NHPerfect for 3 couples!
Left on 03/07/2013 for a stay in February 2013
We had a wonderful stay at Tropical Retreat, it was perfect for our group of 3 couples. This is the only rental I could find in a great location that had a private pool and 3 bedrooms all with ensuite bathrooms. The additional half bath and outdoor shower were a bonus.
The kitchen worked well for the meals we ate in. The only issue we had in the kitchen was the tempermental coffee maker, which we were informed during checkout was being replaced. Only other issue was one of the bedrooms had 2 twin beds made into a king, they weren't quite the same height though so it was a little awkward.
No noise issues of the human kind or bird kind. The gated parking area worked great for storing our bikes (still locked up of course). Pool was the perfect size, a larger table outside would have been nice for meals but it wasn't a huge issue.
We had a wonderful stay and hope to be back again soon!!

Savannah, GeorgiaPerfect!!
Left on 08/02/2012 for a stay in July 2012
Recently stayed here with 2 other couples for 5 nights. The house was beautifully decorated! The bedrooms are huge and all had comfortable beds. Loved how each bedroom had a private bath. We didn't hang out at the house as much as we had planned but did enjoy the pool the few times we used it. I did have 2 complaints however: the back door does not stay closed unless it is locked (not really convenient for the couple staying in the deteched room) and the front bedroom (blue) did not cool as well as the rest of the house. Overall we had a great time and loved the house. I would definitely stay here again.

Kenton, OhioGreat place- close to Duval- private pool !
Left on 07/03/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We left the kids in Ohio and a group of us rented this home for 5 days. Nicely decorated, spacious, private pool, and did not have to park on the street. Always had plenty of towels. Each shower had a soap and shampoo dispenser. Extra pool mats to float on were brought to us. The staff at the Key West rental office were very helpful and nice! Roosters are kinda noisy, but what can you do:) One block from Duval.. about 4 or so blocks from the southern most point. One block from renting scooters, bikes, or e-cars. We did have to spend some time every day skimming the pool to get rid of the leaves, etc. before using it. I would definately stay here again or maybe even a bigger place from this company if we have a larger group. Thanks for a great vacation!

Left on 02/09/2012 for a stay in February 2012
Location is perfect. Its just off Duval but all the way down the south side of the street. this section is a bit more quiet with shops and resturants, but still only about a 10 minute walk from all the crazy bars.
Has any ammenity you could want. Rental office was very helpful. Cleaning folks were very helpful. Place was extremely clean. Pool was great and super warm.
Overall a great place to stay with a group. -

Left on 01/19/2012 for a stay in January 2012
Loved the house. Beautifully decorated with plenty of space to spread out. Clean and well equiped for travelers. Only steps from Duval which was great during the day but not at night. Did not get much sleep because of people walking up and down our street from Duval. The parking lot next door was a hang out for kids with loud music. Had to call police last night to disperse a party w/very loud music at 4am. Other than the noise at night the house was awesome. My family loved it. The pool was my kids favorite.

The house was perfect for us. We had three couples in our group and we stayed here for eight days. The location is perfect! The only small glitch was that there was no hot water when we first arrived but as soon as we called to let them know they dispatched someone to fix it immediately. They had it fixed in no time at all. The house looks exactly like the pictures. It was very clean too. We will definitely stay here again!

Left on 10/31/2011 for a stay in July 2011
I'm always a bit skeptical about believing what you see in pictures, but this house was exactly as seen. All the rooms are very well done with great colours, the bathrooms are a great size and the "little" cottage is very roomy for a couple. This house has everything you need and more, it is clean, spacious and the best part is, it's steps from the main "drag" (haha..you'll get what I mean if you visit!), Duval Street.
Being a runner, I was able to get up in the morning and go end to end on Duval, and having found a coffee shop open early just steps away, it was a perfect stop on my way back. For the late risers, there's a breakfast spot steps the other direction that serves everyone large portions for great prices.
This location was so great I walked everywhere - to the beach across the island, down to the pier, to all the various shops, restaurants etc.. which was great as I could indulge in the fantastic cuisine and burn it off in a lovely, leisurely walk back.
My only complaint was the pull out sofa - I got stuck there a few nights and it was very uncomfortable...but I haven't met a fold out couch that is.
Don't be fooled by the exterior - it looks a little tattered because of the salt air, but the inside is great and you will feel like you just walked into a home away from home!Response from Key West Vacation Rentals - 11/05/2011

