Winter Park, FloridaWhat a way to turn 70
Left on 07/30/2012 for a stay in July 2012
Our planned trip to Key West started out by finding out that our original reservation thru Craigs List was a scam.
Vacation rentals was our saviour. I called and the very days we needed were open.
When we arived, all 7, we loved the atmosphire of the home. It was like being part of Key West with its "Home Feeling", not that sterile new lodging.
The service was great. I don't know how many times I called for information, and each time they were polite, and they had the answer.
We will return to Key West, and hopefully It will de avalible.
I have nothing bad to say, all was good. -

Left on 05/17/2012 for a stay in May 2012
We were in KW for a wedding and I'm so glad we rented a house instead of all of us being in separate hotel rooms! It was great to be able to cook meals and not have to eat out all the time.
The people at Key West Vacation Rentals were all really helpful and courteous throughout all our communications. We arrived early from the West Coast and they were able to accommodate us for an earlier-than-normal check-in. They stored our bags at the office and delivered them to the house so we wouldn't have to lug them ourselves after we picked up the keys.
When we rolled up to the house, I've got to admit that the lane it's on looks kinda sketchy (it is shared by the andrews Inn and a couple of private homes)...it doesn't exactly have "curb appeal", but we felt totally safe the whole time we were there. There are multiple locks on the front and back doors, which concerned some of the reviewers, but any destination crawling with tourists is bound to have it's share of crime-of-opportunity thieves (or worse), so it's better to be safe than sorry. There is a coded safe in the middle bedroom as well.
The house was exactly as described and everything was clean and well furnished. And most importantly, there were working air conditioners in every bedroom and the living room. Because we had them running the whole time, we didn't hear any street noise, but even so - the Lane is so quiet and this is the quieter end of Duval so you may not be kept awake by revelers. We used the private back yard with the hot tub all day long.
We had absolutely no problems with bugs of any kind inside the house. In fact, we remarked on how we didn't see any ants or bugs at all.
The daily visit from house keeping was a nice touch to refresh towels, empty garbage, and make up beds.
Note: there are a couple of things that the descriptions don't mention (or at least I don't recall seeing them): you have access to two really nice gated pools that are about a block and a half away -- a nice quiet adult Pool, which is open till 6; and a Family Pool that is open till 10; and there is also a washer/dryer in a shed out back, which I don't think I saw mentioned anywhere either.
I will definitely rent from Key West Vacation Rentals again. -

My husband and a group of friends stayed here for a "Jack & Jill" Bachellor(ette) party weekend for our best friends. This place was perfect! There were 7 of us, 3 couples... and with 3 bedrooms that gave everyone a little privacy, plus there was a pull out couch in the living room. There is also a well maintained hot tub in the private back porch area. The cottage has a full kitchen which was nice to save some money eating a few meals there instead of always eating out, plus it was right off of Duval St and in walking distance to pretty much everything you would want to see. The cottage is nice and clean and spacious and we would defintely stay here again. The only thing that was a challenge was the parking spot designated for this house is tiny! Luckily, I have a small car, but if we had anything like an SUV then we would have had problems.

This was the second time we have used Key West Vacation Rentals and both times have been wonderful. Our first stay was at the Amelia House and the second at Hemingway View. The houses had everything we could need and more. They were both clean and I loved the hot tub. They are both right on Duval Street so there was easy access to everything we could possibly want to do. We will definitely stay here again!

We were delighted with the cottage ... the beds and linens were great and the
kitchen was very well equipped. We also used and enjoyed the barbeque grill
and hot tub in the back yard ... no view from the back yard at all but it was
private and very pleasant. Our party consisted of two families of four and we
were all comfortable and happy with the close proximity to shopping,
restaurants, the light house, the Hemingway House and the marina. We would
stay here again. -

What a great little place to stay in Key West!
Just 22 steps off Duval Street at the East end of the street. Behind the Hemmingway house!
Able to walk to all of the restaurants, nightclubs and shops, even the beach.
Very quaint and homey feeling. beds were comfortable too. We took our 4 college/HS aged sons with us and they absolutely loved the location as they could venture out and back with ease. Great patio/lanai and hot tub.
Would definitely stay there again next time in town. -

This is a great place. We really enjoyed staying there for a week. My sister was getting married and it gave us plenty of room to spread out and relax before her big day. The place was very clean and the location is fantastic. It is steps from Duval, but in a bit quieter part of the street. So, you are near the action but not the constant noise. My only comment is in regard to the parking. There is a very, very tiny space to park your car and it did make getting in and out very difficult.
All in all, this place was great and I would stay there again in a minute!! -

My friends and I rented Hemingway's View for a week around Thanksgiving a
couple of years ago. The house was adorable and in a perfect location- easy
access to Duvall Street, but not so close that you can hear the party all night
long. We loved having the hot tub out back and it was a great way to relax
after hitting the clubs/bars. The folks at Key West Vacation Rentals were very
friendly and the office is close by. We also enjoyed playing with the three cats
that liked to call the front porch home. Just beware of the slanted floor. Add a
little coconut rum and it makes for some amusing moments! I would highly
recommend staying here and look forward to coming back soon. -

We have stayed in many places in the keys, several are now gone. This was one of our favorites. It was clean, spacious, full kitcen, BBQ, hot top, nice patio and fenced in rear yard. It is back up an alley right off Duval street so it is an easy walk to any where in old town, but far enough away from the crowds so it is quiet. Would definately rent again.

