Georgetown, KentuckyFantastic Family Vacation
Left on 02/28/2013 for a stay in February 2013
Our three families gathered here for a week in February and had a fantastic time. The house is well appointed, represented accurately, and more than comfortable for nine people and an infant. The setting is beautiful and serene. Watching the sun come up and the cranes fish each morning with my small son was a welcome relief from our typical morning rush. Although we left for excursions around the keys, I'm certain we had more fun at the house. Hours were spent in the pool, fishing off the dock, sitting on the lanai, and enjoying meals in the kitchen. I was especially appreciative of the variety of sand toys and pool floats on site for small children. The owner is helpful and easy to work with.

Brad your house and site were wonderful...I have two comments:
1. It would be helpful to have instructions on how to connect to and use your printer; and
2. The two (2) high pressure sodium vapor street lights that flood the community park with a repulsive amount of nighttime lighting must go. They are flat out awful: they eliminate the visibility of the nighttime sky, and they ruin the outdoor experience of your villa's site as well as the neighborhood at large. They should be replaced with sensibly designed pedestrian scale lighting with a non-visible light source (shielded lamps).
Response from Brad Levine - 02/18/2013

I am glad the guest loved the house and had a great vacation. I can certainly provide instructions to the printer - but as for the redesign of the county's street lighting, not sure if this is doable. In fact, I personally like the fact the street is safely lit.

MinnesotaGreat place, especially for little kids
Left on 02/06/2013 for a stay in January 2013
We just got done staying at the house in Jan. We had a great time! We saw a dolphin, shark, a crane we named Larry (he got real close to our fisherman on the dock). Do you think he was hoping to get a fish? Iguanas, fish and there was a festival going on so we saw great fireworks. The sunsets were great. It was easy to get groceries, there was a large grocery store near by. Two of our people went to swim with the dolphins. I was leery because I don't really want to see the dolphins kept in captivity. This was a really nice place and you could tell the owners really cared about the animals and their health. It was called Theatre of the Sea. We also went snorkeling at John Pennecamp State Park. It was Ok, we went on a day the visibility wasn't the greatest. Saw lots of Barracuda. The house is a good house for little kids, there is a fence all around, a pool to swim in. Lots of life jackets except no small toddler ones, although there are lots of blow up swimmies you put on their arms. If you have little kids and they like to lock the doors that could be a problem as there is no way to unlock the door from the outside, except to put something in the hole and turn. We couldn't find any tools so we used a hot dog stick which we found in the room with all the beach stuff. It worked. Brad you may want to have a screwdriver or two in case of emergencies like that. All in all an awesome place. Thanks.

Our family of 5 adults and 2 small children gathered at Casa de Ivy to celebrate a birthday. The house was just as described. It is well appointed and very comfortable. We stayed in one night and made crab dip, grilled fish with mango salsa, and had s'mores for dessert around the fire. The exterior is amazing - no need to go anywhere else - just stay and enjoy the beach, the pool, the fire pit, the swings, the covered patios and on and on. Awesome spaces to relax and enjoy family and friends.

Greenville, FLIncredible Family Vacation
Left on 01/22/2013 for a stay in January 2013
We absolutely loved this house! I fact so much so that we reserved for two weeks next year before I wrote the review to make sure that we could get the dates we wanted.
We were at Casa De Ivy from January 6 to January 13. We had eight adults - me and my husband, both in our fifties, and three of our grown children (youngest 19) with their wife/boyfriends. Though I am sure there are all sorts of fabulous hikes and other things we could have done in the Key Largo area, we spent almost every minute on the property - reading by the pool, playing volleyball, fishing off the dock, kayaking, watching sunsets, playing games around the kitchen island. Everyone had their own room and bathroom, and the public spaces were so conducive to hanging out together. We saw every bird imaginable in the time we were there (including parrots), a manatee hanging around by the dock, an incredible male iguana showing off for a couple of lady friends, and dolphins swimming by nightly. My husband and our son even kayaked with a pod of over 20 of them one evening. On another kayak ride, our future son-in-law proposed to our daughter, something he had not planned to do here, but was having such a great time that he couldn't think of a better place to celebrate their engagement.
We especially liked the kitchen island and porch off the kitchen - nightly snacks watching the sunset and dinner all at the table. We hardly went out at all because it was so easy and relaxed to eat at home. The pool is small (no lap swimming) but perfect for jumping in too cool off after sunbathing. The fire pit is a blast and we had s'mores several nights.
Brad is a great owner to work with - answers all questions quickly, easy to reach, always accommodating. He has put together a rental that is outfitted more like a cherished vacation home with no detail overlooked. I can't recommend this property more highly.

