Left on 09/26/2012 for a stay in September 2012
Pete's cottages are a great place to stay. Right on Duvall St but far enough away from the bars that it is very quiet and relaxing. Rent a scooter and no problems. Easy parking and great amenities abound.
This is our 2nd stay at Pete's and we will be returning. The private pool and backyard are very nice to have in a Key West rental.
Thanks Pete. -

Birmingham, ALgreat pool area! quiet end of Duval
Left on 09/18/2012 for a stay in September 2012
First, the office staff is very friendly, Paige, who has helped us with a rental before, is wonderful!!Listens to what you want and really tries to help. The cottage was fine, had everything we needed, the shared pool area was fabulous! We hardly saw the folks on the other side at all. The owners should probably update the mattress, the rusty fridge, the broken cd player, the washing machine, the bedding, and add some character...its pretty plain...but then again...its a rental! Location was perfect! Since it was slow season...it wasn't even a block off Duval, but was still quiet! Great value for this time of year!

We stayed at Petes cottage with another couple and could not have asked for a better place. Having stayed at hotels on the past in key west , we opted for a rental this time. Paige at KW rentals was the best!!! The cottage was clean , pool was beautiful and location perfect.(quiet end of duval) We will be back this summer !!

We enjoyed our stay at this cottage in Key West. Great location
To Duval Street and the Banana Cafe and Croissants of Paris were right around the corner. The wifi in his cottage is pretty weak so you might want to choose he west cottage if that is important to you. Good layout of space but could use some repair work and replacement of household items that are worn. Nothing major. -

Grand Rapids, MICozy and Clean with a Great Location
Left on 11/03/2011 for a stay in October 2011
Cozy, clean and well located.
This shotgun home remodel is small, but nice. Shared heated pool in back yard is lovely, as long as you don't mind sharing with the neighbors. Fortunately, our neighbors were shy and left the pool for our exclusive use.
Nice kitchen, though the refrigerator is rusting and some laminate coming loose on the cabinets (Remember, it is a rental). One bathroom. Not a lot of soft furniture. Sleeping loft is cozy and nice. Nice main bedroom with good closet space. Old televisions. Bring your own music and speakers. Location is about 150 feet off the quiet end of Duval Street, making it a nice location. Southernmost Beach and Cafe is our favorite beach in town and only three blocks away. Banana Cafe and a nice new coffee shop are just outside the door.
This is a nice house for a couple or a couple with a child who can handle spiral staircase to loft. Two couples will find it tight.
Overall, the desirability of this home depends on the renters expectations.
We loved it. Others may not.

House was nice. Need more beach towels. Power went out in lower bedroom and part of kitchen. Seems to be a short. Pool area needs a broom so we could sweep up. pool a little dirty. Mirror needed in loft room.

we all loved the house--it was all that it was advertised to be. The pool was beautiful and well maintained. The location--steps from Duval--was phenomenal. The condition of the house was good, the dealings with the rental company were smooth and friendly. We would certainly return for another stay.

Liverpool, UKPetes Cattage East... A touch of Paradise..
Left on 08/01/2011 for a stay in July 2011
I stayed at Petes Cottage East for 7 nights in July, Having visited Key West many times I am aware of some properties which don't quite live up to the descriptions. This property is not one of those. Through out the whole process of booking the accomodation, Rent Key West Vacations where professional, speedy and above all else friendly.
The property has a great pool, which altough shared with the adjoining cottage, it is large enough to accomodate both properties. The pool was cleaned twice during my stay, which added to an already great service.
The living accomodations again, where exactly as described, complete with winding spiral staircase (which was entertaining to climb after a couple or three margarittas), the beds where comfortable and all linens where clean and in excellent condition.
I didn't make use of the appliances in the kitchen apart from the the refridgerator which comes complete with a huge ice maker, and as you will know you can never have too much ice.. But there is a stove, microwave, blender, waste disposal, and all the flatware, and glassware you could require.
As for location, I couldn't want more, at the southern quiet end of Duval Street, you are only steps from bars, restaurants, galleries and everything else that Key West has to offer, yet once inside the property or lounging by the pool, you don't hear a thing.
If you have made it to the end of this review, I applaud you... Would I rent this property again? in a heart beat, and if things go to plan I will be contacting Rkwv to book for next year.

Pete's is located on the upper end of Duval and convenient to shops, galleries and restaurants while avoiding the honky-tonk at the other end of Duval. Accommodations and furnishings are at the lower end of the spectrum of what is usually seen in Key West and project a level of shabbiness. All in all, the great location and shared pool make up for any shortcomings.

Petes Cottage was a great place, close to Duval but very quiet. The pool was the best, just sharing with one other renter. We had the pool to ourselves, since other renter hardly used it, what a dream come true.

Left on 04/22/2011 for a stay in April 2011
I stayed at Petes Cottage East with my wife and son in april, 2011. Very cute cottage, well stocked kitchen, comfortable master bedroom and loft bedroom. Swimming pool and patio make Petes Cottage great value. We were able to park right in front of our cottage. Located 1/2 block from Duval Street, everything is within walking distance. Get cafe lattes at the Coffee and Tea House and eat at Banana Cafe 1/2 block away. We will definitely be back.

Left on 03/09/2011 for a stay in March 2011
This cottage was the ideal home base for my family's winter retreat in Key West. Architecurally, it is laid out superbly and makes the most of the small lots in the historic district. Everything in the house is thoughtfully stream-lined while comfortable and clean. The pool made entertaining the kids at any time of the day easy. We took advantage of the convenience of biking everywhere we wanted to go which was another great adventure for the kids. We can't wait to go back.

Left on 03/08/2011 for a stay in February 2011
The house was a perfect size for a family of 3 or 4. My brother and i slept in the loft upstairs, which was still roomy for two. The pictures of the house look smaller than it actually is. The house was very clean, and cozy.
The pool was fantastic, and the neighbourhood was pretty safe. It was nice being close to Duvall for night walks and shopping. -

We stayed at Petes for 5 days and it was everything billed and more. The location is perfect relatoing to Duval. Even though this cute cottage was only steps from Duval Street, we did not hear the noise or traffic while enjoying the pool. Highly recomended.

It was so easy to rent this cottage, and the service was fantastic, from the rapid response to the ease of picking up the keys. The cottage was a perfect retreat-cool, clean and cozy. The swimming pool was a great benefit for the hot days. The location is so close to Duval yet quiet. We walked to the local stores, bars and restaurants on a daily basis. There was no DVD player but we didn't stay in much! We will consider this location & Rent Key West in the future!

DeKalb, ILNice pool but house had some maintenance issues.
Left on 06/19/2009 for a stay in February 2008
Have stayed in both Pete's E and W cottages. Had to ask for some basic things to be supplied such as broom and dustpan, more towels, and wine glasses. TV remote didn't work and there was some rotting wallboard in bathroom where shower leaked. Neighborhood was quiet in spite of being close to Duvall. Pool was very nice and well maintained. House furnished basically but comfortable.

My husband and I loved Pete's cottage and have stayed there more than once. We we're fortunate enough not to have anyone renting next door- so it was wonderful, our own pool w/ privacy.
Staying at the opposite end of Duvall, I thought would be a drag. But, boy was I wrong. We were able to visit locations (rest, bars & shops) we wouldn't have visited otherwise. Not to mention it was quieter and you could take a short bike, walk or moped to the other end.
The only down side is the parking. (not much of it) Kinda of like winter in Chicago- where you have to claim your spot with lawn chairs (he-He)- We solved that by parking in the town garage and renting mopeds- problem solved!!!
