Bloomington, INPeaceful and lovely home
Left on 05/16/2013 for a stay in May 2013
This pretty home was filled abundantly with lovely artwork obviously painted by the owner. It was a treat to be in Truman annex---the nicest part of Key West surrounded by beautiful homes and lush foliage. We were just a stone's throw from the Truman "Little White House," parks and beaches. We walked to most places though we did not find a good grocery store within walking distance and had to drive to Publix for most of our supplies.
Best part of this condo was the living room area and the sweet deck where we congregated each morning until the mosquitos got us. Kitchen was nice but very small and could hold only one person at a time. Upstairs hall bath didn't drain well and the internet connection kept failing forcing us to reboot the modem several times. That was a pain, but in general artist Garden was a lovely respite for four friends who travel the world together. -

Very nice property with outdoor seating area for dining. Lovely garden. All the artist's works are colorful and wonderful to enjoy! Nice small pool to cool off after sightseeing. Close to walk to many sites of interest. Near Truman House and the sunsets in Mallory Square. Needed a good kitchen cleaning when we arrived but we did that. May need new a/C that is stronger as it was warm upstairs and took long to cool down. Would stay here again, lovely place.

Milford, CTThe twin beds were very uncomfortable!
Left on 04/15/2013 for a stay in April 2013
When I travel, I like to stay in places at least as comfortable as my own. The twin beds were both very uncomfortable. Neither had good support and I could feel the springs! They would squeak when we changed positions. When I called about this problem the next day, we were supplied with foam mattress toppers. Unfortunately, I would still sink in and feel the springs. When informed of this, plywood was put under the mattresses. Alas, to no avail! I ended up sleeping on one of the sofas. A new set of mattresses is definitely needed!
It would have been helpful to have a supply of paper towels, plastic wrap, and aluminum foil.
I liked having a washer and dryer, dishes, utensils, sheets, towels, and beach towels.
It is not a good place for senior citizens. It was difficult to climb the stairs. We were not able to walk to the attractions or ride bikes. We always had to take our car, and parking was difficult to find. It got very expensive.

San Jose, CABeautiful House, sometimes loud
Left on 04/03/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We stayed at the artist's Garden for one week. There were 4 adults and an 11 month old. The house is gorgeous, lots of interesting art. Some of it we had to move out of reach of our 11 month old, but that was easy enough. The only downside to this house is that it's located across the street from the post office. It wouldn't be bad except the bedroom windows face the post office. Some mornings the postal trucks banged around starting at 4:52 am! I finally had to put on a white noise app every night to drown them and the roosters out. (The roosters is a Key West issue, not this houses's ;-) ) .. It was in a great location, easy to access all the restaurants, Duval Street and Mallory square. The pool is very close and well maintained. We definitely would consider staying here again, but if a different house in Truman annex were available not close to the post office, we'd probably choose that first. We would definitely go through at Home in Key West, though! They were wonderful and helpful. They also recommended using The Hip Tourist for renting baby equipment and it was perfect!!!

Left on 03/21/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We stayed here the week of March 2. We have stayed in Truman annex many times. This property was in a nice location, very spacious kitchen, living room and outside deck. Easy walk to everything. Only drawback was the second bedroom. The room is small and the twin beds are horrible. Like sleeping on a creaky cot. Hard to believe considering the value of this property. Rugs were also in need of replacement.
Rental experience was very good otherwise -

Left on 03/14/2013 for a stay in March 2013
Our family vacation was great with this comfortable spot to come back to! The artist Garden is relaxing with the private patio, open space on first floor decorated with colorful art. Privacy with bedrooms on opposite ends of second floor. Would've preferred twin beds over daybeds for adult daughters, but it worked out. Both sofas are sleeper sofas. Plenty of bathrooms. Kitchen great too. The pool is close by and parking for one car also. Although we walked to many spots near Mallory Square, Duval St., Hemingway House, Little White House, and restaurants. Suggest using trolley, bikes, or car for beaches all close by, but longer walks. We used the car to go to the beach, Publix, and kayaking with Lazy Dog off Hurricane Hole Marina. Favorite places to eat were Southernmost Rest., Conch Republic Seafood Rest. & Bar, Kelly's, and don't miss Blue Heaven! Cute craft/wine shop at Wine Cottage near Tropic Cinema. Thanks to at Home In Key West personnel for your kind help over the phone and ease of our late check-in and early checkout! And to the owner for opening up such a perfect place for others to enjoy! We would stay again if ever return to key West!

Left on 08/02/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We have just stayed at the artist garden home. The location is perfect for everything in key west. Duval st. is close by but yet the house is tucked away so you are in quiet surroundings.
The house is well equipped and has everything you need. The main bedroom has a great comfy king bed and the second room with twins is just a nice. The sofa beds in the lounge are not the most comfortable but that would be our only negative.
The complex pool is just outside the door and although small there were plenty of loungers and never seemed too busy.
Would definitely recommend this to anyone I met coming to key west and would return myself. A great place.

Left on 07/19/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We stayed 10 days in house. Very comfortable for four people. The unit did not have enough items such as toilet paper and trash bags. Had to purchase those at store. The unit is walking distance to old town. This made it very convient to get around. I noticed on last day there were two bicycles on side of house. Don't know if they were there for our use or not. No mention of them. The community pool closes way to early. They lock the gates and you cannot use pool after sun goes down. Overall enjoyed our stay. If your main concern is beaches Key West is not the place to go. However if you want water activity it has everything you could same for at a price.

