Seattle, WAWe had a great stay in Doire Farm Cottages
Left on 05/25/2013 for a stay in May 2013
My 20-year old daughter and I spent five nights at Doire Farm and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Anne is a warm and easy-going host, and we felt immediately welcome and comfortable in her lovely cottage. Our cottage was "Pa's Cottage" in the double-unit building. We were completely happy with it. We will fondly remember out time at Doire Farm. We enjoyed the freshly baked scones from anne, the fresh milk from her family's cows (best milk I've ever tasted), the animals at the farm (including Scruffy, the sweetest dog you could ever meet), chatting with anne, day trips to the absolutely gorgeous Beara Peninsula and Killarney National Park, and convenient shopping in the cute, nearby town of Kenmare. I can wholeheartedly recommend Doire Farm Cottages and would stay there again without hesitation! Thank you, Anne! Your place is special! Elaine

We spent a week at Doire Farm Cottage whereas at the beginning we thought staying 4 nights. We were two adults and two young children (2.5 years old and 3 months old). Ann and Patrick welcomed us very well.
The cottage is very clean, comfortable, very well equipped (especially the kitchen) and tastefully decorated. The fireplace is very nice in the evening after a day spent visiting Kenmare, the Ring of Kerry, the Ring of Beara...
Our eldest has loved the playground (swing, baskettball,slide...). He has loved to collect the eggs in the morning, running after chickens, see the cows being milked and to give drink to the calves with ann. She also let him some toys.
Ann has prepared scones and an apple pie. They were so good that my wife has learned to make scones and bread with her. -

We spent 5 days at Doire Farm and wish we could have stayed longer. It really made our holiday in Kenmare . Anne made fairy cakes with apple and cream for our arrival they were delicious. She brought around milk from her cows the next day. The cottages are a very high standard in every way ,very warm with everything you could look for, there was even timber in for the fire. On leaving anne made some current buns for our journey home she is such a kind person . We are already planning our next visit .

We stayed at Doire Farm for 3 nights and wish we had know how wonderful it was. We would have stayed there much longer and reduced our time elsewhere! Anne welcomed us with cake, showed us how to work everything, and also gave advice about local attractions. To have a hot power shower was heaven after some of the places we had stayed! And then to be able to sit in front of a fire at night after long days sightseeing was truly wonderful.

Anne and Patrick were wonderful hosts - warm, welcoming, and willing to share all they knew about the area and what we might like to do. Anne even booked our dinner out! The cottage was immaculate, and there was homemade bread and scones waiting for us when we arrived. The setting was spectacular; I took walks along their quiet country road each morning. Perfect location to see all the sights, or stay home and be cozy with a fire. We will definitely be back!

Doire Farm Cottages surpassed our every expectation. Anne and her family welcomed us with open arms.
The farm cottage was perfect for family. With a fully furnished kitchen we were able to take advantage of the fresh eggs and make great breakfasts. Additionally, the fireplace gave the children an opportunity make a fire every night.
Anne was very helpful in helping us plan our daily outings from suggestions of what to see to where to eat.
We are already planning our return visit to SW Ireland and to Doire Farms!

We have just returned from a wonderful stay at Doire Farm Cottages. The cottage was clean, modern and was well appointed with all that we needed. It is very spacious and we had plenty of room to spread out as an extended family of 4. Doire Cottages are perfectly situated to enjoy touring County Kerry. The cottage is located on a dairy farm within a quick 5 minute drive into the cute town of Kenmare. Anne was a wonderful host who was always willing to help with suggestions. It was a lovely stay!

We recently stayed at Doire Farm Cottages and were more than impressed. The cottage far exceeded our expectations. We were traveling with my father and our 2 children - 10 and 7. We had the 3 bedroom, 3 bath cottage so each of us had our own room and bathroom. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need. Anne welcomed us with a homemade Irish coffee cake which was superb. She also left breakfast treats for the morning which was such a great surprise since we arrived very late in the evening. Anne welcomed us just like we were family and made us feel very much at home. It was calving season and our kids were able to see some newborn calves and actually help with a bottle feeding. We were also able to get fresh eggs each morning. In addition, Anne recommended some sights to visit that we would have otherwise not gone to - and again they exceeded our expectations. The location was fantastic and you are close enough to go into Killarney, the Ring of Kerry and even Cork. My kids cried when we left and asked if we could stay here forever. We felt that we had a truly Irish experience and would stay here again in heartbeat. There aren't many places that you can go and feel so at home and welcomed. Thank you so much for an amazing vacation! Next time we visit Ireland we will be staying here for our entire trip.

