Description from the manager
Coco’s Poolside Retreat is a 3-story Key West vacation rental townhouse situated in a one-of-a-kind private tropical pool garden compound. The townhouse is on the pool side of the complex overlooking a large 40’ by 16’ swimming pool and offers three full bedrooms, and 2.5 bathrooms. It was designed and built in the 1990's to compliment the architecture of Amanda’s Dream Suites, an original 2-story wooden home that is set on the complete opposite end of the garden and swimming pool.

46521Comfortable Home...off the Beaten Path
Left on 04/09/2012 for a stay in April 2012
I stayed here with 5 friends for 5 nights. When you enter from the street there is a nice garden, very lush, lots of shade and the pool. Plenty of pool furniture. We stayed in Unit 2. The "sidewalk" in between the pool and front steps was only about 2 feet wide and was made from cobblestone...very tricky footing...almost lost it a few times and into the pool you go! It was a little hard to negotiate with suitcases, groceries, etc. This is not a rental for people with small children...that pool is too close to the house! We managed, but an older person or someone who is disabled could never stay in this unit. It had 2 flights of stairs once inside.
Everything was clean and looked like the pictures on the website. The downsides: They were right about the ants..you cannot leave a thing on the counters...they will come. The blender had a crack in it and I lost a whole bottle of tequila...Unit #1 was kind enough to let us borrow theirs. The bathroom on the 2nd floor had tile pulling away in the shower and I am sure water was seeping behind the tile into the wall...not good. I called maintenance about this. The loft on the 2nd floor had a pull out couch (not comfortable) and a TV. When booking this house I took that sleeping arrangement into consideration and then we realize the TV is only for gaming and watching Dvds...no cable hook-up. There was also another TV in a closet not being used. Believe me..no one wanted to stay in and watch TV..but the house description was not accurate about the # of usable Tv's. Also on the 3rd day the one TV we had in the LR went out. The message on the TV said we now needed a digital box to recieve all channels. We were left with one channel for 2 days..Mtv! Just what a bunch of 50 year old women want!I know it sounds like I'm going on and on about the Tv's...and really, we didn't care...but when you pay for something you want it to be available, whether you use it or not.
I was given 1 set of keys by the maids..there were never any keys in the lock box...this has caused some confusion which is still not cleared up.
The upsides: Beds were comfortable, house was clean, pool was nice, but had lots of leaves in it. The house was in walking distance to Fausto's ( a small grocery..came in handy) and a few very good eateries (Vito's... Mo's.) We walked a couple of times to Higgs Beach...right down White St. It takes about 15 minutes...a very nice beach and if you go visit Salute.
All in all it was a nice rental...a little far from most things...nothing a cab won't fix. They charge $4 a person to go just about anywhere on the island. -

STANTONOur own little paradise
Left on 06/02/2011 for a stay in April 2011
Took our second trip to Key West this spring and stayed at Coco's for the second time. It is everything you see and more. Very bright and welcoming! Very clean! Walk to Duval St is about 20 minutes which was ok with us. We lounged by the pool by day and walked to town in the evenings. El Siboney restaurant is a great Cuban place right on our way. Love the bread and plantains they serve. Jack Flats is a great sports restaurant with great food. The lazy gecko was a very friendly place, and a few of us tried the bull ride at Wild Bills. Overall was a great trip. Can't wait to win the lottery so we can buy our own piece of paradise.
