The Lakehouse located at 325 Buena Vista, Kernville CA is a 1750 square foot home with 2 bedrooms, one bath, full kitchen, dinning and living areas, wrap around deck, and a private patio with propane grill. It has a total of three queen beds; the third is located in a drop down sunroom area off of the living room. There is also the option of a single roll away bed if needed to accommodate your party.
Part of this Lakehouse was one of the original "Old Kernville" homes that was relocated to its present location when the Damn was built to create Lake Isabella in the early 1950's.

Our one and two bedroom cottages are located in the Heart of Kernville, CA a unique mountain town . Each cottage has its own character and history. Originally built to house employees constructing the Edison "Powerhouse" in the 1950's the cottages are rich in history and culture of the area. With the construction of the Lake Isabella Damn our largest rental featured on the homepage of our website was moved from "Old Kernville" to its existing location on James Hill. Each cottage has been renovated to suite our guests with the comforts of home such as complete kitchens, private patios, walkways, landscaping and propane grills. All of our rentals are separate structures, which means there are no adjoining walls. They are completely private from one another and yet within walking distance to accommodate guests planning a family reunion or group gathering such as a wedding party or corporate retreat.
With each season comes a new opportunity to explore the Kern River Valley, one of the most diverse areas of eco-systems in California!
The popular Kern River runs thru Kernville where during spring and summer season white water rafting and kayaking is popular. Fishing, hiking, mountain biking, and snowboarding are among the activities our visitors enjoy. Bird watching is also popular with the tourists coming to the Kern River Valley specifically at the Kern River Preserve.
From the Riparian forest to the higher elevations, travelers can choose from a variety of scenic surroundings such as the ever popular "Trail of 100 Giants" located just about one hours drive up the Kern River. Throughout the year the Kern River Valley has numerous events such as Whiskey Flats Days, the Keysville Classic, the Fat Tire Festival, the Kernville Stampede Rodeo, and Octoberfest just to name a few.
Whether you are looking for a private get away for a small party or an ideal place to gather with a group of friends or family Sierra Gateway Cottages are truly the best kept secret for quality lodging and service in Kernville. Located on Sierra Way in Kernville, CA all five rentals are within walking distance to the main grocery store, James Sierra Gateway Market, across the street from Primos Liquor and Deli, the Kern River Brewery and Ewings Steakhouse on the Kern. Private yet within 1/4 of a mile from Riverside park and the Kern River.

We try to keep our rate competitive for the size of accomadations we are offering. This is only possible if our guests abide by the rules of conduct. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter and ask that you leave the cottages as clean as you found them and follow the house rules of check out inspection for no extra cleaning or damage fees to apply.
Although we do not currently charge a cleaning fee, sometimes a cleaning / damage fee will appy for the following reasons: cottage left unclean, kitchen or barbeque areas not left clean, excessive trash or damages.

This place is great, the owner is awesome she makes sure the place is to your liking. The brewery is a short walk away, this way you don't drink and drive. The liquor store and the super market also a short walk away.. Right down the road is the river and not to far from lake Isabella, only a short drive away also the view was beautiful, I've stayed at two of these cottages and both were wonderful. ?

The place was great! We loved the big porch. The "landlords" did a great job of accomodating. I felt like we were borrowing the space from some close friends. We were there to go rafting and, again ... it worked out great!