LONDONTruly authentic Ireland
Left on 06/08/2011 for a stay in June 2011
We were treated to a friendly welcoming home, and stayed in one of the individual cottages on the farm, where our hostess, Anne, whose unobtrusive style, and lovely touches of hospitality were in keeping with the overall character of the place, full of subtlety, charm, and warmth, altogether wonderful!
Doire farm is in a perfect setting, nestling just outside of the historic town of Kenmare, gazing out onto pastures, hills and wide-open spaces. Everything you could think of is provided, the cottage we stayed in was sparkling, and altogether delightful, with lovely kitchen, fireplace, bath, and the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Was hard to get going in the mornings! But the fresh laid eggs from Anne's lovely little hens tempted us out the door!
Once outside prepare to enter a magic fairyland, surrounded by glorious trees, shrubs, herbs and plants, and bog oak dating back to the distant past.
Loved the farm, which is perfectly situated for sightseeing in this amazing area, Ring of Beara and Kerry a short drive away, Kenmare on your doorstep, and the Atlantic ocean nearby. Plenty to see and do, and returning to a cosy, comfortable home, with plenty of space for chilling, lounging, grilling, chatting. And if you're lucky, you might persuade Anne's two lovely nymphets, Padraig and Maria to play a traditional Irish melody on the tin whistle! A truly authentic Irish experience not to be missed. -

We stayed for a week at one of the Doire Farm cottages and it was a real treat! Anne has thought of everything you might need in practical terms (and even topped this with a delicious cake on our arrival) and the cottages are very comfortable, well appointed and full of character. It's a short drive to Kenmare and certainly pays to be a little out of town to get away from it all. There are hens in the front yard and we were invited to help ourselves to fresh eggs and also offered a visit to see the cows being milked. A really welcoming stay.

LONDONHome from home!
Left on 12/06/2010 for a stay in September 2010
This was the first time my family had ever been to Ireland and anne, Patrick and the rest of their family could not have made us feel more welcome.
The Doire Farm cottages are set in beautiful countryside surroundings with an original rustic feel, however, all with the modern conveniences of ensuite bathrooms, a washing machine and dryer plus iPod sound systems and TVs / DVD facilities etc...
Being on a working farm, there were fresh eggs outside from the chickens and I was even allowed to milk a cow! Situated so close to the stunning Ring of Beara and neighbouring town of Kenmare there was plenty to do including lots of lovely restaurants and bars with live music for the evenings.
It was the personal touches that really made our stay in Pa's Cottage all the more memorable - above all the fresh apple Pie and milk in the fridge for our arrival - yum! We would highly recommend anne and Patrick and their cottages to anyone! -

This place is so comfy, clean and well kitted out. Anne the owner is a great hostess and makes you feel very welcome. She is also big on recycling and composting which is an important plus for us. Kenmare is also without doubt the nicest of teh Kerry town with great eating and cafe options.

This trip to Ireland was number four for my husband and myself and God willing we have several more planned in the near furure. We stayed with anne in her B and B back in 2006. At that time we were on our 25th wedding anniversary and we took our four sons with us. Anne and her family made our stay so enjoyable. You know they had to be doing an so many things right when a 22 year old, 19, 18 and 16 year old enjoyed her family as well as we did.
When we decided to go to Ireland again, we went with another couple and we were planning two weeks. First week we told them they were responsible for and we would take care of the second week. It was a no brainer for us. I contacted anne to see about her new vacation rentals that were just under construction in 06 would be available. She had trouble getting in touch with me because of an email glitche but with her perserverance and handy detective work she was able to locate us and actually called me. . The minute I received that phone call from anne I felt special, we liked her back and 06 and now she feels like family. She runs a top notch establishment. She helped us with driving routes and many places of interest. Her home was beautiful, spotless and very comfortable. Her kitchen was awesome and we cooked many meals there and the Patio and barbeque was a bonus. Anne, Paddy and her family do this well because they are so personable. They all have that wonderful "Irish Craic" which she told us we also had but they made it easy. I will be going back to anne's place again, Kenmare and that whole area has alot to see suchas Bantry, Dingle Peninsula, Mizen Head the Burren and much more. Kenmare which is only a short distance offers shopping, eating, pubbing and music not to mention the fantastic farmers market. My son and daughter in law are talking about a trip next June and Doire Farm is where my son wants to take his wife. I recommend this place to families, and friends.
