Situated on an acre of land that slopes gently downward toward a bluff at the ocean’s edge, the property offers a unique environment perfect for a peaceful and relaxing vacation experience. Enjoy the tranquility of the Zen garden, long walks along the coastline, or simply sit and relax amid the serenity of a shady retreat between lily ponds. The property is fully landscaped with over 100 different varieties of flora, including: bamboo, water lilies, fragrant flowers, ornamental vines, succulents and fruit bearing trees.

Take a relaxing dip in the Japanese-style soaking tub that spills over into a gorgeous, 42’ long, salt water, infi...nity edge swimming pool. Soak up some sun or recline under an umbrella on a poolside lounge chair overlooking the ocean. The pool deck area includes an outdoor shower with hot water, a barbecue, and food preparation and dining areas.

When conditions are right, the snowy peak of Mauna Kea can be seen from the property, as can whales, dolphins, sea turtles, Nene geese and other species unique to Hawaii. Fishing is a common activity along the bluff.

Accommodations are in a newly built, luxury oceanfront home offering spectacular views. The building contains the owners’ residence and two separate units with identical floor plans that include a living area with couch and TV and a dining area with a table that will seat four people comfortably.

Both the first and second floor units are spacious two bedroom; two bath apartments that can be rented as a either a one or two bedroom unit. When rented as a one bedroom apartment, the second bedroom is locked off, and it remains empty during the time the guest is in residence.

The maximum occupancy for all configurations is two persons, including children, per bedroom. The maximum for a one bedroom configuration is two persons, the two bedroom configuration has a maximum occupancy of four persons. Please let us know, when making a reservation, how many adults and children will be in your party.

Pricing is given for the two bedroom configuration. If you only need a one bedroom unit, this unit can be rented at a reduced rate with the rent, cleaning fee and security deposit all approximately 25% less than the rates quoted for a two bedroom configuration.

This listing is for the second floor unit. Both bedrooms have their own entrances and lanais and all rooms have magnificent ocean views. As a two bedroom unit, it is perfect for two couples or two single adults traveling together, providing both separate and commons paces that allows each both comfort and privacy. Each bedroom has a Californian king sized bed with a memory foam mattress.

A laundry room with a washer, dryer, and sink is available to guests at no charge, during daylight hours.

The property is located approximately 15 miles (25 minutes by car) south of Hilo in the Paradise Park subdivision.

NOTES:

Depending on season, minimum stays of up to 5 to 7 nights may be required.

Rates and fees quoted do not include the applicable Hawaii State taxes (approximately 13.5% of rents and fees, no tax on the security deposit.)

Maximum occupancy is two people, including all children over 12 months of age, per bedroom.

Swimming pool and soaking tub usage is limited to resident guests.

No smoking allowed inside or poolside.

No shoes inside.

Additional Location Information

The property is located in Hawaiian Paradise Park, approximately 25-30 minutes southeast of the Hilo Airport. Because it is located at the central area in Puna district. it was made to be a quite large subdivision and mostly divided by one acre each.
It is still in a very low density, very green area, that is rural and undeveloped. Near the coast, some luxury residence and vacation houses are build by recent years. Year around good weather attract people to live after retirement, mostly from the west coast of the United State.

  My family and I have vacationed several times in the Paradise Park area because it is so beautiful and remote. For this vacation, I was looking for a little piece of paradise for just two of us. I'm so glad I found this retreat. It exceeded my expectations. We spent nine days enjoying the sun and rain, the ocean, the beautiful gardens and ponds, the spa, taking walks on the lava, taking short day trips, etc. Our home-away- from-home was a very pleasant place to stay - very clean, well-appointed, and comfortable. If you're looking for a Hawaiian experience the average tourist doesn't have, you can't do much better than staying here. We hope we'll have the opportunity to come again.

  the most relaxing 10 days!

  Our stay at the paradise ocean retreat was the most relaxing 10 days I've had in the last 10 years. I was so happy to get a good night's sleep every night except for the first (jet lag.) Being there took away all the stress I brought to Hawaii. Everything about the environment was relaxing, I loved the gently touch of the trade winds (although it can get a bit windy) I felt like I was breathing the cleanest air in the world.
  
  We particularly enjoyed soaking in the furo (Japanese style hot tub) every night and lying in bed, listening to the ocean was a wonderful way to fall asleep.
  
  The one bedroom apartment was well designed, spacious and quite comfortable for two people. The ocean view from the bedroom and living room is amazing.
  
  My wife spent her mornings walking the garden. She said there are so many kinds of fragrant flowers she never saw before. The owners are very kind, we picked some papaya, passion fruit and herbs from their garden.
  
  We drove to Volcano, several state parks. They are 20-45 minutes drive and quite unique of the Big Island.
  If you visit there, make sure you go to Makuu Sunday market. its 10 minutes drive. The market is like a festival with music, food court, locally harvested fruit and flowers and local crafts people selling their art, crafts, clothing,
  etc.
  
  It was hard to leave and we hope to be able to return next year.

  Bhudda's Ocean Retreat was awesome !! Like the 5 stars Hotel!! I stayed with my wife 1 week. We were so happy to stay this retreat and to meet Owner Sumiko & Dan. We love this place! Kitchen, Bathroom, Bedroom, Pool , Zen garden, Spa, Everything was great and Clean,Your privacy will be protected. and you can use the BBQ grill. This Keaau area is nice place. You can go to many place soon. We would like to come back here again. Thank you Sumiko and Dan.We are very glad to meet you.

  A Beautiful and Relaxing Hawaiian Vacation

  The setting of the home was gorgeous: ocean views, amazing landscaping, beautiful pool and hot tub. The rental apartment was very new, clean, and comfortable. The view from the room was stunning and the sunrises were breathtaking. The home is in a very remote location so a rental car is needed as the closest town with restaurants and shops is about a 15 minute drive away. The owners were very kind and helpful, but respected our privacy as well. The website description was very accurate; this place is perfect for a relaxing vacation and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful location where they can rejuvenate. I loved this place so much that I returned again with another friend!
