Beautiful Home with all the amentities my wife and i could use. very nicely tucked away in the corner of small compound with beautiful pool in center. House was exceptionally clean and very nicely decorated just as the pictures of property show. Perfect location for walking to restaurants and shopping on Duvall street. We especially liked the ease of biking right down to the beach. we went to south beach a lot during our stay. We also had a rental car but hardly ever used it. We biked eveywhere. There is reserved parking for one vehicle per unit. This place is a very nice place to stay and would definately return. I do have one comment about the unit that is a little disappointing. The roosters! although, not in this development, there are roosters that roam and crow all night in the mobile home development next door which is right outside / next to the master bedroom of this house. Although my wife did not have any issues, I found it hard to sleep most nights as I continually had been awaken by this bird! Im also aware that this is common in Keywest as I have been going there for 6 years. But right outside the master bedroom alongside house was annoying to me. I also realize that this is outta the owners control. Besides that one negative aspect, this house is beautiful, perfectly located, and kept very clean and well worth a few sleepless nights for me. P.S there is also a learning curve to operate the television and direct TV, but the owners instructions located in home, when carefully followed solved the problem. Enjoy your stay!!

We stayed in this home in a quiet gated small community with full privacy. We had every convenience we could ask for within the house, including a great grill and patio outside! The home could not have been cleaner. The beds were comfortable, wifi and full television access were there for us during our time spent there. We utilized the full kitchen several times and were able to clean up after ourselves with the dishwasher. Not only would I recommend this spot to others, I look forward to staying there next time we go back to Key West. It is in the perfect spot, not far from Duval - but literally a walk to everything you want or need. Southernmost point is very close by, great restaurants as well, Hemingway house also. And as you walk further you work toward all the hot spots - westerly to Mallory Square and the pier where more great restaurants, bars and of course Fury and other charter boating companies provide water entertainment. If I could give it six stars I would. Thank you ahikw!

Very nice island house with a community pool.Accomodations are great, very clean,very comfortable.minor little glitches such as local tv channels unavailable (which is an issue when your favorite team is competing for a playoff spot) 3 extra garbage bags for a week stay.
Best part of the trip was the guest comment book where we got a referral for Capt Jake Perry of Mean Green Charters for an incredible fishing experience.
Overall I will recommend the house for its comfort and location. -

We typically stay in Key West for one week every summer. This year we decided to add a week and really relax and take it easy. Southern Wind was the perfect place to do just that. After our first week at Southern Wind, we hated to move to our second week's location. Southern Wind is lovely, immaculate, well-maintained and felt like home. The only drawback is the 3:30 a.m. daily rooster calls. If you're a heavy sleeper, no problem.

Honestly, we have stayed in this development in three different homes. This one, by far, was the best! It was so beautiful and clean and comfortable! The grounds and pool are kept so nice. The other two homes (although nice as well) still left me wanting to see what another would be like. Look no more, this is where we will be staying when we come back!!! Thank you!!!

We had a wonderful stay at Southern Wind. We spend a week there with two small kids and found a great little compound, very close to Duval Street (2 Min walking). Inside, it does not feel like downtown as it is very quiet and green. The pool and the garden are very pleasant. The appartment itself is tastefully furnished and very clean. The furniture is comfortable and well maintained, the equipment (flat screen TVs, stereo, washer & dryer, etc ...)is of excellent quality. We also found all necessary supplies such as detergent, soap, sufficient towels, etc ... All in all a very recommendable place. We will keep fond memories of our holiday in Key West, also due to the great place we stayed at.

Everything about the house down to the very last detail was perfect. We truly enjoyed our stay and are really looking forward to our return next year. Having a wonderful oasis so close to Key West sites, restaurants and Duval Street was great. We loved the pool and spent every morning and afternoon on the front porch relaxing. Thanks for a wonderful vacation. I've already recommended your home to an acquaintance who travels to Key West frequently.

This was the cleanest and loveliest place for a two bedroom. The location was fantastic too. Only downside was 3 of the 5 nights we stayed there people in the RV park and in the house behind our development were partying outside loudly at ridiculous hours of the night. Roosters did make their noises but that wasn't very troubling. Bring earplugs to sleep with and this place is idea.

We all really enjoyed Southern Winds. The location is great and close to everything. The only thing we did not enjoy was the construction the next door neighbor was doing to his porch. We woke every morning to his saws and sanders. I realize this is not the rental offices fault but you would think for the amount of money we spent to stay there that they would make sure this kind of thing isnt happenening during peak travel time and spring break!!

