An ideal base for those who love to be close to a town centre yet within easy reach of the surrounding Lake District countryside.

Strawberry Cottage is an end of terrace Lakeland stone cottage which was originally part of the former St Johns School. The property has been sympathetically and tastefully modernised whilst still retaining a very characterful feel. What a lovely little cottage

Left on 05/02/2013 for a stay in April 2013

Apart from the jacuzzi bath not working it was perfect for our needs, in the heart of Keswick, no parking issues, easy access to the hills, really clean and comfortable, the agents were just round the corner and very helpful. I would definitely stay again.

      Cosy welcoming haven

Left on 04/20/2013 for a stay in March 2013

This is an excellent base for exploring the Lakes and is conveniently situated in the heart of Keswick within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants and Derwentwater. The cottage was very warm on one of the coldest weekends this year, well equipped with comfortable beds. The jacuzzi bath added a touch of luxury above expectations. We will hurry back there when the weather is better

Left on 02/07/2013 for a stay in January 2013

Very clean and tidy on arrival, took some warming up of the property but The Lakes in January this was expected. A fire guard would have been an advantage. The property was in a fantastic position for all walks and amenities but was hard to load and unload the car as on busy corner.

Perfectly located for walks, restaurants etc

Left on 12/14/2012 for a stay in November 2012

Well equipped and beautifully decorated, comfortable cottage. Loved the location could walk out to restaurants etc and handy for setting out on walks around the area.
Jacuzzi a waste of space though woud have preferred a descent bath in the lovely bathroom.
Booked last minute and service was excellent will visit again.

      Nice, relaxing break

Left on 07/26/2012 for a stay in July 2012

Lovely cottage, excellent location for Keswick and lots of walks from the door. Well equipped kitchen and lovely bathroom, only downside was we couldn't get the jacuzzi to work (seems to have been a common problem) but it was still a great place to stay. Lots of places to eat in Keswick, and still easy access to the south lakes using the car. Parked on a nearby road everyday without a problem, seems to be a common thing around there so saved walking to the car parks with the permit (10-15mins). There's also a £20 deposit for the parking permit. Views of skiddaw and Latrigg from the bedroom and lounge, great to wake up to everyday.

high quality property close to amenities

Left on 04/25/2012 for a stay in April 2012

The property was very nicely finished. Very high end products used in all rooms. There was a jacuzzi bath which we were really looking forward to using after a long days walk, however, we could not make it work and although we reported this straight away and were promised a fix we did not receive a call back either from the rental office or the owners. There is no parking at the property and we were aware of this before booking. It was not too much of a problem as there was generally room on the nearby st although sometimes a bit of a walk. The location was close to town but as a result we were woken on a few occasions by drunken revellers on the way home at 3am and that was with the window shut!! Also quite close to church and bells ring every 15 mins. But all in all enjoyed the stay and property clean and nice

Fantastic cottage with beautiful decor in a central location.

Left on 02/26/2012 for a stay in February 2012

We were delighted with the quality of the furnishings and finish in Strawberry Cottage. My favourite features were the quaint window seats. It had everything we needed for a great stay and we would definately return. The cottage is situated just of the main street but in a fairly quiet spot. There is no parking space but a permit is provided for the local carpark, although we managed to park on a neighbouring street most nights. A great base for walking, or if you are with a small child, like us, for wandering to the lake and going to Keswick's great swings at Fitz Park.
