Del Mar, Ca.Enchanting Treehouse/ Garden Haven!
Left on 03/08/2013 for a stay in December 2012
Aloha,
I have stayed at this Enchanting Treehouse 8 times in the past 4 years! It is off the beaten path, clean, quiet, safe and a great space to unwind after an amazing dolphin swim right down the road at Kealakekua Bay!It has hardwood floors and a lanai that wraps around the front of the house with an ocean view at a distance. Simply Divine. I wouldnt stay anywhere else and in fact will be returning in april for my 9th visit. Sandia is fantastic and willing to work around your schedule to assist with your journey!
Blessings and I hope you choose this amazing garden haven!

I stayed here a few days and I loved every minute of it. The place is very welcoming, charming with all the plants and trees, and the beautiful view from the lanai.
I also liked the fact that it is located so close to my favorite snorkeling spot. Clean, peaceful, and affordable. I'll be back!
Thank you! -

I cannot describe the surprise that the place gave me. It's like a part of the heaven. The room is so comfortable, beautiful, stylish, and unique. The view is amazing with ocean and forest. The privacy is so good. Only thing is it is kinda far from the center of Kona but whatever, I love the place.

Beautifully decorated airy apartment
Left on 08/21/2012 for a stay in August 2012
Pros:
This is a beautiful and spacious apartment above the trees with views of the ocean on clear days. Lovely artwork and spiritual decorations made us feel like we stepped into someone else's life for a moment. Near to restaurants and Captain Cook town, although a vehicle is necessary. Large selection of interesting books.
Cons:
There is not a washer/dryer as listed (not really a problem, we just went to the local laundromat), most of the dishes had cobwebs or food crusted on them, so we had to rewash before using them.
The driveway is pretty narrow, but we still managed ok - just a warning if you are planning to rent a vehicle larger than a sedan. The other thing, and I realize the owner doesn't have much control over this, is that the neighbors had several roosters which didn't seem to be able to tell time. A few nights we were kept awake by their constant crowing. Again, this is just the general flavor of the area and not really the fault of the owner. Overall we still enjoyed the stay very much. -

New Yorkbeautiful treehouse
Left on 07/14/2012 for a stay in July 2012
this place is really like a treehouse. you can watch the sunset from the super private lanai. you cannot see any other humans around. the trees, flowers, and birds are absolutely amazing. It is like being in a jungle hideaway. Windows in the main bedroom completely open up so it feels like you are sleeping outside. There are no bugs at all. You can feel the breezes from the ocean.
Kitchen is fully equipped. The lanai (porch/deck) is huge w/table, 4 chairs, and two porch swings. Sandia, the owner, is very sweet and helpful. Directed us to all the best places for snorkeling, swimming, and to a fabulous local fish restaurant.
On beautiful road descending towards kealakekua bay, where there is amazing snorkeling. Don't forget to stop at Kalama Cafe (near bottom of hill) for the best burgers and sandwiches (particularly the ahi nori wrap). This part of the island is super mellow and friendly. Very few tourists.
I highly recommend this cottage rental for a mellow, peaceful, super private stay on the west coast of the big island. It is perfect for a couple or couple with 1 or 2 kids.

LASpiritual, spacious and great ocean views!!
Left on 01/24/2012 for a stay in January 2012
We stayed in Mapulani for 5 days in January 2012 and it was more than a perfect Hawaii experience for us. The place belongs to an artist and every corner of the house expresses her aesthetic sense! The house has two rooms each with a bed and a fully equipped kitchen. There is a big lanai adjoining both the rooms. Our cozy bedroom was surrounded by glass on all three sides and we could actually see the sunrise lying on our bed every morning. The outer room is so spacious that it could easily be a good place for kids to play around. It also has a very good collection of books and cds which we utilized to the fullest during our stay. The house is literally a hidden gem surrounded by tall trees which attract so many different varieties of birds. Though we woke up the first morning by the call of a local rooster but from the next day onwards it had become a part of our morning rituals. Every time of the day was great in this house but the morning was the best as we enjoyed our hot cup of coffees sitting in the lanai and enjoying the magnificent view of the ocean. If we go back to Big Island, we won't think twice to stay here again.
