Oh my goodness... When we made plans to go to Key West, we wanted to kayak, snorkel, seaplane to Dry Tortugas, and never did one of these things. This condo was so addictive, from the balcony and poolside views of the ocean, to the daily sitings of iguanas, birds feeding when tide went out, and full moon shining on the water through the sliding glass doors while falling asleep on one of the most comfortable mattresses we've ever slept on! We were so content to just enjoy this place. Check in after hours was easy picking up a key at the office. When we officially checked in, we were given lots of coupons. We did venture out for a sunset catamaran sail complete with band and refreshments, rented bikes, and caught a few sunsets on the north side. The weather was a little chilly, but this condo faces south, so the northern winds were blocked. We had the sliding glass doors open most of the time (without a/c being on) so there was a constant indoor/outdoor feel. Dated, but comfortable, clean, and secure. Seaweed? Yes, but did not smell. Can still walk out to sand bars. Would definitely rent again!

We were more than pleased with our unit and with the pre-checkin service provided by Rent Key West Vacations. The view of the ocean could not have been better unless you were on a yacht in the ocean. The unit was perfect for 2 couples sharing as both bedrooms had their own bath and privacy. Kitchen was beautifully equipped with everything you could need to include washer/dryer. Underground parking for car and rental bikes. We took along hair dryers but found that the unit was equipped with 4!! Abundance of bath and beach towels. Two pools to choose from - one heated to nearly 100* and the other a bit cooler, probably in the high 80's. Did not have a single problem with the unit or the rental folks at Rent Key West. Highly recommended

The apartment was great overall. Very spacious and clean and there was a lot provided that I did not expect (ie batteries, beach towels, beach bags, fishing pole, coolers etc). The facility was very nice with great pool and grilling areas and a fitness center. The spacious balcony and views cannot be beat. The area was within walking distance of all the action of Duvall (about a 40 min walk to Sloppy Joes) but still far enough away to enjoy some peace and quiet. Slight wear and tear on furniture and walls but nothing you can't get over. Awesome experience overall! Can't wait to go back

West Chester,PAWhat a fabulous view and amazing balcony!
Left on 07/11/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We arrived in Key West the week prior to July 4th and we brought good weather with us according to the locals at Winn Dixie! This was our first & night vacation and our first trip to Key West after vacationing in other warm places(Orlando,Bahamas and Cancun). This was by the best of all. Our condo. was comfy, clean, and spacious for us and our two boys(14 and 10 yrs .old). The grounds and the pool are beautiful and well maintained and we like the idea of being in a gated community. We were close to everything, it's easy to get around and familiarize yourself and we had plenty of maps and things to do/see. Rent Key West was very helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and available!
The morning and evening views was amazing, calming and just a sight!! We also liked the hammock and the chairs outside to sit and read in the evening(lights out there are good) or morning. Kids loved their room, bathroom and having their own t.v.
We look forward to returning and staying at this unit. Our only small complaint would be to upgrade some things in the kitchen(the silverware drawer is about the break),some new dishtowels/potholders, some plastic cups vs. glass and we needed chip/bag clips. Again these are small things, nothing that is going to stop us from returning. We would recommend it to others and return for sure. -

Portland, Mainequiet and relaxing, wonderful time with our three kids!
Left on 05/10/2012 for a stay in April 2012
We rented this on recommendation from trip advisor...it was a lovely as it was described. The beds were fantastic!!! The furniture comfortable for a vacation house. Linens plentiful. Kitchen well enough stocked with cooking stuff, even a few spices, etc that had been passed along with renters. The balcony was the place to be, beautiful view of the ocean especially at dusk when the birds come to feed.
The complex is between two sandy beaches, but the beach and water in front of the Beach Club were very seaweedy to the point of gross at times. We didn't want to walk on the sea grass beds in fear of harming them, but wanted to snorkel. I am sure we would have figured it out but a three day wind storm churned up the water to the point of not even trying to snorkel through the muck. The pool that overlooks the water was spectacular, simple and well appointed deck area. Truly well designed deck area both for viewing the ocean and relaxing.
Only draw backs were the lack of check in information. Although we had done extensive research prior to coming we felt pretty lost the first few days. Grocery stores listings might indicate that Fausto's is the closest and easiest to find (especially on foot or bike). Nearby restaurant listings would also have been helpful that first night. Fliers for attractions, museums, excursions also would be helpful. Not everyone travels with computers that are good for lengthy web searches.
To end, we are a family of 5, 3 kids 6,8 and 11 and were comfortable and the kids loved!!! Key West.

