    Additional Location Information

    The County Kerry region
Sculptured by the wonders of the ice-age and caressed by the waters of the Gulf Stream, Co. Kerry is a place steeped in ancient history and folklore.

It boasts a treasure trove of pre-historic buildings and monuments, many of which are remarkably well preserved and cared for.

The county claims some of Ireland's most dramatic scenery, including the world-renowned Lakes of Killarney and the awe-inspiring landscapes of the Beara and Dingle peninsulas. There is much to see and do here with angling, walking, deep sea diving, golf and leisurely sightseeing a must for the visitor.

    The Kenmare / Tuosist area
Kenmare is a haven of tranquillity, gourmet food, superb accommodation and breathtaking scenery in one of the most natural, unspoilt environments in Europe. Cradled in the heart of Kenmare Bay, the picturesque town of Kenmare is the perfect location from which to discover the South West of Ireland, linking the internationally famous Ring of Kerry with the rugged Ring of Beara.

Founded in 1670, though many generations have passed since then, the unique charm and inherent beauty of the town remains unchanged. The Tourist Board, Bórd Fáilte, officially recognised the historical, cultural and environmental significance of Kenmare by bestowing upon it the title of Kerry's first Heritage Town.

The Ring of Kerry, known all over the world, follows the coastline of the Iveragh peninsula. It is one of the most dramatic scenic drives in the country and makes a most exciting day tour. Along the 175km route are picturesque villages, an abundance of historical landmarks, sandy coves and beaches.

The unspoiled Ring of Beara lies to the south of Kenmare. Its rugged beauty is beyond compare, traffic is minimal and it abounds with archaeological sites and spectacular views.

Whether it is walking on the mountains, cruising on the bay, horse riding, golfing, fishing, touring or soaking up the best of music you will not be disappointed in Kenmare.

A Fabulous Place to relax and enjoy Ireland!

Left on 07/17/2012 for a stay in July 2012

This was a beautiful home on the water. The house fit our family of four comfortably. We enjoyed making breakfast each morning and eating out on the patio that overlooks the beautiful scenery. The movie viewing room was great! We all enjoyed the homemade coffee cake and fresh milk in the fridge. The little store down the road was handy for picking up groceries. The house is also located just minutes away from the Star of Kenmare boat cruises and recreational outings. We were only about a 10 minute ride from downtown Kenmare was was a beautiful little seaside city! We will definitely be staying here again during our next visit to Ireland!

      What a location

Left on 06/05/2012 for a stay in June 2012

We spent the June Bank holiday weekend in Clonee fishing lodge , while the weather was misrable it did not matter to us ,with the facilities of the stove fire , the cinema room and the provisions we had brought ourselves what a good weekend we had.We made it our own home from home. The welcome pack of the milk ,tea, and butter was super but what outshone all that was the beautiful homemade coffee cake waiting in the fridge , what a touch of genuine Irish hospitality thank you Mrs O,Sullivan and the chat with Pat before we left on Monday we loved this house and will be back .

      Unbelievable Views!

Left on 04/11/2012 for a stay in March 2012

We arrived to the Clonee Fishing Lodge in the late evening. The family who owns and operates this home is truly the definition of hospitable. The greatest surprise was waking up to the outrageous views that surround the home. The quiet, stillness and heavenly views makes this lodge so special. Traveling the Beara Peninsula was one of the greatest adventures on our trip. We would stay here again upon our next visit.