Thank you for taking the time to review our home.
Please note:
The bicycles you found are not the owner's; they may have been left by the previous guest.
Household items, such as toilet paper and trash bags, are supplied in all our homes in limited supply as a "starter" supply. -

This house was fantastic, in a great historic location close to everything- Restaraunts, Bars and historic sights. We spent a week and could not get enough of the patio and kitchen. We highly recomend. It slept 6 very comfy with two sofa beds in the living room. The decorations and furniture were top quality and stylish. The pool was truly less than 100 feet away.

Left on 04/12/2012 for a stay in April 2012
I traveled here with my husband and two daughters - 5 & 9 years old.
The house is lovely, just enough space and all the amenities you might need. The home is nicely updated with pretty furniture (the white couches made me a bit nervous, tho) and modern kitchen. A private deck & garden are a nice space to relax. The garden would be heaven with a hammock. (hint, hint) Beds were reasonably comfortable and linens were all provided. The location was convenient to walk to most places and parking was easy. The pool was very close, however, a bit small if there were many other people there enjoying it too...Another reviewer commented on the noise level of the postal trucks... I dismissed that review because I thought maybe they partied a bit on Duval and wanted to sleep in and since i've got a couple kids, I knew I would be getting up relatively early.. well.. Here's a different take. Yes, the house is located near the post office, and a bank.. and also it must be near some bars. So, it was noisy, not only in the morning, but at night also- Around 10 pm or so, you would hear the band playing from a nearby bar and people enjoying themselves at said bar. This would persist for a while (most nights). In the morning, the post office parking lot has a few rooster residents and they start crowing before the sun comes up and doesn't quit until the night. Lastly, there is a lot of art and portraits in the house. A lot> of naked art, and even a bit "racy" art. My daughters weren't really comfortable with the extent of the portraits and thank god they didn't ask one piece in particular that I feel would be better suited in Hugh Heffner's house and not a family vacation home. I wish that the rental agency would have told me that there was an extensive amount of naked art in the home prior to my selecting this property... But, all in all, we had a great vacation and I would recommend this home to my friends, so long as they knew what to expect..

Thank you for taking the time to review our home. We are glad that you enjoyed your visit for the most part. It is a tough balance to accommodate guests who want to stay within city limits of Old Town Key West, where everything is in walking distance, but don't want to hear the city noises.
As far as the artwork, the owner of this home is an artist and much of the artwork is her personal work. We will certainly share with her your concerns of appropriateness.

I really loved this vacation. We were so close to the Old Town of Key West and all of the activities, and yet, we were staying in a quiet enclave where we could just relax and enjoy the weather, the pool, the condo, etc. The unit was really nicely done, with many very attractive artworks, and we had all of the amenities of home. Thanks for including all of the cleaning supplies, etc. that we needed. All we had to supply was the food. This was one of the best vacations that I have had in a long time. Far superior to a hotel.

Left on 06/05/2010 for a stay in May 2010
We have been coming to Key West at least once a year for eleven years. This was our first time using at Home in Key West for our vacation rental. From our intial phone call, requests, arrival, and checkout the people from at Home were great. Specifically (Gale) worked with a jeweler in Philadelphia to make sure the late arrival of an engagement ring got into our hands prior to our son's arrival. The service we received from at Home went up and beyond what anyone would expect and we will be using them for our future needs. As for the house it was exactly as what was portrayed on the web site. It was bright and airy, clean, and gave us the Key West laid back feeling. It had all the household items we needed. The location was great. Since it was located in the Truman annex we were close to all the hot spots (Sloppy Joe's, Wharf area etc.) plus it also had the quiet and privacy of a gated community. A great great Key West vacation.

Upstate New Yorknice but noisy
Left on 04/18/2010 for a stay in March 2010
the house was very nice, lots of artwork and large deck area. The main issue we had was the fact that it was very noisy. The house is situated right across from the post office and there was traffic going in and out of the post office at all hours of the day and night. In addition the postal trucks would arrive around 6:00am. On tuesdays the trash trucks would be there very early making a ton of noise. All this in addition to the many roosters in the area made for very noisy mornings.
One other thing, there was a lot of the owners personal items left in the closets of the house and it made it difficult to store our things, especially in the second bedroom, I had to move a lot of items from the closet to under the bed. -

This was a great place to stay in Truman Annex. The decorating was modern, sheets good quality and the art work on the walls fantastic. The backyard was very private, but on an entrance street for trucks. Garbage day was very noisy and very early. Most kitchen amenities were available. No ceral bowls and no pizza cutter, so beware. Also, since this is not a hotel, bring extra TP and paper towels. We ran out quickly. Everyone at At Home in Key West was very friendly. We had no reason to call once we got the keys to the condo. We will definitely consider this condo again.

FloridaPleasant Surroundings - Poor Service
Left on 11/22/2008 for a stay in October 2008
The home itself was beautiful and met our needs nicely. Location is very convenient, close enough to walk or bike to all the "action", yet peaceful enough for down time.
The layout was perfect when we had friends in for refreshments and to hear some music. We did, however, have a couple of issues during the week we were there. Several light bulbs, including the main ceiling bulb in the main bathroom, were burned out when we arrived. Not wanting to pull out a ladder and drag it upstairs, we put in a call to the management company. Also reported an extremely sluggish tub drain in the master bath. The agent said someone would be there to check things out within a day. Two days later, after no one had come by, we called again and were told the original work order had not been entered. We were assured that someone would be there asap.
The next day, our rental agent (not affiliated with the management company) stopped by and replaced the bulbs for us. When we left several days later, we still had not seen anyone from maintenance and the drain was slower than ever. We also had a problem with the oven. There were no directions and we had a problem actually turning it on/off... the control did not seem to work properly.
Strictly because of the management company, we will probably not be staying in this particular unit again.
