Monument, COGreat Location for a Local Experience
Left on 12/11/2012 for a stay in November 2012
The cottage was a great location to launch our week-long stay in Key West. We enjoyed the quiet evenings and the ability to hit a beach with a two block walk. The cottage is equiped with expected furnishings, but the master bed needs replaced immediately. We had a hard time sleeping as we sunk into the dip in the middle of the bed. Also, be sure to plan a trip to pick up all the neccessities of living if you plan to cook or clean up after yourself, including toilet paper. We had to purchase dishwasher detergent, laundry soap, sponges, trashbags and toilet paper. Every rental I have ever stayed in from the us to Eygpt has had the basics plus a little coffee, tea and basic spices to get you started. The location is great and you instantly feel at home in Key West.

All of our individually owned homes and condos are equipped with towels, linens, cooking equipment and , of course, furniture. We checked the bed out in question and all was fine. We stock the house with a beginning stock of paper and dish/clothes detergent then it is up to the guest to replenish if needed. There's plenty of convenience and drug stores nearby to purchase such things. We do not guarantee that any type of perishable food products will be in the house though many homes have some spices and tea's/coffees left behind from the previous guests using the 'paying it forward' mind thought.

Greensboro, GaBest vacation in years!
Left on 07/18/2012 for a stay in July 2012
It was our first trip to Key West and we were lucky enough to share our vacation with friends that had been to Key West many times before. Absolutely loved Pete's Cottage! It would have been awkward to share the pool with strangers but with our friends it could not have been any more perfect! Every need was thought of and provided for in the cottage. If I had to pin a negative on anything it would be the spiral stairs to the loft. They are very noisy and shaky. Well, that and the cranky neighbor! Lol * I recommend getting one of those electric thingys to zip around the island on! Parking can be a nightmare... I would also recommend that a journal be left in the cottage for other guests to write about the do's and don't's of their experiences so that guests that are new to Key West have a heads up on things to not miss out on and what to pass over! The location could not have been better! It's just steps away from the famous Duval Street! Our first night there we walked over to the pier and got to experience the most beautiful, full rainbow I have ever seen! What a welcome! We will most definitely be returning to Pete's Cottage with friends and family in tow! I do not recommend renting only 1 of the cottages due to the shared back space and pool. I can't wait to return with more family!

This is the 2nd time that I have rented from Rent Key West, and as with the first time it was an enjoyable pain free experience (apart from letting go of the money, but nobody likes that)...
This time I stayed in Pete's West Cottage, which is an exact copy of Pete's East Cottage, you can read my full review of that accomodation also on Flip Key or Rent Key West's website...
The only difference between the 2 houses is that if you need a really strong wi-fi signal choose the West Cottage as this is where the router for both properties is located, having said that I didn't have a problem when staying in the East Cottage with signal drop outs.
Once again the property made my stay in Key West all the more pleasurable, location is ideal, service from the Rental Company was first rate, and I will be renting both properties again in 2013..

What a great unit! Had everything we could've wanted and more. Loved the private "paradise" backyard and pool area. The patio doors and kitchen windows opened to this area and we loved the whole tropical feel. And we couldn't have asked for a better location. Walked across the street for breakfast/brunch...coffee shop around the corner, just wonderful!!! Will definitely look to stay here again and possible rent both units with more family and friends. Thanks so much for a great vacation!!!

usaWonderful holiday in a relaxing setting
Left on 12/15/2011 for a stay in December 2011
Had a lovely time at Pete's Cottage. Very clean, modern, good layout of the space. Lovely pool area, great location on the quiet end of Duval Street, but close to loads of restaurants and other points of interest.
The kitchen had all amenities (even a blender!) although a cutting board and pair of kitchen scissors would have been helpful.
Comfy beds, but we'd suggest that it is time to purchase some new linens and pillow. Some were very old and thin, and others had some stains on them (I think they've been washed in the on site washing machine, which are not at their best.) Not a major issue, but still, an easy fix.
Good closet space (but oddly no hangers were provided. Small thing, but kind of important when you're staying somewhere for a week!)
We would definitely go back to Pete's and would recommend it to others. -

Wonderful location 1/2 block off of the quiet end of Duval Street and the Banana Cafe. The inside is small but it offered almost everything we needed. Warning: no grill outside. The pool was very nice and we were lucky that the second rental house was rarely occupied. I would strongly suggest you rent both Pete's locations so that he sharing of the pool isn't. Problem. Wi-fi is not in this cottage and the signal is very weak;however, the rental company reset and moved it to the kitchen window and it did improve-but still a weak signal.

Everything I expected. Only comment I have is that the stairs to the loft need to be redone. They are narrow, shaky and loud. Possibly dangerous. Besides that, very nice place to stay. Definitely would stay there again.

