The west side in Kekaha is wonderful, filled with sunny days and starry
nights. The house is well appointed and easy to relax in and call home for how ever long you stay. We had 5 weeks to stay and play and loved every moment. Yes you have to drive to other parts of the island but that's the beauty of this home, it's not far from anywhere and it's so great to come home to. Thanks again Scott for making our stay in paradise a time we won't soon forget.

Louisville, KYFabulous House
Left on 11/27/2010 for a stay in May 2010
Two couples stayed at Hale anuenue in May of 2010 and recommend it highly. The home itself is beautifully furnished with all the conveniences and great indoor and outdoor space. What was truly remarkable was the fact that the owners provided everything you might need for a perfect vacation which meant we didn't have to bring bulky items with us. The garage had not only a washer and dryer but snorkel gear, beach towels, beach chairs, toys for kids, reef shoes - everything a beachgoer could want.
The only drawback was the distance from services. We had hoped for a market where we could buy fresh fish to cook. The two supermarkets in Waimea were good and not too far away. The location is great for Waimea Canyon and miles of uncrowded beaches, but kind of far from some of the sights a visitor would want to see. Nevertheless we loved it and highly recommend this rental. -

Santa Barbara, CAGreat spot in Kekaha!
Left on 10/21/2010 for a stay in October 2010
We thoroughly enjoyed staying 10 days here. The house was nicely furnished, great amenities, and meals on the lanai were memorable. Our 14 month old daughter learned "Gecko" here! It was a real treat to have a home away from home. It was so comfortable, we loved the master bedroom and bathroom with the large shower for 2. Our only draw-back was the location on the island. We found a great beach in Poipu, so the drive each day was a bit tedious. If you're looking to spend most of your time in Waimea Canyon, this is the place to stay. Thanks, Chad and Scott, for a great home!

Kitchener, Ontario, CanadaMost memorable property of all our rentals!

"Hale anuenue" is not only casually elegant but magical as well. Although it's been a couple years, I will never forget the flowing sheer curtains when a warm ocean breeze entered the house; nor, the tasteful pieces of art objects surrounding us while relaxing in the home. To sit on the porch and gaze at the ocean in the near distance was magnificent. We would join some of the locals each night down at the shore and watch the setting sun - a spiritually moving experience. The owners were accomodating and helpful to all our requests and questions. Kekaha is the perfect quiet balance to the more active Princeville area.

Left on 10/18/2010 for a stay in February 2010
We have stayed in the Hawaiian Islands for many years, but never in a house in a community. So, this was a first for us. We found the community great with good neighbours, wonderful beach, areas to walk, and enthusiastic kids playing "ball". We didn't need a whole house but it was wonderful. Well appointed, comfortable bed, and a lovely lanai. We liked the beautiful weather as well - seemed to be always sunny and warm. We would definitely stay here again - staying right in a regular community was a plus for us.

Russell, PaNicest vacation home we've stayed in!!
Left on 10/14/2010 for a stay in September 2009
Everything about the home was perfect - very clean, beautifully decorated, lovely landscaping, etc. The only negative was the location - not near many amenities, and the nearby beach was rock. Would stay here again, even with the location.

Left on 10/14/2010 for a stay in July 2010
My wife and I made our first trip to Hawaii this summer and decided to spend most of it on Kauai. A friend of ours recommended Hale anuenue for our stay on the island. We loved the place from the moment we stepped into it. From the fully stocked kitchen to the comfortable living room and master bedroom we barely wanted to leave except to sit out on the lanai. We did enjoy the south part of the island and the canyon and we took a helicopter tour too. But the best part was the house and coming home to it each day. Scott was great to work with and very easy to communicate with to get our visit set up. We'll definitely go back next time we visit Kauai and we've already recommended it to anyone who will listen.

Left on 10/14/2010 for a stay in October 2009
The owners were very responsive to any questions we had, and were obviously proud of their vacation property.
The home was delightful. Beautifully furnished, and very comfortable for we 4 adults who had traveled from California and australia. All appliances worked, entertainment system was top notch, and beds were comfortable, with top quality linens. The kitchen was nicely furnished with excellent stove, oven, and other small appliances, plus plenty of dishware. The front veranda (lanai) was wonderful, and we ate there almost every night, plus enjoyed breakfast watching the comical roosters parading through the yard.
The location was good, although not on the ocean front. The home is built on the back of a large property, with 2 two-storey homes in the front. Beach access is close, perhaps a 100 yard walk through the property and across a busy highway. The house was also very close to the Catholic Church, a nice touch for one couple.
The nearest stores were at Waimea, a short drive away, There was an internet access at the house, but remember to bring your own computer!! Local restaurants were lovely, and there was no shortage of day trips for sightseeing.
We loved the comfortable family home, and felt like we could be happy there for many more days. We had everything we needed for beach trips (snorkels, goggles and fins), and picnics. There were maps, brochures and books about the islands.
Perhaps the only disappointment was the rough beach across the highway. We needed to drive to a safe swimming beach as the surf was rough and the beach was rocky. Being one block back, we didn't have the ocean view, but then again, the busy highway noise was a little quieter.
Families with children would love this house, and it made a ideal home for 2 couples too.Response from Scott Worner - 10/14/2010
Owner
Mahalo for taking the time to submit your review. I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay at the house. We have spent a lot of time putting our personal touch on this house, which is actually my personal home. We chose to purchase this house because of it's location, just back from the road and direct oceanfront. The sometimes busy road can be heard in the ocean front properties, however, it is muted almost completely by being back just another 200 feet. Since your visit, we have trimmed the bushes and removed the trees to open up the view of the ocean, so that now you can watch the whales frolic in the ocean without getting up from your chair in the living room, kitchen , or the expansive lanai. We think we have the best of both worlds now, with a quieter setting, double sized private yard, and a straight forward ocean view. As for the beach, it is open ocean here and the shifting of the sands is a seasonal event. We never know how much sand will be directly out front, but there is always a pleasant area of protected sand behind the reef just 200-300 feet to the east, in front of the Catholic Church. We swim regularly in the ocean, with a few days in the Winter being too rough. There is a life guarded section of the beach less than a mile down the road where there is calmer water and picnic shelters as well. Either way, the beach goes for miles from its beginning, and is great for walking and enjoying the spectacular sunsets. We look forward to a return visit to our house, or any of the properties that we currently manage on Molokai and Kauai. Warmest aloha and all the best!

NYKekaha Beach House
Left on 03/29/2010 for a stay in December 2009
WE spent New Year's at this great beach house. It has a beautiful view of the ocean without the noise of being on the road. It was about 200 steps to sandy beach that went for miles. The sunsets were amazing and the whale watching was truly special. This was a surprise from the moment of arrival. The house is quite modest looking from t he outside, the inside has 15 foot ceilings and there is a feeling of large open and airy spaces. The large lanai on the oceanside is perfect for dining outside and just kicking back. The master suite has an ocean view and an amazing bath with oversized stone and glass shower. Top notch in all respects. The best thing is that it seldom rains on this side of the island - unlike the north shorer of Kauai. I will be back next year!

Thanks for the great comments. It makes all of our efforts worth the time and money to make it the perfect getaway. I think your comments were to the point, and exactly as I see it as well. Please come back and see all of the new things we have done to make it not only better, but the absolute best! Much aloha
