My wife and I stayed at Giantsview the week after our wedding. We had considered far off & exotic places for our honeymoon, but are so happy we opted for close to home & relaxing. Giantsview was the perfect place to be; dramatic view, secluded, quiet, cozy wood stove, great kitchen, amazing hiking, outdoor shower is great, close enough to Lake Placid & Saranac for nice day trips. We were there late October & early November. We waited out hurricane Sandy, saw the first snow of the season and the sun came through a few days too. We tried to stay disconnected, but wifi & cell service is available if you need it. It was a great value - sliding scale for # of guests is a nice touch. The days flew by & we left feeling relaxed and recharged. It was a real priviledge to stay at such a beautiful home. We're definately going to be back!

We (group of 10 including 2 children) absolutely enjoyed our stay at Giant's View. The "view" by the way is gorgeous. The Lodge is very comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. The downstairs play area for the kids was perfect. Can't wait to return.

Omg this place is incredible! So relaxing, and warm. I would recommend this property for anyone who's looking for a relaxing vacation. Be prepared to wake up early and enjoy the outdoors! This is the perfect place for people who like to spend the day hiking or at the slopes, return to a charming rustic lodge at night, and relax around the fire!
To top it of they are dog friendly. I always have to travel with my dog, and it can be very difficult to find a nice place that will allow dogs. Giant's View is a perfect property if you are looking to spend quality time with your best friend!
The owners are great and very helpful. They are easy to talk to and very understanding of their guests needs. I would definitely come back and recommend this place for friends! A+

New York, NYExcellent Location, Stay, and Comfort!

My wife and I stayed at the Giant's View Lodge twice in three years, and it is consistently wonderful. There is so much room even for two families, and it was just my wife and I. Firstly, the house is very clean. There are some problems with flies during the warmer time of the year (though our first stay in March must have been cold enough to keep them away, because we didn't see/hear them). Secondly, the kitchen is perfect for big meals - git the grocery in Lake Placid and do all of your cooking here! Thirdly, the location is scenic, tucked away in the wilderness, and yet easy to get to (four-wheel drive is recommended during the winter). Ray and Laura are very prompt with their replies and thorough on what they expect from their guests - there should be no misinterpretation on your deposit, reservation dates, or rules of your stay. Finally, the house has everything you could ask for in a getaway - laundry, wood stove, high ceilings, lots of room, comfy beds, the kitchen, charcoal grill, playroom for the kids, gorgeous view of the mountains, and excellent heating system - didn't have to touch the thermostat once until it was time to leave. In all, a wonderful stay and we look forward to returning in the near future.

Have to call it: "The House in the Mountains" as that is what our children invariably call it. They love it! Our friends who join us annually love it too. Of course we love the location - have been going to Keene Valley for over 20 years now, and Giant's View for 3 years. Giant's View takes the cake for our best experiences while visiting that quiet little neighbor of Lake Placid. Ray and Laura are excellent and make the reservation process very easy. Thanks again!

We get in the car excited out of our minds. We're spending the weekend at Giant's View! Takes us about 4 hours for us to get there,I never even want to stop. This is how we kick off our Holiday season every year. We pull in the driveway and drive up to the cabin (A lovely 3000 plus sq ft log cabin nestled into the side of Little Porter Mt.). I dont stop moving till everything is in the house( Wife, Kids, food ,wine) and wood bin is loaded( beautiful wood stove centerpiece of livingroom). Only then will I sit down in my favorite chair in the house(not sure of the name but it sits against the window facing the loft) and take in the beauty of the cabin. My entire family loves the cabin. We have been staying in The Nardelli's Giant View for about 5 years now. Every stay better than the last. We've brought Parents, Friends and all are amazed at the beauty of the cabin and its surroundings. Its close to Lake Placid and Saranac so there's plenty to do. Whiteface,The North Pole,Mt.Van Hoevenburg Sports Complex,Olympic Ski Jumps, High Falls Gorge are all great places to visit (Winter or Summer). The Nardelli's have a jewel in the adirondacks.

My friends and I have stayed multiple times at Giantsview. We enjoy the location and know that it is well furnished and makes for a relaxing dinner after a long day of hiking or xc skiing. We love the large soapstone wood stove and everyone gets their own bedroom. The new mudroom for gear is a nice touch to make stay relaxing.

We stay at Giant's View almost every year. A group of friends heads up for a fun weekend every year exploring Lake Placid and the surrounding towns, and we always stay at Giant's View if it's available. The master suite is great along with a huge kitchen and living area. The views here are hard to beat.

I can't say enough about Giant's View Lodge. The location at the bottom of Porter Mtn, the beautiful views and the overall home was so welcoming. All the comforts you could ask for were available. My friends and I wanted a quiet place to just sit back, relax, and have fun on Halloween weekend. This gave us all that. We were able to go a short drive into Lake Placid to do some shopping and grab food to bring back and cook on the outdoor grill. I recommend Giant's View Lodge to anyone wanted a great greataway!

I stayed at Giants View Lodge last January and was very impressed with the house. Big and spacious, comfortable rooms and great views. All of this and a great location to get to nearby hiking trails for snowshoeing and cross country skiing. I look forward to an opportunity to return.

Wife and I, old timers to Keene Valley, stayed for a week with two other couples, first visit to adirondacks.. Lodge provided fine, comfortable accommodation for all six of us in three well appointed bedrooms each with access to separate full bathrooms. The kitchen is large, modern and has everything all the pots pans etc you will need plus toaster,.coffee maker and accessories--only lack was waffle iron --bring you own but nothing else for cooking and dining; all the dishes, silverware are on hand. As advertised the lodge is truly a private residence designed as a second "dream" home for the owners and tastefully furnished as such in adirondack mountain style. Almost all rooms and an extensive deck provide the touted view that is even better than the promotional photos. Placid, Whiteface and Saranac within easy reach by car and the High Peaks Region literally at your doorstep with hiking for every fitness level. Best recommendation is that we are returning this year with same group despite fact that it rained every day. My wife and I have stayed in the adirondacks every year for the past forty years in various type of lodgings from lean-tos to posh-posh; Giant's View now stands at the top of our list.

This was our third trip to Giant's View and it never disappoints. There is not a better place to enjoy the beauty and serenity of the adirondacks, while still having easy access to conveniences. It is so comfortable, beautiful, and spacious that we often hesitate to go out.