Left on 10/16/2011 for a stay in October 2011
2 cars can fit in the driveway, one behind the other. No problem finding street parking during the day but street parking gets tough early evening due to a happy hour down the block..It's really like being at home inside. They thought of everything. Plenty of towels, dishes, a washer/dryer. Each room has its own bathroom. Pool is heated and very private. My only improvement I would ask if its possible is to get stronger Wifi. It works in the main house but signal at the pool house is too weak to use.
Nice location , right off Duval. Can't wait to come back. You won't be disappointed here. -

Left on 08/04/2011 for a stay in July 2011
Stayed here in July 2011, total of 3 couples. Perfect house for us, we each had our own bedroom and bathroom. Pool was great. Everyone was very impressed with the house. I can not say enough good things about this house and its location. We did have one small glitch during our stay, leak in one of the bedrooms, however, a crew arrived shortly after I called and everything was taken care of. The next time we are in Key West with a group of friends, we will book this house again. All in all great place to stay.
Side note, some previous reviews mentioned the rooster, he is alive and well. One morning we think he was coming to visit, as he was on the porch to greet us. -

We stayed in the Tropical Retreat with a total of 6 guests. It was great. Flip Key was great to deal with. The house was great. We came to Key West to get married and can not wait to come back next year and rent the same house! Great location, very quite. Resturants at each end of the street and easy walk to everything else. The house was very clean the pool was great and we loved there was a full bath with every room. The bungalo was perfect for renting a house with other couples but still having a "honeymoon suite" for the us the wedding couple. Thank you for making our stay fantastic!

In planning a trip to the Keys for my sister's Birthday, I found the Tropical Retreat. The pics online looked amazing and the location seemed right...plus they were pet friendly! We arrived to find that the house looked just like it did on the website...amazing! The house was clean and super comfy! The private pool was the best feature...it was the perfect evening oasis! 31/2 bathrooms made it super easy for all of us to get ready each day. Lots of room to hang out with the group. In house washer and dryer was a great bonus! Easy access to Duval Street, located in a quiet neighborhood. This was the second time we rented from Key West Vacation Rentals and I am sure we will use them again. Great service before and after booking through check out.

Tropical Escape was a perfect place for our family vacation. My husband and I were traveling with our 2 children, who were 3 and 7. Also with us were, their aunt and uncle who were in KW to attend a wedding.
Online booking can be deceiving...when pulling up to the front some of our party were skeptical. Once we opened the door all anxiety disappeared, the place was beautiful. It was bright, peaceful, tropical and very tastefully decorated. The main house had lots of space and each bedroom had its own bath. The third bedroom in the back cottage
allowed privacy for my in-laws.
We all spent lots of time in the pool, by far my childrens favorite part, their own KW pool! We have already decided to try to return again next summer.
Our only complaint was the rooster which crowed each morning at 6am, it had made a home in the bush out front which was also outside our bedroom. ARRG. Hopefully, by next year it will have relocated!
Tropical Escape is a beautiful setting which allowed us to stay together and retreat to our private spaces enjoying KW at our own pace. -

This house was amazing! It had everything we needed to make our trip to Key West perfect! Pool, Grill, and more than enough room. We went down with 2 other couples and had an amazing time. The location is close to Duval for a comfortable walk but far enough away from the chaos if you just want to chill at the house and just enjoy relaxing at the pool. It's very well kept and the decor is awesome. It really gives you a great Key West feel! The trip was amazing and everyone absolutely LOVED the house! We would absolutely stay here again!

Loved the House! Great location, easy walk to lots of sights and restaurants yet far enough away to have quiet and peace. Lovely to have a quiet breakfast by the pool and then walk to the beach for walking in the waves. Everything was clean and stylish. The outside looks average, the inside is terrific! Would love to do it again with the same house and the same rental agents.

