There are four bedrooms, with the Master being on the first floor, and the sheets on the new mattresses are all 500 thread Egyptian cotton. There are two futons sofas that pull out into a double bed in the upstairs Great Room, and the Sleeping Porch, as well as in the bedrooms a double bed, two queen beds, and two twins.

This old cottage would remind one of the ''Great Camp'' tradition of the Adirondacks, in that it is rustic but comfortable and very elegant. The sleeping porch is everyone's dream come true, nestled under the gorgeous ancient, and towering white pines which are like... an aeolian harp when there is a gentle breeze. One can also smell the pine scent of these beautiful trees at night if the windows are open.

We are currently completing renovations that will enhance this charm and expand the usability for family use. (Jun 28th will be complete)

We added a full bathroom with two separate vanities, and added cabinetry and appliances (washer dryer/dishwasher, etc) to the kitchen and laundry area, and completing a renovation to the first floor bathroom.

Swimming is very special; you can dive into deep water right from the dock, the water is spring fed..... so pure and clean.

Ample beach for daytime fun and a great firepit for nighttime bonfires. The property is flanked on both north and south ends with trees, which gives amazing privacy!

The 12 X 12 X 20 foot long dock is great for swimming fishing and relaxing.. Also, for children, you can walk right in to shallow waters all the way across the 230' of beach frontage.

''Jouhrnneyd Afar'' is situated on a small point, where you can see both north and south the most incredible views. The sunset views are always breathtaking, and after 11:00 AM the afternoon and evening sun lasts forever for swimming & waterskiing (if you have a boat) . If ever there is a rainstorm, the best place to watch this incredible event would be from the sleeping porch. The sight each time is unforgettable.

Don't forget to bring your bikes, as this is the most incredible spot for cycling on the lake! Our road is VERY private, and riding south you can enjoy the challenge and the splendor of the ride to the end of the bluff, and up toward Skyline drive and past beautiful Garrrett Chapel, which is much like a fairy tale setting.

There are several contributing factors to the spectacular nature of this property. It was given as a gift to a minister and his wife, and was owned and nurtured by their descendants, ministers and naturalists for over a hundred years. We were fortunate to be able to acquire the property in 1997 and have taken on the task of preserving their legacy. Perhaps it was their devotion to both faith and nature that gives the grounds its peaceful demeanor--sometimes its so placid it almost feels surreal. From the cathedral like canopy of the towering pine trees, to the meandering 230' shale beach, the property enfolds you, and lets you know all is well.

Keuka is known as the ''lady of the lakes'' because of its gentle disposition, and the aura of this home compliments that.

  I visited Jouhrnneyd afar last year and I loved every minute of it. The serene water and landscape was so relaxing, and I think about going back all the time. Cooking out at night on the water to waking up in the morning sitting on the dock was so amazing. Being in the Springer's Keuka Haven was like heaven on earth, and I would recommend this getaway to anyone!
