Welcome to Tropical Daze Oceanfront Paradise, located in Ocean Pointe, the finest destination property in the Florida Keys. Our condo unit is right on the ocean, offering spectacular views of the purple and aquamarine waters surrounding Tavernier Key. The condo is gorgeous, extremely well maintained and has a Tommy Bahama feel mixed with the fun colors of the Bahamas.

Additional Location Information
Ocean Pointe is a 62 acre resort located about 70 miles from Miami and about 90 miles from Key West. The property has 24 hour security and is completely gated. The resort offers a private beach, fishing pier, swimming and snorkeling area, Jr. olympic pool, hot tub, tennis courts, barbecue grills, picnic tables, marina, boat ramp, boat storage, kayak rentals, on-site bar / restaurant, and more! Parking is free and convenient.
Nearby attractions include back country, reef and deep water fishing, snorkeling, diving, and glass-bottom boats on our famous coral reefs, jetski and boat rentals, para-sailing, and some of the finest, yet Keys casual, seafood restaurants in the world.
Here's a short guide to some of the things to do while in our area:
Dolphin encounters - If you never have, you should. This is surely a bucket list item.
Fishing: charter or from shore - Some of the greatest fishing on the continent. You'll see why Presidents have regularly visited the Sportfishing Capital of the World.
Glass Bottom Boat tours - view our unique undersea life...and stay dry!
Snorkeling trips - North America's only living reefs
Dive Trips - Besides our reefs, our wreck dives to the Spiegel Grove and others are legendary
Wild Bird Center - just around the corner - get up close and personal with these amazing feathered creatures.
Bike rentals - plenty of bikeways off the main roads
Motorcycle rentals - if you have a motorcycle license, you cant miss the 90 mile ride down to Key West (P.S.: It's even great by car!)
Robbie's Tarpon - Imagine hundreds of 6 foot long hungry tarpon just waiting to be fed. You and your family can experience the fun & excitement by handing feed these big boys - watch out for the plundering pelicans!
Waverunners & Jetski rentals - Be the Leader of the Pack - Tropical style
Para-sail adventure - Have you ever flown a kite? Now experience the feeling of actually BEING a kite with amazing views of the ocean.
Tiki Bar - OK, adults only at the bar...Rum Runners were first invented right here.
Dining - Hmmm, where do we start? The Fish House, Pilot House? Num Thai? Chad's? Upper Crust Pizza? Craig's Famous Fish Sandwich? Islamorada Fish Market? Island Grill? Smugglers? So much great Keys food, so little time.
Shopping is island style. Check out the landmark giant lobster at the Rain Barrel, which encompasses art galleries, a glassblower, potter, all situated within a tropical hardwood forest.
Nightlife - if you not all tuckered out from your day's activities, head on up to Coconuts in Key Largo, or the Tiki bar or Rumbottoms at the Postcard Inn. Of course, you could always check out our resort cafe and bar, or just blend up your own "boat" drink at the condo, and just watch the boats go by from our terrace. Keep an eye out for jumping eagle rays!
There's much more, but it's time for my afternoon Rum Runner. As Jimmy Buffet says, "It's Always Five O'Clock Somewhere". Now you know just where "somewhere" is.
See you down in Margaritaville!

MinnesotaWarm, Sunny, Relaxing and Enjoyable Vacation
Left on 04/25/2013 for a stay in April 2013
We were very pleased to arrive to a very well kept and exceptionally clean condo. The condo was nicely furnished and equipped with all the dishes and cooking utensils needed if you decide to prepare your own meals. Relaxation came very easy at this condo with a beautiful swimming pool equipped with plenty of loungers for everyone. Safety was optimum as this is a gated resort. We tried many of the restaurants in the area and the seafood was excellent. We especially enjoyed the Marker 88 Restaurant in Islamorada and the Islamorada Fish Company Restaurant as there was seating right next to the ocean and the food was very tasty. A very romantic spot to enjoy the sunset with my hubby. We took a day trip down to Key West which was a very nice trip and we took in the town tour and Ernest Hemingway Home & Museum tour. We recommend both of these tours. Truly a very nice warm and relaxing vacation I recommend to anyone.

Windham, MEA great place to stay and relax.

We very much enjoyed our time at Ocean Pointe and the hospitality of owner, Keith Winn. While I haven't met Keith, he communicated with me several times before arriving quickly answering questions I had about our upcoming stay. He even sent me a nice Groupon offer to consider. His condo is beautiful (love the door combo so I don't need to worry about keys). Everything we needed was there to make staying just like being at home instead of in a fancy box room. The resort is beautiful and peaceful. The staff are friendly and work hard to keep the grounds so nice. The roped in swim area at the beach while quite shallow was fun to get wet in and snorkel around a little. The pool was beautiful with a great peformer on Saturday afternoon. Thanks Keith and Ocean Pointe for sharing such a beautiful place.

Very nice condo. The condo was obviously recently updated and they paid attention to every detail. I would stay in the condo again without hesitation. The communication/ response from the owner was timely ( usually I would receive a response within a few hours). He emailed me a few days after arriving to see if I needed anything. My only complaint has nothing to do with the condo. The condo association charges for the Internet, which I knew when booking. However, the Internet is not secure. I work online so it was important to have a secure connection. Also, the Internet was slow at night when there was heavy use.

Ruth, it was great having you as our guest and so happy you enjoyed your stay at Tropical Daze. I appreciate your comments about the internet connection and will be forwarding those to the association. Typically, most hotels use an "open" Wi-Fi system. If you are concerned about security and must utilize these systems, here is an article which provides tips on security while traveling: http://howto.wired.com/wiki/Secure_your_WiFi_while_Traveling

This 2/2 condo was just perfect for our family of three. It was spotless, in a great location, and Keith was a great host! The sunrise from the private deck (actually you didn't even need to get out of bed)was truly amazing. The condo was completely stocked with everything you might need and it felt like home. Did I mention the view? I couldn't stop taking pictures. So much to do at the complex- beach was great, pool was happily crowded at times, drinks at the bar, walking though the mangroves, fish and iguanas along the boat channel...what more could you want? I rated check-in at 4 stars because we arrived an hour early and it wasn't ready yet- we drove 1100 miles and hard to calculate arrival time but it was ready at 3pm, and clean as a whistle, and we gladly burned an hour exploring the property-so no problem. We found great restaurants and attractions very near by, and the day trip to Key West was a 2 hour drive, but didn't feel like it with so much to see along the way! There was so much to do there that we asked Keith to stay another night (5 days was not enough!!)By far, this was the best vacation our family has had, I would stay again...and again. Great memories that will last a lifetime.

Owner
Yes the view is magical. We are so happy you all enjoyed your stay. I apologize for not having the condo ready exactly when you arrived, as we have had a non-stop flow of guests. We do guarantee the condo is ready at 3:00 PM. We usually have it done by 2:00 PM but the party before you probably wanted to take in some last views of the ocean and checked out a bit late, so it put our cleaning crew behind.
We're looking forward to hosting your next BEST VACATION EVER. -

Just wanted to thank you for the fabulous visit to Tropical Daze! We had a fantastic time! Everyday was another day in paradise! The condo was immaculate and accommodated our every need. The complex was lovely. We enjoyed our days at the beach, pool and pier as well as fishing at the marina. The folks at the complex were most helpful and the other tenants were quite friendly. Dining on the Keys was incredible - not a bad meal to be had. Thanks for the reprieve from the long pa winter! We would love to come back!