The stay at Pete's West Cottage was perfect. It is an ideal location away from the noise at night and yet still close enough to everything withing minutes by scooter or walking. The washer/dryer was not operational, but not a major issue since Rent Key West Vacations provided pick up service.

Left on 10/27/2011 for a stay in October 2011
Pete's cottage was clean and updated. The location perfect for us. Right off Duval, on the south end. Close enough to walk to everything...including Goombay and Fantasy Fest activities. But far enough off to be quiet and peaceful when you needed it.
Wi-fi worked great. Could use updated TVs, but we didn't mind as we didn't watch much at all. The pool is beautiful and was heated. The upstairs loft is beautiful, but the staircase is a bit challenging. Small, spiral staircase. We elected to stay downstairs (just the 2 of us).
Really happy with the rental! -

Pete's cottage was exactly as the pictures showed. It was very clean, newly remodeled and very comfortable.
It is a bit far from Front street but is quiet at night because of that. If you can get a group of 8, rent both cottages for a good time.
The pool is shared but we had no problems with this.
Would definately recommend this to friends and family.

Left on 08/30/2011 for a stay in August 2011
This was a great space for a couple of girls who just needed a home-base for the weekend. It is just off of Duval Street, but on the quieter end. The coffee shop on the corner is phenomenal, and it is so easy to get around by foot or bicycle. The property was clean and very relaxing. The only a few things that were an issue. The air conditioning unit that turned on and off throughout the day--it made so much noise that it woke me up every time it turned on. The unit is right near the bed in loft. Also, if you need darkness to sleep in, make sure you get the downstairs bedroom--the loft is very bright in the morning because of the sky light. Also, the spiral staircase, while charming, is extremely rickety. Not in an un-safe manner, but it is metal and makes a tremendous amount of noise unless you tip-toe up and down very slowly. One of my friends ended up sleeping on the couch and I was always afraid I was going to wake her when I had to get up in the middle of the night. Otherwise, the beds were extremely comfortable, there was plenty of hot water for showers, having laundry facilities was useful, and the pool was beyond fantastic. I spent most of my time lounging by (and in) the pool. I would stay here again... as long as I got the downstairs bedroom! If you had a large group, renting both of the cottages would make for a really fantastic stay.

We got there and noticed right away how warm it was in the house. we called the next day to see if we could get the air conditioner fixed. They sent a maintenance man who told us it was frozen then left and never came back we called two more times and no response. I broke out with a heat rash and two of the four people got heat sick. We called for the assess code to use the wi-fy we left two messages and never got a response. For the money we gave them 2,100 for a week we expected better service and were greatly disappointed. We go there twice a year and will never rent from them again. we were promised a small refund and have not herd back from them yet. I would recommend the last place we spent the week at the Mahogany House.

Rent Key West Vacations Steve Rue and the staff are great people to deal with from the first call I made to them everyone had my interest at heart to make sure my stay at Pete's Cottage was a great one.
As for Pete's cottage itself was just right for us very clean and well stocked with dishes and other items.the pool was large and clean landscaping was well maintained. Having a washer and dryer out near the pool was nice also. The location just a stone throw off of Duval south end was a plus parking was on the street but when you are in Key West you should park the car and rent bikes to get around.
there are 2 Pete's cottages so if you have a large group you can rent both and have the whole place to yourself we were lucky and had great neighbors during our stay.We will defiantly stay here again and use Rent Key West as our agent of choice. -

Left on 01/08/2011 for a stay in December 2010
We looked long and hard for the perfect place stay during our week long vacation in Key West for New Years. We couldn't have been more satisfied. Pete's Cottage was perfect. It is located just off Duval Street right behind the Coffee and Tea House Key West (which came in handy on New Years morning!). We rented bikes from near by Tropical Bicycle two blocks away. While it was unseasonally cool, we still enjoyed the heated pool. We were also able to walk to sun rise pier in the morning and also to Mallory Square for sunsets. The team from Rent KW is great: our room did not have foam pillows or a top blanket when we arrived and they delivered them right away. We look forward to our stay next December.

