The Loft is ideally situated for anyone seeking accommodation along Wainwright's coast to coast. The apartment, which sleeps 6, is set in picturesque Lakeland surroundings with many walking and cycling routes directly from the door.

Bampton Grange is a historic hamlet situated between Shap

and Ullswater, centred around the church, which was rebuilt in the 18th

century, there is also one traditional inn serving award winning ale and

quality meals. The hamlet is surrounded by farmland and is situated alongside the

Wainwright coast to coast with an abundance of walking and cycling

opportunities directly from t...he door step. Ideally located to appreciate

Haweswater Reservoir and Ullswater, which is the most northern lake where you

can enjoy a cruise on the steamer. Less than a 20 minute drive away is the

vibrant and historic market town of Penrith.

The Loft is a beautiful apartment, located on the second

floor above the only traditional inn in Bampton Grange, which serves tasty bar

food. Guests also have the option of a cooked breakfast and all this is

provided in the same building. This quirky, spacious property is a perfect base

to explore Eden Valley and Northern Lakes.

The apartment is approached by the side entrance adjacent to

the pub. Follow the stairs to the private entrance and second staircase opening

into The Loft, which boasts roof top views to the fells.

  The location is nice but the home itself could do with some attention. The built in fire in the living area is very noisy and is backed up by two portable oil filled heaters to warm the room, there is no mobile phone signal unless you're prepared to phone from the top of the wardrobe in the bedroom. No welcome pack as advertised online. The owner had left personal items in the drawers in the bedrooms and in the bathroom cabinet which made us feel intrusive. The shower goes off mid flow if the water is being used downstairs, which is not pointed out anywhere. Not a nice experience!! On pointing these things out to the owner herself she was dismissive and said that she considered the flat immaculate. We left a day early.
