The beach is a short walk and it is beautiful. Bike rental is really easy and there are a lot of places to bike to and it's a great way to see the island. The villa is comfortable and had everything our family needed.

Pawleys Island, South CarolinaBeautiful settings but condo needs upgrades

The condo at the Tennis Center is in a great location. It is right beside the Sanctuary Hotel. It is a short walk to the beach and to a small market. The condo itself is small, and needs some updating. The master bedroom has a queen bed, and the second bedroom has two twin beds. This was not specified in the info on the condo. The decor is dated, and there is no wi-fi or high def tv (just perks that we are used to). My biggest complaint is the clutter. There are plastic bags of bed pillows and assorted stuff stuck in every space that we could have used for luggage and clothing, including under the beds. There are artificial flower arrangements everywhere. The bath towels are tiny and very thin, and not enough of them. I know this wasn't a luxury hotel, but I did expect better.
The view of the lagoon was nice. We saw deer, raccoons, birds, and alligators. All in all, this rental was all right, but not as nice as I thought it would be.Response from Joy Smith - 09/06/2012

To My Prior Guest and to My Future Guests:
The villa is the same size as all other two bedrooms and is suitable for four guests, just like it says. When this renter inquired she wrote there would be two guests! Guess what!! After booking she later told me there would be five. There would be two daughters and a daughters husband. Isn't that lying?! Can you believe this person? There is a beautiful new kitchen with all stainless steel appliances and very expensive, comfortable, large dining chairs overlooking the best lagoon view. There is a new top-loading washer and drier. I haven't replaced the large HDTV in the living room just yet as it has a beautiful picture and no one has complained about it or the internet, that can most of the time be used wireless.
I do have extra pillows and blankets in plastic bags on top shelves of the closet and a few drawers because there is little storage space. However, there is plenty of closet space and more than enough empty drawers for guests spending a week. There are two full sets of towels in each bath, just as there are in any other island rental. They are not huge heavy bath towels, as it takes too long for the housekeeper to get them and all the bedding dry before the next rental.
There are beautiful new quilts in both a very pretty twin bedroom and a beautiful master bedroom. The villa is coordinated in pastel colors. There are only a few pretty artificial flower arrangements, that I certainly wouldn't call objectionable. Look at the pictures online!
I am so sorry you were disappointed because I receive email comments all the time after folks have left and everyone has said how much they loved it. No one has ever said otherwise to me! I save them and can send their emails to anyone who wants to read them. I am a proud owner of a lovely villa in the best location on the island.

We have spent our vacation on Kiawah for seven years. This villa provides everything you want on this picturesque island. That is why we returned to this villa for two consecutive years and will visit again the next time we stay on Kiawah. My family loved sitting on the deck watching the alligators in the lagoon. It's only about a seven minute walk to the beach and is next door to the Sanctuary. It's centally located and is nicely furnished with all the comforts of home.
You won't go wrong staying here.

We loved the quiet and beautiful location of this resort. The grounds were well kept, the landscaping was gorgeous and the walk to the beach was lovely. We had a great time, very relaxing. The only regret is that we never saw Big al, (the alligator)

This was the most relaxing vacation I've ever had - Beautiful villa with all amenities of home ! Shuch a short walk to the beach and so much wildlife seen on the way to and from the beach. The bedroom view as well as the kitchen, living room and porch overlooking the lagoon water is so peaceful. Even chairs for the park concerts and movies. The big wicker chairs in the kitchen are so nice along with the ability to eat on the porch outside. Beautiful grass-cloth wallpaper throughout hall and living area.Best night sleep I've had in a long time - Peace, quiet - Rest and Relaxation is what it was all about. Short walk next door to the Sanctuary too. I'll be back longer and more often !

Only issue really is the quality of the furniture. Mattresses a little saggy and the couches really need to be replaced--threadworn and saggy.
Otherwise a really nice unit in a great location. -