This was our 3rd visit to Key West. The first time we stayed at Southern Wind. The second time, Southern Wind was being renovated and we stayed elsewhere. This time we were back at Southern Wind. We just love the little complex and the house if fabulous! Everyone we meet or who lives in the little 13 house complex are so friendly and fun to be around. Every detail was taken care of. We completely enjoyed our visit. At Home In the Keys is a great rental agent also. The follow up with you on everything and you can be secure in knowing everything is taken care of. I can't say enough about Southern Wind and at Home in the Keys as rental agents. You couldn't ask for more!

We felt that this location was close to most of the attractions, and everything was within walking distance, assuming you are up for nice, long walks. we loved the privacy and the beauty of the grounds. We were two couples, and we were able to live for a week without getting in each other's way or feeling a loss of privacy. very nice place to stay.

The accommodations were very nice and comfortable. Everything was well maintained and clean. Location is ideal. The only down side was the little snafu with parking our rented scooters on site. Seems the rules were recently changed - check before you rent for the week.

This is the second time we have stayed at Southern Wind. Since summer of 2009, the condo has been completely renovated and redecorated. Beautiful job. Condo was extremely clean and very comfortable. Location is perfect, not too far away from the fun, but not too close either. Staff at the at Home office was always very pleasant and courteous when I spoke with one of them on the phone. At check in, they even knew and mentioned about us being a returning customer. See ya again next summer !!! Thanks for a great vacation !!!

Overall, we did enjoy our accommodations and were comfortable at Southern Wind.
We did wonder if we were missing some of the "normal" accoutrements because the home had just gone through renovations and we thought maybe some of the regular items had not been "moved back into" the house:
* No DVD player... strange to not have in a house where families stay for extended periods. Should be one in the main living area, as well as in each bedroom
* No iPod connection/docking station... this is even standard at almost all hotels now
We also did not receive the option of not paying the $35 damage waiver by instead letting your company put a hold on $500 on our credit card used for payment. Never even knew this was an option, but I certainly would have chosen that over the non-refundable damage waiver. I would have simply rather been given the choice.
I also was not very pleased that after our initial booking, we were not informed as to how to obtain our keys for entry other than stating "they will be in the lockbox at the office". Okay, well send me some information or call me with instructions on how to access the lockbox either before my arrival, or at least on the day of my arrivial! Everyone in our party had worked that day, so we had to arrive late at night. When we called the emergency number for AtHomeKeyWest, the representative stated that "that's the most common call we get". Hmmm... seems maybe that would be taken into consideration and rectified then!

My husband, myself, and another couple searched high and low for a nice place in Key West that would fit our budget. Gayle at @homeinkeywestinc. was very professional and efficient in helping us, and was able to find something that looked like it would fit our needs to a "T".
Now, I always get a little nervous when renting a new place, especially over the internet, but when we arrived, this condo FAR out-did our expectations. It was very private,quiet,and classy, but still homey and comfortable, with a small, private pool, and an AC that cranked!
And we couldn't have asked for a better location- not too far away from all the action, but not so close that we had to listen to it 24/7.
It had private, shaded parking for our rental car, as well as a place to lock up our bicycles.
The kitchen was really nice, as well as the entire condo- with classy decor. We felt right at home.
The best thing about the place was the private pool and the full kitchen, which we utilized a LOT, however the refrigerator leaked and ruined some of our food, and the washer and dryer sounded as if it was being brutally murdered when it was used! But all in all, an incredible place, I absolutely would recommend it to anyone! Enjoy! -

THE PERFECT GET AWAY HOME. IT'S IN THE CORNER,IT'S QUIET,HAS EVERYTHING YOU COULD EVER NEED INSIDE.THE HOUSE AND THE COMPLEX WERE SPOTLESS. THE POOL WAS GREAT, AND YOU CAN WALK TO MANY PLACES FROM THERE, FROM RESTAURANTS,TO CVS, AND OF COURSE DUVAL ST.AND THE PEOPLE AT AT HOME IN KEY WEST WERE VERY PLEASANT TO DEAL WITH.

Overall the home and compound it's in is great. The location is the best, away from the noise, but minutes to walk anywhere. The unit itself really needs to invest in new couches in the living area, and think about refinishing the hardwood floors on main level, really worn. The only issue we had with the property was the cleaning of the pool. The pool guy came by twice to get the leaves out, but never once treated the scum ring around the edge of the pool, by week end it was pretty gross. We never once smelled any type of chemicals, so that made us all a little nervous. Several people had rashes, but not sure it was from the pool. All in all it's a great place to stay, just a few pool issues.

