Seattle,WAGreat location but pretty loud
Left on 01/09/2013 for a stay in January 2013
Some friends and I stayed here over New Year's 2013 and had a great time. The location is perfect, the condo is clean, neighbors were quiet. It's like a home away from home and has everything you could need to be comfortable for a week or more.
There were a few things we didn't like. For instance, the master bedroom is right over a chicken hangout and the garbage pickup. All night long it's either chickens or loud garbage trucks or police cars or fire trucks. And the chickens... oh my god. They start at 1am and roost right underneath the master bedroom. Bring your earplugs!
Also, We kind of wished that for $3500 we had more than just basic cable. "Why would you watch TV in Key West?!" you ask. Well there were a few mornings where yes, we'd had a bit to drink and sitting on the couch with the TV was a great option before heading out again. Also there was no HD channel service for the nice Hdtv! Aww, come on! It's $10/month.
Anyway these are minor complaints. The drop box system to pick up and drop off the keys after hours was great and we didn't have any trouble making the arrangements or dealing with the staff. They were helpful.
Overall, I give it thumbs up. -

Miami, FLGreat Location and Super Clean!
Left on 08/10/2012 for a stay in August 2012
We had 6 people staying at the Duval Sea Turtle for 3 nights. The condo had plenty of space and was spotless. The location was ideal as we can walk to the beach as well as all of the shops, bars, and historic sites Key West has to offer. I definitely recommend this condo and would love to return!

Left on 04/27/2012 for a stay in April 2012
We stayed here and everything was nice. There was more than enough sleeping space for us and having 2.5 bathrooms was great. Three nice working TVs helped out on a rainy day. And when the sun was out the pool was nice and larger than I expected.
It is a decent 20-25 minute walk to the rowdy bar areas of Duval Street. That said the apartment is away from the party noise (not away from rooster noise!) which is nice.
Also, as the apartment was cleaned they let our group check in a hour or so early which was really nice and shows that the management is easy to work with. -

48562Overall a really nice condo
Left on 01/12/2012 for a stay in October 2011
This was a really nice and well kept condo in a great location. Just about everything is within walking distance so even though there is parking, you really don't need a car. I did not notice any mold which was stated in a previous review. Unit is on the Simonton St end so you hear some occasional traffic noise and the occasional noisy rooster but it was rarely bothersome.
The people from the rental company (At Home Key West) were very extremely nice and helpful. I would definitely rent from them again.
Positives:
Location, cleanliness, well stocked kitchen, parking, value
Negatives:
Balcony faces the back of CVS so if the dumpsters have not been recently emptied, the balcony can be a bit smelly (never got any odors inside). The only other negative was the daily early morning wake up from noisy leaf blower. -

South Plainfield, New JerseyComfortable, Clean and Stylish Condo
Left on 07/16/2011 for a stay in July 2011
The Condo was nicely decorated. It was clean and comfortable. The enclosed porch and parking garage had one negative. The smell of garbage. Also hearing trucks coming and going from the strip mall behind the Condo could be bothersome. It was okay for us because we were only here for a short while. We also had an incident where our girls new bathing suits were bleached by the pool and their eyes burned for hours after their swim. But the Condo unit itself was very nice and well equipped with kitchenware and towels.

Everything was great. The condo was everything the website promised. Except I would strongly recommend ear plugs for all but the heaviest sleepers to block out the noisy roosters, began crowing at 3 a.m., and the delivery trucks for the store behind our unit, starting at 6 a.m. After we got the ear plugs we slept peacefully.

The place was really nice I would have preferred the Babula but the price was to high. We was with my aunt, uncle, and mother all in there 80's so the steps were a little ruff. The view of Duval was awesome. Really needs a grill as to enjoy some fresh seafood for a couple of evenings in. The ice maker was very slow and the shower in the guest bedroom upstairs was very weak, but all in all we had a great time will see you in 2 years.

Columbus, OHdon't bother trying to sleep in
Left on 07/07/2010 for a stay in June 2010
The Duval Sea Turtle is a nice condo in an unfortunate location. On the back side of the condo you'll find a trash compactor, a large generator, and the rear entrance to Papa John's, CVS, and a few other stores. I can get by the looks of the generator and the odor of the compactor. However, the semi truck deliveries to CVS are extremely loud.
The condo is very clean and comfortable. Also, the complex is nice with secure parking, discrete entrances, and good location. However, if you plan on sleeping your vacation away, I would stay somewhere else.Response from At Home In Key West, Inc. - 04/11/2011

Thank you for taking the time to review our home.
Conveniently located on Duval Street in the heart of Old Town Key West, the city that never sleeps, you are in walking distance of everything the island has to offer. Consequently, the sounds of the city are an integral part of the experience. Typically, our guests are devising ways to limit sleep to enjoy Key West to the fullest!
We hope to see you again. -

Left on 02/04/2010 for a stay in January 2010
Four sisters found the accomadations perfect for a weeks vacation. Everything we wanted was there. The unit was clean and inviting. Only room that needs attention is the porch area. Real dreary with dead plants. But, we had not reason to use that room. Location was perfect as we could walk most places and used our rented vehicle very little.

