Quaint Place in a Good Location, Great Use of Space

Left on 02/05/2013 for a stay in January 2013

Stayed here in January 2013, with my wife, mother-in-law, 2yr and 2 month old. This place is on Whitehead street in Old Town in a good location if you are looking to be away from the craziness but close to Duval. Whitehead is a busy street, weekend nights were a little noisy but the outdoor back patio and small pool are secluded and private. A car is not needed, we walked everywhere from here.

      Double Thumbs Up

Left on 11/01/2012 for a stay in October 2012

Recently my wife and I and another couple spent a week at the New Potters Cottage. There is nothing bad to say about this rental unit … only positives. The cottage is very comfortable for four adults. It was clean and well supplied. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well supplied with everything that was needed, including some spices and condiments. The welcome basket was a pleasant surprise. Both bathrooms were very nice. The deck and pool was perfect and quite private. The washer and dryer work well and are located so that they are neither noisy nor inconvenient. This cottage is one block off Duval and close to all of the action. In addition, there was parking right in front. If you are looking for a place to stay in Key West, give this rental unit serious consideration. You will not be disappointed.

Great Place to stay for a relaxing visit

Left on 07/02/2012 for a stay in June 2012

Potter's cottage is a great little house. 3 bedroom, 2 bath (washer dryer) and Private small pool! It is a block from Duval street and a block or so from the Hemingway House. It was easy to get everywhere in town and very comfortable. Sleeps 5 easily and possibly 6.

I will look at staying aging next time I return to Key West!

      More than expected

Left on 04/17/2012 for a stay in April 2012

I don't usually write reviews, however I wanted to express my satisfaction with this property and owner. The house was clean, comfortable, and exactly as presented. The neighborhood and location is excellent. Todd responded to my e-mails before my arrival and even had a good attitude when I woke him at night after I pulled the bone headed stunt of locking myself out. Everything you need is there, I will be booking again for an extended stay.

A Great Cottage Rental One Block Off Duval

Left on 03/04/2012 for a stay in February 2012

This cottage is located on Whitehead Street, about halfway between Hemingway's Home and the Southernmost Point. It is close enough to the Key West attractions that you could walk to everything that you would want to see and do in Key West. Mallory Square is .8 mile away, while Southernmost Point is about 7 blocks away. The cottage itself is in wonderful condition and has 3 bedrooms: one king upstairs with ensuite bath, one queen bedroom and another bedroom with a futon downstairs. A bathroom with shower is located on the first floor. The kitchen is fully equipped with coffee maker, dishwasher, fridge, stove, oven, glasses, dishes, cups, utensils...it is all there. All you need to do is bring your food. The living room has a wall mounted, small-sized flat screen TV, audio player that docks with your iPod, and a washer/dryer in the third bedroom. The back yard has a BBQ grill, pool, table, and 4 chairs. A settee with 2 chairs and a coffee table were located under an awning was also located int he back yard. There is a hot shower on the side of the house for rinsing off after going into the pool. The entire back yard is enclosed by a white PVC fence assuring a high degree of privacy. The front of the cottage has a covered porch with a table and 2 chairs for watching the tourists walk to the Southernmost Point. The owner, Todd, seems to be a very responsible person and was only a phone call away when we had questions for him on our day of arrival. He was very helpful in addressing our questions and also left a "Welcome Basket" in the house filled with a bottle of wine and snack items. I recommend the New Potter's Cottage to anyone who wants to be near the action of Key West while still having the privacy and amenities of a private residence. The only item that may present you with a problem is that there is no onsite parking at the cottage. However, there is an "open" parking spot in front of the cottage. Do Not park in a spot marked "Resident Parking". All of the parking spots in KW are outlined as boxes in which you must park, You will be ticketed if you do not have a Monroe County license plate or a resident permit on your windshield. However, any outlined parking spot that does not have any writing in it is open to anyone. So, if you are lucky, you'll score the parking spot in front of the cottage. Otherwise, you can park on Louisa Street (next to the north side of the military station by the Southernmost Point, which is about 7 blocks away, and walk from your car to the cottage, about a 6 minute walk. WiFi came in at 54 Gb transfer with excellent signal strength.

Found what we were looking for

Left on 05/05/2011 for a stay in April 2011

Cute cottage with a great master bedroom loft suite, well appointed throughout, furnishings look new. The private pool and really cool poolside seating area were perfect for sun or shade. Location couldn't have been better. Near the sights, near the Southernmost Beach, and a block off Duval - convenience without the noise. Nice touch with the gift basket at check in.