It's a little pricey, an area where real estate really has held its price and you can see why when you stay here. Located between the tourist activity beach snatchers and the local Higgs beach with cafe etc near to southernmost point. Nice area lots of locals rather than full of tourists. If you wander to the peri in the evening you see an enthusiastic game of bowls, dog walkers in the dog park, kids playing in the play area and as everywhere in key west lots of chickens.
The apartment feels secure surrounded by gates there is a designated parking space and area in front of it to chain bikes that you might rent while staying. There are two pools both good swimming sizes. The grill at the pool was easy to use well maintained and easy to clean post use. I did not use the gym and therefore cannot comment but the area was very well maintained and clean.
Inside the mirrors make it feel very spacious. The kitchen is fully stocked and has everything you need. There are plenty of cups, glasses bowls etc but some are a little dated a few have small chips. The tv has a good range of channels and the sofas are comfortable.
The beds were clean and comfy a good size and the bathrooms were of a good standard. Love the huge bath in the main bedroom. The tv in the second bedroom is out of date and therefore doesn't work so that could do with a slight update when they get round to it but was not an inconvenience at all.
The best part was the beautiful balcony view onto the ocean, comfy chairs a table to eat your breakfast on while watching the boats and early jet skis and a massive comfy hammock to rest in. My father liked the telescope to he could watch the sailboats in the distance.
Any issues were dealt with quickly I reported a faulty tap in the morning and by the time we arrived home in the evening it had been replaced! The rental company couldn't be more helpful. It was a wonderful holiday and we will probably rent again. -
Disappointed family of 4
Nashville, TNThis place is an absolute dump! Do not rent!
Left on 03/28/2012 for a stay in March 2012
The bottom line is that we have been terribly disappointed in the unit.
My wife had stayed prior in units #104 and #112 at Beach Club, and we assumed that #103 would be similar. It is not. They are lovely. Unit #103 is, for want of a better word, a real dump.
When we arrived, many items were broken, and we gave a long punch list to the management company. To their credit, a handyman arrived on our third day there, and fixed about half of these items. (Among the broken items: TV, disposal, screen doors, lights hanging by a wire, shades, and so on.) Apparently, nobody checks these units before a guest arrives. But there is the bigger question of maintenance of standards. The owners in unit #103 clearly have put no money into their unit in years. The rugs are nasty and haven't been cleaned in years. The pillows are stained. The furniture is tired, old, dusty and also hasn't been cleaned in years. There is paint peeling off the walls. There is rust. The floor hasn't been mopped since who knows when? Clearly, it's the owner's right to keep their place as nasty as they chose but it is incumbent upon the rental agent to maintain standards or take it out of the rental pool. We paid more than $3,800 for unit #103. This is a real rip-off, considering the dilapidated and unclean nature of the condo. We would highly suggest to Rent Key West that this unit be taken out of the rental pool until it is updated, or the price is reduced significantly to reflect the inexcusable upkeep.
We asked the management company to move us into a unit more appropriate for the price we are paying, but none was available. We hope with this review to protect others from getting ripped off as we did. Caveat Emptor.

Our maintenance crew actually met at the property with these guests at the begining of thier stay for a walk through and fixed many of the items that they suggested as problematic. The garbage disposal has been fixed and the carpets were cleaned, again. The housekeeper has increased his staff when cleaning between bookings to insure us the condo will be thoroughly cleaned for the incoming guests. We also check and prep everyone of our properties before each guest arrives. With many beach front condos, the issue of smooth operating screeen doors and sliding doors becomes an evertlasting issue though we try to keep up with it within the best of our abilities.

The Condominium was "clean" which is the most important thing above location and comfort. The condominium itself was great. I will make the follwing comments for the purposes of constructive criticism only.
1. The faucet in the kitchen sink was worked but it is of poor quality and outdated.
2. The Master Bedroom blinds are not working and broken.
3. The shower fixture in the MBR Bathroom is not working correctly and proably should be replaced.
That being said we were very pleased with the Condominium.
Something that only Mother Nature could fix is the terrible pungent odor provided by the seaweed on Eastern Side of Key West. Really strong and really a negative. Not sure if it is a seasonal thing or what could be done if anything to change it.Response from Rent Key West Vacations - 08/23/2011

We thank this guest for their review and we will address the 3 issues you mentioned. As far as the pungent smell..this is a common occurrence through out the Florida Keys Beaches in the heat of the Summer months

We had a very enjoyable stay. Everything was just great from the awesome view overlooking the ocean to the fully equipped kitchen (we like to cook) to the fantastic fresh water pool which is also right next to the ocean. The condo was spacious, clean and comfy. The only improvement we would make would be to purchase a larger TV. I know you don't go to Key West to watch TV but at times it would be nice.
We like to watch march madness and I had a problem seeing the scores.
We would definitely stay there again!
Thank You!

Don't get me wrong, it's a really nice rental unit. It's just not worth what they are asking. We rent condos all over the U.S. and this was the highest priced yet - and with far less than we usually get.
Pros
-It IS right on the Ocean.
-It has a lovely balcony and lots of room inside.
-The Sunrises into the unit and it's very pretty.
-The vibe in the unit is very relaxed and comfy.
-There were enough staples in the cabinet to make an entire meal if you are so inclined.
-There are beach toys, an umbrella, and a stroller in the hall closet.
Cons
- The exterminator showed up one morning while we were still sleeping - WITHOUT NOTICE! He proceeded to ring the doorbell once and then use his key to get in. We are not modest people and luckily I was just up and had put my PJ's on to go sit on the balcony. If he had walked in on any of us, but especially on my 13yo daughter - I would have been outraged! I made him leave. This was very disturbing.
- The seaweed that accumulates on the beachy area outside the balcony stinks to high-heaven. Toward the end of our week, we couldn't even sit out there because of the stink.
- The beach area outside the complex is full of glass and not tumbled sea glass, but sharp massive amounts of glass. Don't let your kids play here and don't go barefoot.
- Landscapers come out and cleaned up the bushes under our balcony. This infested our balcony with mites. Yes, I know the exterminator could have taken care of that but it took us days to figure out what was going on. I was the only one having reactions to the bites. We thought for a while, that it was bed bugs, but it wasn't - just a no-see-ums but they were awful.
- The TV is too tiny to be of any real use. And because of the set-up, there is no real sound barrier between the Living Room and the Master BDRM.
- There is no DVD Player, so we couldn't watch the movies we brought.
Would we stay here again? Yes, but only for $850-$1000 less.

We are very satisfied with Rent Key West Vacations. The staff was very helpful. We stayed at Key West Beach Club. We were extremely pleased with the Condo we rented, very comfortable, beautiful views of the ocean, it was better than we expected. The kitchen was nicely equipped. We could have used a better vacuum and the washer & dryer combo was very noisy. The pool and grill area were wonderful. The only down side was the construction going on in front of the pool along the shore. Very dusty and noisy. All in all we would definitely stay here again.
