Easy experience to rent through email - we rented in November for December stay, so pleasantly surprised I could find something. Once arrived, we had to wait until lunch hour over - which we were told, then given keys, written and verbal directions to our unit, which was in walking distance from office. With luggage in tow, we arrived, & used written directions to find our unit. Not! Bad, outdated directions. After lengthy phone call & wandering about Duval Square, we finally found it. Personal service would have been nice, given the number of employees that appeared to be coming & going at office. Unit large, 2b, 2.5ba, 2 balconies, hot tub. Main flr balcony unusable as a/c unit there. Appliances could us updating, but nothing to complain about, we weren't there to sit in unit all week. Beds weren't that comfortable. Beach towels for pool were large & great! We were steps from pool, and steps from Duval St. Location was excellent! Bike rentals across street, & shops downstairs in Duval Square great - Nail Bar and New York Pasta were especially great on customer service! Location was excellent for our family (or for partiers) - we could walk anywhere pretty quickly. Best part of the rental unit itself were they really friendly other guests we met at the pool daily. We shared stories of cool places to go on KW, and talked frequently while relaxing at the pool. There was construction going on while we were there - had we had small children or were confined to unit - would have been bad. Salt water pool was warm, enjoyable, and there were plenty of deck chairs for guests.

We enjoyed our home away from home so much! The location was great and convenient to everything. The condo was very well equipped and had everything we needed. We were only sad we had to leave so soon. We will come again and stay longer! Thanks so much to at Home In Key West, Inc. Check in and check out was very easy and they are very helpful!
Perfect for our family

We were traveling to Key West for my oldest son's wedding. My sister and I had adjoining units. In our unit we had my 72 year-old mother, my 20 year-old twin daughters and myself. (Next door was my sister, her husband, her 18 year old son and my 24 year old son). Our unit had plenty of space: we could have everyone over for Dominos around the table and the three bathrooms were nice. There were lots of extra towels and linens stocked in the closets and the air-conditioning worked great. We were just feet from Duval street but, once in our unit, insulated from all the noise. The CVS pharmacy (where we bought grocery items) and bike rental place were right around the corner; we were within a few minutes walk/bike ride of all the significant sites. There was a great beauty shop (Headliners) and restaurant downstairs. The building was secure and the management team was responsive (my sister needed more coat hangers in her unit and they were there in a jiff).
I withheld the fifth star, only because if you are a very picky traveler, you will notice the walls are all white (kind of like a kids college apartment) and the furniture was a tad bit aged. If you are someone for whom these things matter--pick the unit next door. But...for Grandma, the kids and me this unit was perfect and we'd return again.
A Week in Key West
Left on 06/14/2013 for a stay in May 2013 | Melissa
We have been coming to Key West almost every year for the last seven years- usually for long-weekends. We've stayed in a number of hotels around the island, as well as a bed-and-breakfast.
Since this is the first time we were staying for a week and were traveling with another couple, we chose Duval Street Hideaway based on the location, the amenities listed, and the reviews.
We loved that it was on the "quieter" end of Duval Street. The walk to-and-from downtown was just enough to say that we got our "exercise" in each day. Check-in took all of five-minutes (the staff at at Home in Key West, Inc. were wonderful!), and we quickly settled in after a quick stop at Publix to stock up on groceries. We rented a car for two days, and it was nice to have the covered parking space included while we had the car.
A few items of note- the condo, while clean & comfortable is certainly showing its age. The entire condo could use a face-lift (including a new mattress in the guest room). Although the website says that the condo sleeps six, we could not imagine having another couple being there- it would have been cramped, and there is no way I would put two adults on the pull-out sofa.
We enjoyed being able to cook meals in the kitchen, however, there was mention of access to a grill on the website, but we were unable to find one anywhere.
Other than not being able to find the grill, the other disappointment was we could not get the hot tub to warm any hotter than 94-degrees (we did use it, though!). We did not use the pool- it was a bit dirty, and the water was very warm.
All in all, the location and property suited our needs. We will defiantly use at Home in Key West for our next week-long stay.
comfortable apartment for 4-5 persons, excellent location

Unbeatable location with gated, covered parking spot. Apartment needs a bit of a remodel but everything is in working condition and clean. Having a hot tub was a plus.
Great Location!!! Steps away from everything

This is an amazing location. Steps from Restaurants and mayor attractions. The pool and jacuzzi were very clean.
We had a great time with my husband and kids.

If it wasn't for the "spare" bed being sooo uncomfortable I would rate all 5's. Place needs some cosmetic work but overall nice. Great location, clean, master bedroom spacious and comfy. Go to Caroline's and visit Lisa during day or downstairs for breakfast/ lunch with Sean and the parrots. Sissy at the hairsalon does a great pedi.

Great last minute find on Duval Street! My husband, brother and sister-in-law arrived in mid-February and were quite pleased with the 2-Bdr/2-Bath condo - it was so nice to have drinks on the patio before making our daily trek down Duval Street! We did wish that check-in time was a tad earlier than 4:00 but other than that, this location and property completely suited our needs. And Libby at the sales office was wonderful! We will definitely look to "At Home in Key West" for a place to stay during our next visit.

Duval St. Hideaway was comfortable and well located. The property, both inside and out, was worn and in need of up-dating.
The staff at the rental company, At Home in Key west, Inc. was great. They were very friendly and efficient.
All in all, we had a wonderful vacation.

The condo was conveniently located in the heart of Key West. It was walking distance from anything that we wanted to do. It easily slept all 6 of us - yes SIX. We have two adults an 4 teenage kids and we never felt like it was crowded at all. 90% of our meals we ate at in our condo since the kitchen was fully stocked with all the appliances that we need. The Master Bedroom had ample space and plenty of sitting room on the balcony as well.
Duval Stree Hideaway Review

We loved the location of this rental, we have stayed in the location before. When we arrived the hot tube was extremely dirty and took 2 days before it was fixed and cleaned. This was an issue because we specifically rented this property for the hot tub. The rest of the rental was nice and well keep up. The community pool could also use some work.