We thought that the cottage was lovely and very well appointed for our party

we were evacuated for Hurricane Dennis. The rental agency refunded our
money without any hassle. -

We completely enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage. The bedrooms were extreamly comfortable with one room having a wall of french doors facing the patio. The bathrooms were large and well appointed and the living room and kitchen were lovely. We had a marvelous time in the hot tub, easily fit 5 people. Parking was a bit of a challange with a full size SUV, but with good spotters and much effort we were able to squeeze it in! We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We have stayed at Hemingway's View in the past and loved it. However, when we were driving down this past Nov. we rec'd a phone call saying that we had been put in another property, which we weren't as happy with. We were told that there had been a bug infestation at Hemingway's View and we weren't able to stay there.

Orlando, FLNeat Place to Sleep in the Heart of Key West
Left on 07/02/2009 for a stay in August 2007
If you are looking for a casual, low key, reasonable priced conch house to sleep three couples this is your house. Each room has it's own king size bed so no one had to flip a coin to see who would get the master. We dined almost every night on the private back deck and it was very nice having a hot tub at our disposal. We didn't mind walking a few blocks to the pools, which we used the adult pool majority of the time and had it to ourselves. We recommend you getting your grocerys before you park if you are driving a large vehicle, because it is very hard to get in and out. The house shares parking with another house next door. This conch house is centrally located on Duval so you can pretty much walk anywhere. We would rent again!

Left on 07/02/2009 for a stay in November 2008
The home appears to be cute and fairly clean at first glance, but we found many palmetto bugs and were all bitten head to toe by bed bugs. The problem was so severe that it called for medical treatment and took a month to heal. We immediately brought this to the attention of the rental agency, I'm not sure if it was ever addressed. RENTERS BEWARE!!!

with hot tub was very nice as well. The location was great for shopping and
night life yet was very quiet for sleeping. Being right on Duval St. was

This is a great location - right off of Duval St nearer the quieter restaurants and galleries but still close to the bustle of downtown. Great convience store right nearby (1/2 block). Loved the cottage - the AC worked great. We had several feline visitors to keep us company as well. The house was charming and spotlessly clean. There was cleaning service every day. We would definately stay here again.

Having rented Hemingway's View via the internet I was very pleased when we finally got to Key West. I am not sure what I expected, but it met those expectations and more. We could not have asked for a better location, right off the main street in Key West. Once you get into the house you almost feel like you are in your own little world, but just a few steps away is the life of Key West. You are with in walking distance of everything. If I ever have the opportunity to got back to Key West this is were I would want to stay.

If you're looking for a quiet little bungalow, with lots of room, and nice location; this is it. We had 8 people stay here and it was roomy enough that we weren't falling over each other. It was quiet a night and lots of little kitties running around outside. The place has a nice hot tub and gas grill; which we used for a cookout one night. The walk down to the square was just enough to get a little exercise, but not too long to tire you out. The place was clean and was equipped with everything we needed.

We, 3 couples, came to Hemingway's View to enjoy Key West and the annual Christmas Parade. Three people out of six had never been to Key West so it was a special time for all of us. We liked the location of this property because we were so close to Duval Street but still had our privacy. We walked most of the time because the parking at Hemingway's View is very tight for those of us who have big SUV's!! Wonderful time and we'll be back. We have been renting in Key West through Key West Vacation Rentals for several years and think they are wonderful, too! Thanks and see you soon.

The picture on the internet and the actual cottage are extremly different. I was excited to come to Key West for vacation until we arrived at Hemingway's View cottage there is no view it's located on a street that's more like a back alley way, there are stray cats all over the place and this is just the out side. We opened the door to the cottage and the smell was disgusting we opened the windows and there are NO screens on any of the windows. All the floors in the cottage are sloped there isn't a level floor in the cottage, we rented a three bedroom cottage and only 1 bedroom had a TV, there were 3 locks on the front door that made me feel real safe. This was by FAR the worst place I EVER had to spend 1 night in EVER. The next morning we went to the the rental office and were moved to Olivia St.

Upon entering the house the first thing we noticed is how clean everything was. Inside and out. We did have some trouble with the hot tub and could not use for 2 days, this was disappointing as well as the meager amount we were credited for it not working. Other than that issue the house was clean, in a great location and reasonably priced. I would probably stay there again in future visits

Well all I can say is that we stumbled on a great place to rent in Key West. The location is down a quiet alley off of Duval and close to everything. We had 4 couples stay and it was too cramped. I would say 3 couples would be the max next time as the 4th has to use the sofabed. The private hot tub and yard really completed the house. We tried to book this past April but friends who stayed there with us last time already had it booked! A great place with great memories.

Housekeeping was timely and very good. The house was clean and the air conditioning worked fine.