What an amazing property, from the well appointed house to the pool to the beach. We rented for a birthday trip with friends, and couldn't have enjoyed it more. Brad has done a great job setting the house up with everything you need to stay on property for days on end.
The description of the house doesn't do it justice, it's all accurate but better. We spent most of the time on the upper porch (our favorite), in the pool, or on the beach, never needing to head out for activities.Response from Brad Levine - 01/17/2013

Rochester, NYLuxurious long weekend
Left on 12/22/2012 for a stay in December 2012
This house on the beach is beautiful. The owner Brad did s wonderful job rehabbing the home, the property and building the dock with great attention to detail. The landscaping, outdoor lighting and the pool are gorgeous. The multiple swings, outdoor shower, fishing gear and kayak added to the fun. The electric gate is a great feature too. There are some very nice extra amenities inside the house that we appreciated. The kitchen is all new and it's wonderful to be able to seat 10 people at the kitchen island. The bathrooms are lovely and the sound systems are terrific. We had a delightful, long, relaxing weekend there. I would have liked to rate this property a 4.5 out of 5, which is not an option on this site. The only reason I did not give it a 5 star rating is because it was a little pricier than other comparable properties I have rented in Turks and Caicos and the Cayman Islands.

Rochester, MNSeriously Beautiful, Immaculately Kept, Totally Equipped
Left on 10/08/2012 for a stay in October 2012
This property is in a primo location. The natural beauty in the pictures is bettered in person. In addition to the natural surroundings, the owner has landscaped the place to perfection. Beautiful flowers, raked sand, walkways where you need them, even an outdoor shower.
Inside the place does not disappoint. Roomy, spacious, and fully equipped. You will think you just walked into your own home. Tv's in every room, every needed amenity in the kitchen, seating for 8 comfortably around a huge island in the kitchen, wine fridge, the list goes on. Beds are comfortable with quality bedding.
On the upper and lower porche/patio there is ample patio furniture (4 or 5 couches, at least that many chairs, patio tables, etc), 3 different bench swings, a patio table around the pool, a picnic table near the mangroves, and a ton of adirondic chairs on the beach around the fire pit.
The pool is well done, clean, and cool. Just what the doctor ordered to cool off.
We never swam in the sound, but waded in a few times. We saw some dolphins off the dock one morning chasing up some bait fish into the shallows.
We were there with three couples and never felt cramped. Easily 2 families of 4 could stay or even 4 couples. When at Casa de Ivy, you felt as if you were in your own personal resort. It was private and the perfect respite from days out and about.
The owner was extremely easy to deal with and very accommodating to our needs.Response from Brad Levine - 10/08/2012

I'll try to keep it short and sweet which is hard with a great place like this--the house and property is as pictured and described if not somehow amazingly better, everything is top of the line, the owner could not have been friendlier or more accommodating with our group, and this is feedback coming from people who were there during Hurricane Isaac so...if you are looking for a property in this part of the world, stop looking and pick up the phone, talk to the owner Brad...

Left on 08/16/2012 for a stay in August 2012
I have stayed in the Keys every year not for the last 10 years and this has been by far the best home we have ever rented. It really met our needs with the space, sleeping arrangements, the salt water pool, the jet sking from the beach, the sunsets on the dock and the games around the kitchen table at night. The home is open, clean, relaxing and comfortable. As a Real Estate Broker and Property Manager I am very picky when it comes to having a home away from home and this home will not disappoint you at all. I highly recommend it and I will be returning again next year.

We stayed a week at Casa de Ivy with two families and what a blast it was! In this house everything is brand new and top quality. Brad (the owner) was great to deal with and the Trish (the manager) took care of us while we were in Key Largo. Not only did she come over when we checked in to make sure everything was perfect, but she was a local resource for us all through the week when we needed to find anything.
The dock and little swim beach were great, so much so that at the end of the week my wife mentioned that she had never left the house by anything but our boats. That's how all vacations should be!
We went snorkeling on the ocean side reefs (convenient cut through to ocean side is less than a mile south within Blackwater sound), did mangrove tours in John Pennekamp preserve and went to various restaurants all by boat! What a treat.
The house is on the very northern end of Key Largo, so no outbound traffic to deal with when you are leaving the Keys and of course all the convenient shopping of northern Key Largo is right there. Not that you ever need to see the stores (ask my wife!) because if you stay at the Casa, with a nature preserve to the north and very quiet private park to the south, you can easily imagine that you are the only ones in Key Largo.
For us the weather did not play along (tropical storm Debbie saw to that), but in retrospect we didn't even notice. We had such a great time! Thanks!

To anyone Seeking a Rental Property in Key Largo-
This property is a gem. From a private beach, to private pool, to a shower with seven shower heads and all the Florida wildlife you could ask for, this is the perfect getaway for your family or friends.
While a guest in this home, I was able to kayak with manatees, fish from the dock, and was even able to spot a 12 foot sawfish! There is a speaker system set up throughout the house which was perfect for hooking up our Ipod to and creating added atmosphere for the family to enjoy while swimming for barbequing delicious seafood.
Mr. Levine, the home owner, was a pleasure to work with and to him our family gives great thanks for allowing us to be his guests in his own personal paradise.

