Description from the owner
Your vacation begins the moment you drive through our gatehouse entrance into our beautifully landscaped tropical grounds and enter your spacious 2 bedroom 2 bath suite. This unit is "D-Model", the most requested and therefore the most difficult to reserve of the 4 condo layouts. The reason it is so popular is because it is the only one with two separate balconies. One in the living room and the other in the master bedroom, each offering spectacular OCEAN VIEWS and each overlooks a Protected Wildlife Refuge Area. Dozens of species of birds and animials can be seen in their native habitat, such as a family of Osprey, their nest is perched dire...Read more

DenverA great location for accomplishing our interests while visiting
Left on 02/28/2012 for a stay in February 2012
This rental was a perfect set up for two people - also very clean, convenient and seeing the egret's nest outside the patio was special.
The beach chairs in the closet need attention as it was nice to have Harry Harris park near by.
Thank you.

HocusPocus NJGood for the price
Left on 05/19/2011 for a stay in November 2010
The major issues on this trip was our state of mind! We needed to get away from the NJ snow and booked what we could find that was driving distance from Miami - - we had tix that had to be used or lose 'em...so we took the kids out of school for a few days and headed South. And we got rainy weather while there.
This is a nice complex, attractive exteriors, interiors were nice, we spent a few evenings getting our happy hour on, and then ate food that was frozen and microwaved.. We saw two units. Each is done by the owner. I thought the two units we saw were under decorated. Maybe one thing on a wall that was bland...but then I like that sort of thing.
We changed the first room because it was a one bedroom, and the couch was unsleepable for our 14 year old. So we splurged for a second bedroom - - woohoo. And we were very comfortable. The kitchen was not overly stocked, but had the basics. Had we cooked a real meal, I would have been under supplied. But my guess is a call to the front desk would have quickly solved the issue.
There is a bar at the front desk. We stopped for a happy hour special, and there is no real kitchen in this bar area. If you purchase food, it is from a freezer, then heated in a microwave.
The pool was warm, but it rained so unless we were in the water, or the hot tub, I froze. And the hot tub says no one under 16, which I had a difficult time keeping my kids out when no one else seemed to be able to read. The pool area is basic, a few tables with sunbrellas and chairs. The chain link fence is a detractor. They could either put white picket on the outside and make it prettier or grow flower vines over it. They did come and spray each day to keep the mossie population down. And there were some patches that were being made to concrete that was in need. That is always nice to know they keep things up to date.
The complex is on a side road. And the entry road looks a bit sketchy, but once past the guard shack, it really has a nice space. The white with blue roof is lovely. And the price, for what we got, 2 BR with a usable kitchen was fair. There are some boats parked in the lot which doesn't look so great, but I guess if owned one, I would only be worried that I could see it from my door.
In terms of access to other places, you are on a small side road off the major two lane road that goes to Key West. This area really has limited stuff to do for spoiled brats like us. There is diving, and we did head north toward Miami to a Gator Farm which was a hoot. The xx foot long boa my kids volunteered me to be wrapped in was the favorite picture for the trip...
We ate most of our meals out, although we brought some snacks and pasta for one meal...and we had breakfast at the same place most days. Pink building just off the highway. We also went to a Churasco style place that had a buffet. They neglected to tell us the costs, and our bill was $200 for two adults and two kids. And we were not impressed. It was South of the hotel maybe 5 or 10 miles? They did have a million options, but the quality was not great.
If you are looking for a place to go to relax, let your hair down, let the kids get some sun without having to worry about exhorbitant fees, this is a good place to try. There was DQ nearby for the quick treat without having to make it a whole meal out for the kids. And there were three major brand pharmacies and a choice of two grocery chains.Response from Vacation Specialist - 02/10/2012
Owner
This guest inadvertently posted her review under my property even though I never rented my unit to her. She rented through the management company that represents most of the owners in the resort, as evidenced by the fact she requested to move from a 1/1 unit to a larger 2/2 unit. She also mentions thinking about going back to the front dest to complain about not having adaquate supplies in the kitchen.

Enjoyed our stay in comfy condo. Unfortunately weather was very cold with record lows, but we made the most of it. Plenty to see and do in the Fla Keys. Very satisfied with the accommodations at Ocean Point. Thanks.

USAVery nice condo - I recommend it

This condo at Ocean Pointe is very nice. 2 bedrooms both with connected bathrooms; comfortable beds; very clean; kitchen well equipped, nice modern furniture in good condition. The washer/dryer was wonderful to have. The cafe at Ocean Pointe is an easy drive or walkable distance away and has free wireless internet. The marina is pretty and the cafe has a good basic menu. Winn Dixie is a very short drive away. As others have said Ocean Pointe is a short drive from Key Largo and not directly on a beach - but the ocean view was beautiful and we had no problem with the location. Ocean Pointe grounds/gardens are beautifully kept and security was very good.