We would definately recommend staying at this property. The home was very nice and the location was great, within walking distance of Duval Street. This was a great value compared to a hotel. The downstairs shower is wonderful!
Problems we encountered was that the property had not been cleaned from the previous tenant when we arrived, but the agency got someone there right away, so we explored for a couple of hours while it was being cleaned. The cleaning person may have been in a bit of a hurry though - the floors could have used a little more attention. The only other recommendations we could make as far as the property itself is they should keep the gas bottle for the grill filled and it would be helpful to guests to have some maps, brochures and coupons available. There was also no dish soap. Other vacation rentals we have stayed at also provided a journal for guests to write in about their experience in the area.
If you have never been to the Keys before, be prepared, food and drink are very expensive. You also might want to budget for scooter or electric car rental - there's a place right across the street from the property to rent them. Once you park your car, you won't want to move it. To see all of Duval and the surrounding area, you're going to get really tired of walking. Also, if you have small children, I would not recommend taking them down Duval after dark - it's not particularly dangerous, but they might be exposed to some adult behavior that's really not appropriate for little ones.
If and when we return to stay in Key West, we would most likely rent this property again.

I have to be honest, I would like to keep this secret to myself! However, if you are looking for a relaxing holiday that is far enough from the action to be peaceful by day, but close enough to enjoy everything you might look for in the night life(it is a small island afterall :) this is a gem. The tasteful decor is quite remarkable for a rental unit. From the helpful staff of the HomeAway office to the well appointed home it is hard to think of something I would change...except maybe the roosters that live behind the units and don't understand we would like to sleep past 7am! I am getting ready to book our third year in a row in this unit...hope you love it as much as we do!

Despite Tropical Storm Faye's arrival during our stay, we had a wonderful time at Southern Wind. At Home in Key West was very accomodating in allowing us to ride out the storm...and we were so glad we did! This townhome is private and secluded yet very close to all Old Town attractions. We have stayed in Key West hotels many times before. This townhome offered so much more at a comparable price. We cannot wait to come back!

This condo, one of 13 units is in the perfect location for being a part of Old Town Key West. Not far from Duval, island transportation by scooter, bike or electric car rentals are near by. Plus a CVS that has anything you may need is in the next block! The condo itself is nice with both bedrooms upstairs with king beds. Most ammenties are up to date; but could use additional plastic cups and plates. We like the location of the unit away from the courtyard, with a nice shaded deck. The common area is great with a pool to share with the other units. Reserve early or you will miss out on a terrific experience!

I have been to Key West many of times with friends & to visit friends, so stumbling onto this beauty was bound to happen sooner or later. Thank god I stumbled onto it, a beautiful home tucked in so perfect in this private spot. It was everything I was told it would be, and the pictures I looked up didn't lie either. What a gem! From the beautiful grounds to the pool, atmosphere, it was everything I hoped for and more. (no joke) This is one I will always recommend to everyone I know.
My passion for Key West is so great I just can't go into detail, theres not enough room on here to do so. But believe me you have to see it for yourself. Everything was perfect. And I will be back! -

Southern Wind is a wonderful place to stay during your visit to Key West. All guests had private parking and a secure entrance. Upon entering the grounds, I was pleased with the landscaping and upkeep of the swimming pool. The Southern Wind located towards the back of the property and the exterior exhibited great charm. The privacy and quietness met my expectations with the exception of a rooster down the street that sometimes felt the need to wake us up very early. The interior was tastefully decorated and very clean.
The location is walking distance to Duval and there is really no need to rent a car. I will entertain staying here again should my travels take me back to Key West.
I also recommend At Home In Key West, Inc. The staff were very pleasant and accomodating.

Windward Park is very convenient since it's on Truman Ave. just north of Duval St. yet the privacy fence and trees give it a secluded feeling. We had the unit in the back corner which was even more private. Home was well maintained, nicely decorated and had many extras to make it feel like home. I would recommend to anyone except the elderly or handicapped (because both bedrooms are upstairs).

We stayed at the property during the Parrot Head Meeting of the Minds in October and found it to be extremely clean, comfortable and convenient to everything. There was a complete kitchen so we were able to prepare our own meals. The pool was lovely and heated for those chilly evenings. The home has a private good sized deck with a patio set for having coffee in the morning. The gates are locked so there are no unwelcome visitors. We highly recommend this property.