Look no further, you have found a perfect home!!! Absolutely the best setting for a short getaway or a long stay. This home has everything, beautiful piece of property with a private beach, pool, open and secluded at the same time, clean, new, tastefully decorated with a smallest detail thought through. If you like to cook the kitchen has everything from pots and pans, to perfect wine glasses, even all the spices are included. If cooking is not your thing, the owner has a pamphlet with recommended restaurants in the area that are worth your try. The house is very spacious and can accomodate a large party of people and still feel that there is plenty of room. We were 8 adults and 1 child. Had the best time relaxing on the large open patio with comfortable couches and armchairs, watching the most gorgeous sunsets in the world. Fishing was great for the guys, caught yellowtail and tuna for the best dinner on the grill, which we had outside. If you are looking for something a little more special than just a nice house in the Keys, this place is for you. Can not find one negative thing, even if you try...

Casa De Ivy Its truly designed as a resort with a feeling of home. We relaxed in the pool, enjoyed a volleyball game, cooked in the amazing spacious kitchen over viewing the bay, dinned while Delighting the magnificent sunset, and had s'mores as desert over the fire pit. Like that does not describe perfection we had the luck of being surprised by a family of dolphins playing just passed the ample beach. Its location affords the opportunity to experience snorkeling, canoeing, fishing, boating, Jet skiing, diving or para-sailing. Its stylish architecture allowed all 12 of us just to relax in the quiet or laugh and share family time together. I would definitely recommend Casa De Ivy for anyone who always dreamed of a dream vacation or celebration on a piece of heaven on earth!

Left on 04/04/2012 for a stay in March 2012
This is a lovely house, recently renovated with very high quality materials throughout. Even better than the house is the location, right on the beach, with sunsets directly visible from nearly every room. Best of all is an owner who really cares about both the property and his guests.
We looked at quite a number of possibilities for a multi-generation family vacation. The clincher for this home was the very friendly and accommodating owner, Brad.
The house is quite large, and easily held our family of five plus four Grandparents. We love to cook, and the kitchen is well-equipped and, while not large, decently sized to handle dinner for nine. Bedrooms are comfortable and well thought out, most having French doors opening to either the main level or the balcony, both of which overlook the bay. The upper level deck is spacious and comfortable. The pool is small but clean and refreshing, not to mention pretty. A brand new dock, firepit, outdoor shower, picnic tables - clearly the owner put a lot of thought into making it a special spot.
Speaking of the owner, Brad is really willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything runs smoothly. We had one minor maintenance glitch, and he was immediately accessible and promptly got it fixed.
It is close to Pennecamp State Park, snorkeling & diving, fishing, grocery stores, and a number of restaurants ranging from fast food to quirky to fairly upscale.
I would recommend it without hesitation to anyone, unless they want to rent it during one of the weeks we want it...Response from Brad Levine - 04/11/2012

Review Submitted March 27, 2012
My immediate family recently converged upon Key Largo for a week to celebrate my 70th birthday as well as my grand twins 7th birthdays- traveling all the way from San Diego, Tempe and San Jose. Brad's beach home proved to be exactly what we wanted. It was very well decorated and proved to be very functional for our stay. The newly renovated beach house provided a excellent setting for the five grand kids to play and be entertained with the pool and sandy beach. The use of the kayak was quite fun as well, enabling local exploration by water. The parents enjoyed sipping wine and Margaritas on the veranda, while watching incredible sunsets. We all enjoyed a great vacation, wonderful birthday celebrations, and good family time in Key Largo. Brad provided excellent communication and was a great host for our trip. Now, if only the pool was heated...then perfect. Jack

What an amazing family Thanksgiving vacation we had at your home in the Keys. The kids were able to have fun in by the pool, and beach, as my husband and I watched and relaxed. Being able to bring out boat was a huge benefit, as your dock was perfect. We look forward to many more stays at your residence. As your spacious home is comfortable and well laid out.

My family spent Christmas at Casa de Ivy. What a comfortable, quiet, lovely place for the family to spend quality time together. Twelve people can sleep comfortably in this five bedroom, four bath home. The heart of the home is the great room which has a beautiful new kitchen with a hugh island that seats ten. The adjoining living room has that magnificent view of Blackwater Sound. The back yard has a pool with an extremely large deck for sunbathing and a dock to fish from or launch your boat from. With a wall on two sides of the property, a mangrove reserve on another side and the bay on the forth side, you have all the privacy you need. All in all Casa de Ivy makes for a great family get away.