Left on 07/02/2009 for a stay in March 2008
It is a charming home with eclectic decor. We vacationed with my sister's
family and the "mother-in-law" cottage gave everyone privacy and alone time.
Our kids loved the heated pool and enjoyed the ability to swim at all hours.
We also loved buying fresh seafood from the next door store. We would have
preferred a more quiet street, as it definitely was noisy in the evening;
however, we closed the windows and the noise was dampened. -

We weren't sure what to expect, even after seeing pictures of the place. The pictures certainly made the place look nice, but our concern was whether the place would actually look like the pictures. The answer is yes. The place really is lovely. We would certainly stay there again and would plan to spend more time at the house. It has all the comforts of home. The pool was an added bonus. We'd definitely recommend the Tropical Retreat. The rental place was just okay -the guy we dealt with seemed to be more interested in looking at the papers to find a place to live, rather than helping us with recommendations, etc. He acted like we were bothering him the two times we stopped in (one for check-in to pay the balance and another time for 5-10 minutes to get eating recommendations).

This was my first trip to Key West and I am now hoping one day to have my own place here. Renting this house is the way to go. We had three couples and everyone had thier privacy with thier own bedroom and bathroom. The back yard made it wonderful. We relaxed in the pool and were able to cook our fresh catch on the grill which was perfect! Everything we needed was there for us. I would highly recommend this rental house...

My husband and I stayed here with two other couples for a long weekend. Whenever we travel, we prefer to stay in houses rather than hotels. FIrst, we love to cook, so a kitchen is always a plus and this kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. Second, we like to experience neighborhoods and this is in a good location, everything is walkable. One downside for some may be the lot next door, it is not kept well and the roosters like to wake you up first thing in the morning. The bedrooms are big and the bathrooms are up to date and clean. The pool is surrounded by beautiful trees and flowers which is very tranquil. We just had one problem with the pool, it needed to be cleaned, but once I reported it, it was taken care of immediately. There are convenience stores, liquor stores and restaurants all within a couple of blocks, but if you really want to stock up on the groceries, make a stop at one of the markets on the way in to Key West before you enter old town. A great place get some goodies is at the Waterfront Market in the seaport, wonderful curried chicken salad! If you are looking for a house to stay in, this is a good location.

We stayed at the Tropical Retreat in July 2008 for our 30th anniversary. Our children came with us. It was wonderful. Our oldest son, his wife, and one year old stayed in the adjacent apartment. That worked great. Our other son and our daughter vacationed at the Tropical Retreat also. The pool was great. We have told the "coconut" story (it fell out of one of the trees) over and over. We could walk or ride our bikes everywhere. It was beautifully decorated. We felt so special. It was paradise. I dream of coming back!

Tropical Retreat is a spacious house with all the accomodations necessary for a relaxing vacation. Very clean and nicely decorated. Private pool was wonderful. It's in the perfect location--one minute walk to DeVaul St., 5 min walk to the beach. 3rd bedroom is the pool cottage outside but it's roomy and has its own bath. Roosters are noisy next door at 6am but not a bother for early risers.

Beautiful home. Located one half block off the southern end of Deval. You could not ask for a better location or house to stay in. Nice small pool to cool off in in the afternoon. The home was equiped with everything needed to support a large family. (5 of us) One off street parking spot. We had a second vehicle and had no problem parking in front of the home. First time in Key west and if I return, I would like to stay in this home.

There are times in your life when you just know that you made the right choice. Choosing this rental property in Key West was one of those times.
Starting with the initial contact with the agents and all the way through check-out, this was an excellent experience.
The house is so wonderfully comfortable. My partner and I treated my sister, her husband, and another couple to this vacation rental. The house was perfect for three adult couples.
We took full advantage of the pool, the gas grill, the fully-equipped kitchen, and even the laundry facilities while there.
The location could not be more perfect. Being just one-half block off of the lower end of Duval was ideal for us. We walked (or motored on our scooters) everywhere we wanted to be during our stay.
If you are considering this property, run, don't walk, to make your reservation. You will not be disappointed! -

It was truly a perfect place with the pool, patio, location, and was laid out just great. We had 8 people (4 adults & 4 teenagers) and had more than enuff room for everyone. Can't imagine anyone would be dissappointed. Also had a large enuff secure driveway that we could park our full size rental van inside behind a lockable gate (i.e. no parking problems).
