This studio was very clean, tidy, comfortable bed and extremely well located. It had everything we needed and more. We will definitely be returning as we get engaged in front of the fireplace in this condo!! Perfect weekend!

San Antonio TXNice room at a very convenient location -- worked for family of

Nothing negative to say. Great parking (underground), hot tub and pool tables downstairs, ski lockers, and all set in the River Run 'community' of shops and restaurants. Used the the Norski rental location around the corner (good value, great location). The room accommodated 2 adults (Queen bed) and 2 teenagers (fold out couch / inflatable single) and made decent use of limited storage space for that many. Even so, with all the gear it could get a bit cluttered so be prepared and don't bring more than you need. Soft - sided luggage also stored better in the available non-living space, so I recommend maximizing that kind. Kitchen was 5 out of 5 for real cooking and amenities. Balcony overlooks the ice rink and north valley.
Only unexpected was that booking this room through SouthWest airlines routed the booking through Key to the Rockies, an off-site office about a mile away, not through the River Run Condo desk at the lobby level. This had several noteworthy repercussions:
1) "12 and under Kids ski free" promotions for staying at a Keystone Condo 2 nights were null and void, since it wasn;t booked through Keystone.
2) Late evening (after 7:00 pm) arrivals were required to check in at the Key to the Rockies office (again, a mile away) during saturday business hours to sign papers and get a credit card swipe (??). This was a distraction from skiing.
That said, when I couldn't make it on time to the office the following day, the staff was gracious and didn't lock me out of my room (as the welcome packet warned...) but were great hosts until I met them and signed everything a day late (they were nice after that too).
Being able to leave ski snowboard gear at the base of the Gondola free for all day or $5 for overnight is a great deal. they might fill up fast on busy days though, so the room's ski locker on the first floor is a decent back up. plenty of gear wagons to borrow if needed.Response from Key to the Rockies - 03/14/2013

Thank you for the review of Buffalo Lodge #8418. I would have to imagine it was a little cramped with four people, being a studio condominium, that is. I am glad you were able to make it work. We are an independent lodging company in Keystone and we are not affiliated with Keystone Ski Resort. Unfortunately, Keystone Ski Resort is able to extend specials on lift tickets, but they do not allow independent lodging companies in the area to sell their tickets. We wish they did! While we may not be able to offer free lift tickets for the children, we are able to guarantee specific lodging accommodations and when you book with us and request a specific unit number, location, building, bedding, anything, you will get what you ask for with Key to the Rockies. Our check in office is located 1/4 of a mile from the River Run area, centrally located in the middle of Keystone, directly on Highway 6. You must pass our office to get to River Run. Please consider Key to the Rockies again in the future, let us know what your needs are and we will find the perfect accommodations for you! Now that you have stayed with us, you automatically qualify for a minimum of 20% off, year round!

Just wanted to share what a great experience we had staying in the Buffalo. It was centrally located where we just needed to park the car and leave it. The room was quiet and the fireplace was wonderful. Thanks so much for a great experience!!! We will come again!!

This is a studio so small as expected. Location right in river run was great. Parking in the deck just underneath quite convenient.

Good room for a good price. I would have expected the room to be less attractive at such a low price.

Nice studio fit our needs as it was a long weekend retreat. May have needed to stay in a larger condo if staying longer than the weekend but for our family of 3 it worked. Nice location.

Forest Hill, MDI did not stay here...Never received a confirmation.
Left on 09/16/2010 for a stay in September 2010
I booked a rental in July for a wedding on Labor Day weekend. I never received a confirmation...When I realized on the day that I was traveling that I did not have a room (at least I thought I didn't) I went ahead and booked another room. Apparently there was a mix up on my part with who I booked thru. I was charged for 3 nights. I am hoping that you can credit this back to me since I did not stay there.
Thanks,

Had an issue with clean towels (had stayed >4nights and was supposed to recieve them but had to call several times)
Our keys were de'activated after three days and had to make an unconvenient trip back to the office to re'activate these (did not see anyone that worked for the key to rockies office on site, with exception of housecleaners)
Room was great and enjoyed the balcony

great access to town and slopes. In winter hallways were way to hot and room needed quiet humidifier. other than that everything was clean. we would go back

I am sorry that the hallways were a bit warm. Unfortunately we are unable to control that. I will try to touch base with the property manager to see if they are able to adjust that. I am glad you enjoyed your stay and we appreciate your review!

Left on 09/02/2009 for a stay in August 2009
To anyone that might consider staying at the Buffalo Lodge,,I would highly recommend doing.
Service was great,,,facility was spotless,,,and very comfortable,,,location cannot be beat,,,best part was of course the folks that live/work there,,,,they were so nice,,Colorado has so much to offer plus beat the heat in Texas.
I would say to all,,the best recommendation would be that I would stay at the Buffalo Lodge again without any hesitation.