House has a wonderful pool in the backyard, perfect for lounging. It is right off Duval but very quiet. The weather was great and we really enjoyed our stay. The circular metal stairs to the loft are a bit narrow and make alot of noise and I would suggest putting a mirror in the upstairs loft bedroom

Left on 05/13/2010 for a stay in April 2010
The description and pictures on the Rent Key West website are spot on, and the service was great. We found Pete's West to be a great, charming little cottage in a fantastic location close to everything. It suited the two of us perfectly for what we were looking for during our first trip to Key West. The few little things that weren't perfect (i.e., TV remote for living room TV didn't work, one of the kitchen drawers was broken) didn't bother us at all. More importantly for us, it had attractive and modern finishes and decor (nothing fancy but didn't need to be), it was certainly clean enough, the kitchen was very functional, the A/C was great, and having a washing machine and dryer was a big plus. Outside, it's not totally private as the pool is shared (if someone is staying next door) and there is a balcony at an adjacent property that overlooks the pool and garden. I'm sure parking might be a challenge during a busier time of year but we were able to park directly in front of the cottage as of the second day of our stay and since we were only there a week, we didn't use the car at all after that. Instead we rented bikes and used them as our main mode of transportation during our entire stay. Overall, a great experience.

Pete’s Cottage was all I expected and more! In all my travels and vacations, I
have yet to actually arrive and get exactly what I expected. The photographs
and description were very accurate and the staff at Rent Key West were
extremely helpful and friendly. Pete’s Cottage was very contemporary, but
“cottage like”, very welcoming and accommodating. Linens were like new and
kitchen was equipped well with all of the pots, pans, dishware and accessories
needed to eat in. The place was spotless and like new. Includes a front porch
and a back porch -- from the kitchen/dinning area French doors welcome you
onto to a deck that steps down onto a patio surrounding a large pool with a
waterfall. The pool is literally steps away from the kitchen! In addition, Pete’s
Cottage is steps away from Duvall Street. Shopping, dinning all at your
fingertips and accessible by walking. I had a wonderful stay and would highly
recommend this rental. Can’t wait to go back -

well situated house
meagre for the price - could have had better furniture. barely enough dishes to accomodate 3 people, needed more dish clothes, etc for kitchen cleanup, toilet paper should be supplied for the full week. Almost impossible to read by the reading lights.
I would look for another property in the future. We booked at last minute but this is very expensive for a relatively inadequate house
The pool was nice -

Left on 12/09/2009 for a stay in November 2009
The pool was a little difficult to navigate b/c of
limited external walking space but a small price to
pay for a mostly private pool and lounge area. The
cottage was in good condition and the kitchen
included all the amenities required to prepare and
eat in the unit.
The second floor loft made good use of what would
otherwise be dead space. The spiral staircase up
to the loft was narrow and would be difficult to
navigate for elderly and larger individuals.
The location was very accessible to all the action
and quiet at night.
We would rent again. -

Left on 07/16/2009 for a stay in June 2009
Rent Key West Vacations employees are professionals that take good care of their properities and their customers.
Pete's Cottage is a great house in a great location. The house is thoroughly modern with all the ammenities needed for a pleasant extended stay.
The furnishings and decorations make the house warm and inviting.
The pool and patio area are outstanding. For a private pool, it is huge. The patio makes this ideal for outdoor living.
It is located off the quiet end of Duval, so the noise and congestion of the other end of Duval are avoided. Yet, it is within a short bike ride, cab ride or walk of anything in Old Town.
My only two suggestions are:
1. Have a grill in the backyard.
2. Have wifi available in the house.
Thanks!
It was great! -

Upon arriving in at Pete's West Cottage, we were very happy with the accomodations. It was spacious and the layout was perfect for our needs. Unfortunately a few things do come to mind that were a disappointment. The waterfall in the pool did not work upon our arrival. The owner did try to accomodate but it wasnt repaired. There was not a barbeque grill on site which was disappointing as we planned to stay home and grill dinners in the evening. The kitchen was not very well stocked for cooking. Overall we enjoyed our time there and would consider this property again.

cant say enough about brad and the whole rent key west crew. after weeks of searching for the perfect house to rent for our vacation we found it. only problem, we had found some other guests the first night we stayed there. turns out, after no fault of rent kw, our island paradise was infested with hard wood termites. those little guys were having a good ol time. well, we thought the place was a little over booked for our taste. after alerting brad, he had us in another , even better house in no time. aside from alittle hickup the trip turned out to be wonderful and the house (505 louisa) was great.

First, you can't go wrong with Rent Key West's properties. Staff is great and make sure the whole experience goes smoothly.
Pete's Cottages is a great choice; each cottage is small but nicely updated inside and out. Location is good if you want to stay on the quiet end of Duval but still be in walking distance to everything that you want to see/do. The pool is just the right size and the patio area is private comfortable. We never had a problem finding a space on the street to park a car, but it may not be right in front of the house.
My only caveat would be that we rented both cottages at the same time for our group. If you're only renting one cottage you could end up with strangers sharing the patio and pool which obviously could change the whole experience. This wouldn't be my cup of tea as I'd hate to be bothered by unruly guests next door, or be the group that is more energetic and bug out neighbors.
Hope that helps! Enjoy your trip to Key West!