Left on 01/21/2010 for a stay in January 2010
Everything was nice and neat. The townhome is wonderful and has almost everything someone would need. It was a little chilly at times. If the owner would add a couple warm fuzzy throws on the couch and chair it would be a plus. Especially for us that get cold as we get tired from a great day & night out! The master bedroom could use some windows that block the street noise. ( I know the roosters have fun crowing but starting at 318am got us laughing. Then we wanted to "ring their little necks" by the end of the stay.
The property by the pool needs refreshing. The pool was not heated as we were told, and it really should be listed a dipping pool. You certainly can't do laps! There are many broken lounge chairs and trash was laying around. Since it was a little to cool to jump into a cold pool we skipped that part altogether.
For two couples or maybe a family gathering it is a great location and the price was right.

Thank you for taking the time to review our home. We appreciate your recommendations for making the home "warm and fuzzy", and having a sense of humor about our beloved roosters that are as much a part of the Old Town experience as Duval Street. The common areas of this complex have been revived with lots of lush plants along the walkway and the pool area is being diligently maintained. The pool size is typical of Key West standards and is not advertised as heated. Please visit us again sometime!

Left on 08/31/2009 for a stay in July 2009
We had a wonderful vacation at Key West. we enjoyed out stay at the Duval Sea Turtle. This is a beautiful town home that offered all the amenities needed for our stay. We never saw the staff of At Home in KEy West but that was OK because they made it super easy to get our keys and directions.
The Kitchen of the Sea Turtle was great....as were the living areas. Our least favorite thing about the Town home was the odor of the dumpters below the balconies. It was pretty bad and if you have smokers in your group they will not enjoy the outside balconies. for that matter you could not really enfoy the balconies at all.
This did not stop us from enjoying our stay and if we are back in Key WEst we will stay there again...
Thank You,

When we decided to visit Key West for my birthday this year, we were unsure where to stay. Luckily, my daughter found this unit online. It's appointed well, comfortable, and central to all there is to do in Key West on Duval Street. It's even within walking distance from Mallory Square (if you don't mind a longish walk). Dining and drinking options abound just downstairs, and you can relax in the pool overlooking Duval. Bring friends, bring family, but go and enjoy yourself. If you can't enjoy yourself here, you don't belong in Key West!

AlabamaHell in Paradise
Left on 08/06/2009 for a stay in July 2009
While the Duvall Sea Turtle is a nice unit for a week in Paradise, the management is less than desirable. The unit was nice and the furnishings were appropriate.Access to Duvall St is convenient.Parking is OK but dark and dirty.
The dishwasher, washing machine, garbage disposal, and A/C units and filters are poorly maintained. All of these issues should be identified during cleaning between guest.Detailed inspections avoid stupid mistakes. Two washcloths in a unit that had been cleaned and inspected.Front door doesn't latch when closed.
Garbage disposal was full of decomposing garbage and the reset button had been tripped. We had to fix and clean in order to remove the unpleasant odor before we unpacked.
Dawn is good! However the customer service / maintenance beyond the initial check-in is substandard. After hour calls require a message to be left and are not retrieved until the next morning. A/C went out. Message left at 7:00AM. Repairs not made until 12 hours later with 90+ temp in unit. After several calls to the office and many excueses the young men from the A/C company arrived. They were very apologetic and stated if they had been contacted they would have been here first thing that morning. They stated that when At Hoime in Key West calls they leave what they are working on to take care of their customers first. It ended up needing a new thermostat and took 45 min to repair.
The balconies had not been cleaned and the furniture definitely had not had any attention. For non-spoking unit it was interesting to find several ash trays inside and outside the unit.
Overall our trip was good. The day lost due to the A/C not working was bad. However, we would have been a little more patient had the staff been a little more compassionate and honest. Ethics and integrity go along way in shaping the reputation of a business. To this day we have not recieved any communication from At Home in Key West as to whether the A/C was cooling.

I hade a great time at the Duval Sea Turtle. It is centrally located and well stocked with everyday items. My only issue was the rooster that was camped under my bedroom window. He was very loud and relentless almost every morning. Perhaps he is living there temporarily. I still enjoyed the sights and sounds of KW from here.

This is an fanastic property in a great location at a reasonable price. Beingjust steps from Duval Street is a huge benfit. The property is outfitted with everything one could want. Our only neagtive was that upon arrival and reporting the air conditioning not working, it took two days and several calls to get it fixed. Sleeping with the doors and windows open for two nights "intensified" the 1:30 am rooster experience but yuo need to bring earplugs for the roosters anyway.

Very nice place. Stayed for almost a week and found it quite comfortable. Surprised at all the amenities. Only thing we werent used to during our time there was the fact it is at the "far" end of Duval from where we normally stay. I don't drive or ride anything when in Key West I only walk and it a ways down to the other end of Duval. Probably would not be a deterrent from staying there again next time. Nice mix of owner occupants and vacationers at the location. All good.

This was our second stay here, so we obviously liked it when we were here in 2004! The condo has everything in it to make you feel at home. It is in a perfect location; close enough to all the main attractions on Duval Sreet, yet far enough away from all the noisy crowds that come with that. We preferred to walk just about everywhere we went because of parking issues, and the secured garage is also a nice feature. Checking in and out was also a bresze. We would highly recommend this place and will probably stay here again in the future.

Left on 11/07/2008 for a stay in January 2007
The property is as described and the location right off Duval is a perfect central location to explore Key West. The master-suite was wonderful and we were happy the unit provides off-street parking. I chose this property based on location, parking and use of pool. Unfortunately the pool area was under repair during our stay so we were not able to enjoy it.
While the unit was very well appointed I would not stay there again because of the noise from the garbage trucks and the roosters. The resturants in the lower level of the units were nice but the noise of glass bottles being dumped in metal containers and trash trucks grinding up the trash made for an unpleasant early morning wake-up call.
