      bugs and broken promises

Left on 05/01/2013 for a stay in April 2013

We did enjoy the remoteness of Kekaha, and this side of the island, and the pool was nice . But the noise from street in front was deafening, which made listening to the ocean breakers difficult or non existent. The master bedroom carpet stunk of mildew, we called and were told a carpet freshener would be delivered and it was not. Cockroaches and ants were prolific in kitchen and guest bath and bedroom. Requested exterminator and was told the exterminator did indeed spray but the activity was just as busy with the bugs for the balance of our trip. The roll out bed mattress was very used, rusted and ragged, we had to use under great protest. There was no stove, only a very used electric skillet and the BBQ was out of propane, which took an additional call to remedy. One 32" television in the living room. We expressly asked about multiple televisions and were told, "there are Tv's all over the place". The management seemed to try to accommodate, but I advise to book at your own risk, this is really bottom of the barrel accommodations.

The homes were spacious and the pool a nice touch after a day at

Left on 08/19/2012 for a stay in June 2012

Listing on Vrbo was confusing; it took awhile to learn that the listing was for 2 homes on the property. The home worked for my gang of 10 attending a family wedding. There were plenty of linens and tableware and the interior of the homes were clean, but this is a rental and it could use some TLC on the exterior. There were only 2 trash cans at the road for this large property; both gas grills were disgusting and rusty. Cooking tough with no aC in living area of main house. Couldn't use beach across the street because of boulders.

      Great accommodations for relaxing vacation

Left on 02/03/2012 for a stay in January 2012

8 of my family (age 30-80) rented the main house for 10 days in January 2012. Many differing interests so we were happy to have some separation space for folks who wanted to sleep in vs. early risers. We could not have been more pleased with the accommodations. The house was totally clean. We had one issue with a slipping toilet seat that was fixed pronto. We found ourselves also cooking most nights and had plenty of room for everyone upstairs, the table sat 8 easily and there were 2 barstools if we had needed them. Well stocked kitchen with all the items needed, including some condiments. 2 King bedrooms, 1 double twin bedroom (we put the beds together to make a king), along with 2 queen hideabeds allowed comfortable sleeping for everyone. 3 ½ bathrooms gave everyone plenty of room for their "stuff”. Laundry on both floors made it very convenient. We spent most sunsets upstairs on the lanai sipping our umbrella drinks and admiring the skies. The pool was a little chilly, but some of us still made use of it, no problems there. The BBQ worked well and we used it. No hammock!! But I suspect it will be re-hung when the weather gets nicer. This is on the west side of the island, where things are more laid back. If you're looking for parties, this isn't the place. But for relaxing and taking time out, it was wonderful. We still drove to see all the other sites but really appreciated it when we returned "home”. Thank you, Kendall and all, for making my mom's BD a great celebration

      Fantastic Experience

8 of my family (age 30-80) rented both floors of the main house for 10 days in January 2012. This is on the west side of the island, where things are more laid back. Our idea of excitement was watching the whales frolic right in front of the house. If you’re looking for parties, this isn’t the place. But for relaxing and taking time out, it was wonderful. We still drove to all the other sites but really appreciated it when we returned “home”. We'll be back

Left on 05/31/2011 for a stay in January 2009

The lovely beach is literally across the street. The house was very clean, well equipped, comfortable throughout, and set back enough from the highway that it is quiet (except of course for the roosters crowing, but that is part of the Kauai experience). We love Kekaha and this is the nicest vacation rental we have had there.

      total joy

Left on 03/11/2011 for a stay in February 2011

Lovely and so close to the beach. The traffic noise was tolerable. Beds were great and the decor was very up to date and the whole place gave us a feeling of space.
Nothing like sitting out on the deck and watching the whales.
      We would go there again.

      Relaxing

Left on 08/09/2010 for a stay in August 2010

Overall our stay here was wonderful. But it stated that the kitchen was fully furnished, but there was no stove. We made due with the electric skillet that was provided. The lower level living area very spacious and the beds were quite comfortable! And of course the view was excellent along with the sound of the ocean to put you to sleep.
