The cottage is very conveniently located in a peaceful countryside - still only 30 min to downtown Reykjavik, 20 min to the airport, and 15 min to the Blue Lagoon. It is fully equipped, and ready for vacation rent for 8-9 persons. The surrounding area is beautiful right by the water with a private beach. Also offers great walking paths up in the mountains where you can find lava fields, old volcano craters, and spectacular view from the mountain peak of Keilir. The cottage is ideal for two couples or a family.

I highly recommend this farm cottage as a peaceful retreat after a day of sight seeing. It was very clean and pleasantly decorated with comfortable beds. The kitchen was so well equipped we ate all dinners at the house after watching the sunset.
The friendly Iceland ponies greeted us every morning and evening and provided great photo ops. Birgir our host was very kind, knowledgeable and shared interesting facts and places about Iceland. The owner of the house, an interesting man who has traveled the world, was also very warm and welcoming and shared some tea and conversation with us one afternoon.
The house is close to the airport and Reykjavik as well as supermarkets. Birgir was kind enough to make car arrangements for us so we were able to get to the cottage to rest soon after we landed.
I should mention that interested parties should realize that the steps to the upper bedroom were very steep and only appropriate for the athleticly inclined. My husband and I, both in our 50's, got used to them pretty quickly and they became part of the charm of this special cottage. -

We so enjoyed our stay at the Waterfront Cottage. It was so peaceful and the scenery is just stunning. The ocean views and landscape was perfect. If you wish to experience the beautiful nature of Iceland , this is a perfect place to stay. It was so lovely to meet BJ and anna and enjoyed their company and the appreciated the time they took to show us around the property and tell us about the area.

Beautiful cottage, BJ and his wife are _super_ nice and extremely helpful making arrangements and helping choose what to do (and there's plenty in Iceland!). Clean, neat, not fancy but homey and everything you need (including outdoor gas grill). On the beach, great views all around, excellent walks. Lots of birds. Definitely away-from-it-all yet 15-20 min from Reykjavik and Keflavik. Easy to get to the Blue Lagoon. Thanks, Birgir!

Dear BJ,
From the moment we met you and your wife, we felt at home. Staying in your beautiful, homey little cottage by the shore is just what our family needed, and we thank you for your kind hospitality. I also can't thank you enough for letting us stay that additional night (even though it was going to make cleaning the cottage for the next visitor a push) when we accidentally on purpose missed our flight to Germany. The extra stay allowed us to have just enough time to finish our laundry, which was a huge blessing! We loved walking along the black sand beach by the house (thank you so much for the sand toys!), petting your horses, eating the delicious, fresh eggs laid by your chickens, and watching our children run in the yard and climb on the rocks. Thank you for your advice on what we should see, and also I'd like to thank the landlord for stopping by to say hi. I only regret that we didn't have more time to speak with him and with you while we were there because I'm sure that we would become fast friends. Next time we stay with you (because there will be a next time), we'll have a BBQ on the amazing grill that you have there! Thank you again, and enjoy your trip to the Outer Banks!

My friends and I stayed at this house for a few nights and we enjoyed it much. The location is spectacular. It is along the shore and perfect for people that want to be near the water. The sun sets over the ocean view which is great for sunset photos. The house had a lot a character which we liked. The beds were comfortable and the wi-fi was excellant. This home is also a short drive to the blue lagoon which was nice. The gentelment that rents our the home is very friendly and helpful. One of our favorite parts of our trip was meeting him. I highly recommend this home for anyone looking to rent in this area of Iceland.

Take a trip back in time without losing any modern conveniences! This is a great house that is roomy, comfortable and full of character. Scenery includes magnificent mountain views with the ocean and a beautiful beach just a few steps away! Very private and quiet, the location is perfect, close to the airport as well as the capital city.
It was a really enjoyable stay at a great house.
