Overall the unit was ok. Upon arrival it took 3 hrs for the A/C to kick in. Main bathroom shower clogs. Yuk! Not completely satisfied

Great location, nice area i.e. Shipyards. Beds should be returned to the civil war museum, hard as rocks! Condo was very clean but little things like rotting base board in bathroom and rust around the refrigerator door distracted from the charm of the apartment. When renting this facility bring all soaps, shampoos, paper towels and TP, what provided did not last 3 days. I was told while inquiring that it was being remodeled. The porch needs an awning and that would save the owner some money on cooling cost.
Good location, nicely furnished

The unit was in good condition with a well stocked kitchen. They could use a new mattress in the Master Bedroom and a new TV stand, but other than these minor items, it was clean, well furnished, in a very convenient location close to Duval Street which helped us have a great stay in Key West.
Desperate for update

Check in and contact with the rental agency was excellent. The upstairs condo is shabby, poorly maintained, with sinks that are badly chipped and faucets difficult to operate. One must have some muscles to operate the shower-handle is extremely difficult to both turn on and off. We had to wash the dirty dishes and utensils before we could use them. Very liimited supply of utensils-one needs to run the dishwasher daily, even with only two people.Balcony provides a nice spot for sunning, but no place to sit without being directly in the sun-an umbrella for the table would have helped. Even the main bedroom needed to have beach towels hung to prevent the morning sun from coming in and to provide some privacy.. We have been coming to KW for over 20 years and this is one of the poorest maintained units we have ever encountered.. Pricey for inferior quality. Read more
Response from At Home In Key West, Inc. - 04/01/2014
Thank you for taking the time to review our home. This home has been almost completely renovated with new paint, new living room furniture, new bedding, new BBQ grill. When you contacted us for a last-minute reservation, we thought we were accommodating you although renovation was not complete. We apologize if you felt it was not acceptable. If we were contacted while you were here, we could have taken care of all the issues you mention. Sink and faucets have been replaced, new sunblock blinds are on bedroom windows and kitchenware has been re-stocked. This condo's balcony does get lots of sun in the afternoon; an umbrella would not block that but it does give you a private spot to catch afternoon rays.
Calypso was clean, comfortable, and convenient.

Staying at Calypso was wonderful. I received excellent service from at Home In Key West. The location is superior: close the Truman annex pool, close to Zachary Taylor beach, Tropic cinema, and all old town venues. Everyday I just hopped on my bike and went everywhere in Key West. The Shipyard in Truman annex is very safe. As a single woman I was completely relaxed there. Neighbors were very friendly. I liked the lush tropical flowers and vegetation.
In the condo itself, I personally did not like the royal blue shag rug and color schemes in the bedrooms; however, friends who visited said they did like it, so that was a personal preference of mine. I also did not like it that the windows were painted shut. I prefer open windows to air conditioning and sometimes I thought it was a safety hazard.
Overall, I was very happy at Calypso and miss it already, one week away.
At Home Key West took care of us, loved Truman annex

Calypso was a great 2-bedroom for our family with two kids. It is on the ground floor and the back patio opens up to the pool. We really appreciated convenient access to the pool since our kids wanted to spend at least an hour or two a day there in-between our adventures around Key West. We cooked and would have benefited from an improved spice selection. The pots and pans and cooking utensil selection was great.
It is hard to thank the folks @Home Key West enough. We came in a day early quite unexpectedly and they cheerfully made last minute adjustments to save the first day of our vacation. They made some great recommendations for beaches, bike rentals, kayaking as well as a few off-beat kid-friendly activities that were spot-on.
We want to go back!

We have been to Key West 3 times and love visiting. This was a good experience. We would have preferred to have a queen bed instead of twins and wish there was a closer market for getting staples, but overall we had a great time and thought our accomodations were excellent.

The service recieved from Carole 'At Home in Key West' was excellent. The Shipyard complex is secure with a well maintained perfectly formed pool area. The location of the property is central to all that Key West has to offer. The property itself was clean and tidy, however some of the fittings and household linens were of a poor standard and require to be replaced.
In our opinion the condo would benefit from the addition of a gas barbeque.

My husband, a couple friends and I just spent a week in Key West and we stayed at Calypso. The condo was well-equipped, clean and very bright and colorful. A perfect place to return to after spending days and nights exploring Key West. The location is perfect for anyone who wants to walk to Duvall Street and most of the major attractions. We were thrilled with our stay and are planning on returning next year!
