      Repeat visitor

We have stayed in this unit three times now. Wanting to be away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Kihei this location is perfect. We can see the sunset every night, either by walking to the beach or from our balcony. Shopping is a short drive away. Since there are only 10 units there is never others using the pool, bar-b-que, or the laundry machines. The plantings are varied, colorful, and well cared for. It is very low key which is much to our liking. The service was excellent. Upon arriving we had an issue that was promptly taken care of to our highest expect ions. The unit was perfect for our family and we will stay there again.

The manager was very accomadating if you needed anything.

The two gas grills and the pool outdoors are a excellent reason for staying here.

My wife loves the beautyful, well kept flower gardens on the property.

      Amazing sun-sets

Not worth half the price we paid.

Left on 02/15/2012 for a stay in January 2012

We have stayed at that and other units of Wailana Kai before; we have never been so disappointed than this trip, and especially for the amount of money that we paid. The main point is that it was very dirty. We had to empty the cupboards and wash everything; then the microwave, the stove, and so on. We found ants by the thousands everywhere, never had this problem in our previous trips. We pulled the stove and fridge and found that it hadn't been cleaned in most likely years. The old T.V.'s channel changer didn't work, we could only get a few channels that were not worth watching. The couches smelled of dirty feet, and so on, a sad experience. As I have cancer and a very bad back, my intention were to read, rest, watch t.v., etc.. The location is excellent, close to the beach, quiet, good parking, bbq,... On top of what I've just mentioned, there were around five or more dogs that lived in other complexes around the units that never stopped barking. As we know most of the people in the Wailana Kai units, as we play cards every afternoon at four and talk, they were very sad of having to live in this kind of environment. Some of them live there, they were going to do something about the noise. All in all, the worst stay at Wailana Kai since our first stay there in 1999.

Everything that was needed was taken care of before our arrival. This left the rest of our trip free for us. It was absoulutly amazing and we enjoyed every minute of our stay.

Only suggestion would be to have a better working internet.

      Wailana Kai - Kihei

Left on 03/25/2010 for a stay in March 2010

We've stayed here on several ocassions and quite simply, if you are on budget, but want clean, well spaced accommodation that's affordable and right across from the beach, you cannot go far wrong with this choice.

The only negative is the size and temperature of the pool, small and cool, but the ocean is opposite. If you're going to swim in the ocean then do it in the morning when the sea is flat calm and before the winds get up in the afternoon.

On the whole, a great spot, quiet at night and worth a visit.

Nice place - I'd stay there again

Left on 02/22/2010 for a stay in February 2010

The condo was clean, the furnishings were well kept,
the kitchen was moderately stocked, and the beds were
comfortable. It is close to the beach, but the pool
was nothing to look at. The location is nice, very
centrally located to activities. The only problems
were that the bathroom exhaust fan didn't work nor
did the TV remote, other that that it was a very nice
place to stay while on the island. The folks at
Bello were nice to work with.

The condo needed to have some of the baseboard tiles in the kitchen by the fridge replaced. The audio system had no instructions how to operate the TV and DVD/CD player. We would stay again.

      Great winter vacation

Left on 06/28/2009 for a stay in February 2009

We were lucky enough to find this condo on our second trip to Maui. We enjoyed our stay so well that we rented the same unit the next two years and Feb. of 2010. We love the unit for all of the amenities of home and the fantastic view of the ocean, to be able to whale watch from the lanai.
One of the main reason for renting the unit was the reasonable price.

It was just as good the second time around.

Left on 06/26/2009 for a stay in April 2008

Our 2008 stay at Wailana Kai was just as good as our earlier stay in 2004, when the facility was under different management. Our first stay was at the upper unit on the other end of the building (205 if I remember correctly). At that time, the young couple who managed the units lived just below us, and were vefy helpful in suggesting things to do, places to shop, etc. They were gone for a while during the time that a strong storm put out the power to most of Kihei, but as soon as they returned they provided us with flashlights and candles. We were very impressed with our stay there, and with the way the unit was furnished. There were 4 adults in our unit that time, and we made use of the beach chairs, towels, and mats which were available, as well as the grills in the courtyard below. The second time, we were three adults with a 12-year-old girl. In this unit (201) there were also other beach items, including boogie boards, and sand toys if we had had younger children.
We liked the fact that the facility was very clean and quiet, economically priced, only a couple hundred yards from the beach (we had a direct view from the lanai attached to our living room right down the street to the water--the earlier unit had a partial view--and went to sleep at night listening to the surf. From the other side of the apartment, we had a nice view of Haleakala, when it was not enveloped with clouds. Kihei is very convenient for touring the island, being not far from the Lahaina/Kaanapali area, and much closer to the rest of the island than Kaanapali. This unit is about a mile north of downtown Kihei, and is very convenient to downtown shopping and restaurants. The facility was very well supplied, and we had everything we needed to prepare the many meals we ate in, or packed to take on the road. This, with the reasonable cost of the unit, made our visit to Maui very economical. If we ever return to Maui, we certainly would try to book our stay here again.

      A heckuva deal!

Left on 06/26/2009 for a stay in December 2007

Until I saw this Bello property, I never thought one could get what amounts to a fully furnished beach house in Maui for such an affordable price. We thought it was a steal!

Furthermore, their customer service was outstanding. The departure time for our flight home ended up getting delayed from 1PM till about 11PM. Since our checkout time with Bello was at around 11AM, we suddenly found ourselves stuck with nowhere to stay for that entire last day. But, the people at Bello graciously allowed us to stay for the rest of that day, at no charge!

Their generosity really helped us out in a time of need. We will definitely use Bello again the next time we're in Maui.

      HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

      Great View / Great Location

Left on 06/26/2009 for a stay in March 2007

This is a great location. Just about 100 yards from the beach where we were able to see numerous whales. Nice balcony that we enjoyed our delicious Kona coffee from every morning. Good sized kitchen with everything you need to be able to prepare meals if you want.
Really the location is great and is in the middle of Maui so it's not that far from anywhere. I've been to Maui a couple of time and will stay here from now on. Great price and bedrooms are perfect for a family or group traveling together. Hope this helps. Had a pool but never went since the beach was so close. Also had washer and dryer but never had to use.
