My husband and I had to book a place last minute for a destination wedding in Maui. The owner, Norman, was kind enough to call me and set up all the details for our stay. The entire process was easy, and we couldn't beat the price for a stay in Maui. The location was great! We were right within walking distance to restaurants, stores, and the beach was right across the street. It was fabulous watching the sunrise from the lanai, and the condo was so comfy, and had everything we needed for our stay. I can't say enough about the owner Norman who was very responsive to my emails, and gave detailed directions for our route from the airport to the condo. We wish we could have stayed longer in a place that made us feel right at home. Mahalo Norman!

We stayed at Norman's condo for a month. During that time our daughter was married on the beach nearby and this location was perfect for all the comings and goings. You would not need to rent a car as there is a very good grocery store well within walking distance as well as several restaurants and small shops. The Maui bus is 2.00 a day and that will take you to most places on the island. There is lots to see from the lanai. We saw whales most days. The kitchen is well stocked. We enjoyed ourselves very much and are planning to return next year for a longer stay. Thank you Norman for everything.

I flew from australia with my young son to meet my mother who flew from the UK and we chose Norman's condo as our meeting point. We had a fabulous time. The condo was fully equipped with full kitchen and laundry, wifi, Dvds etc. The balcony had an ocean view and the building had a very nice and quiet pool. The condo also had very easy parking access and was within a 2 minute walked of a big supermarket and other shops and restaurants which meant we could push the pram round the corner instead of having to drive anywhere. All in all, Norman's place was just perfect for what we wanted and Norman was very accommodating in making sure my deposit was returned overseas.

Halip's condo was perfect for us. The view was beyond our expectations spanning near 180 degrees. We particularly enjoyed sitting on the deck each morning to watch the ocean paddlers, joggers and the like.
The king bed was comfortable and the kitchen/living room has a spacious, open feel to it. The condo is well stocked with pots, pans, utensils and dishes and there are plenty of towels for bathroom and beach. We were pleased that the location was quiet and serene mornings and evenings. This condo is a reasonable price for a fabulous stay.
The condo is in close proximity to just about everything you might need. We had a car although groceries, restaurants, a small beach, standup paddle surfing rentals and various shopping centers are all within walking distance. Beautiful swim/snorkel/boogie board beaches are all short drives from the condo---great location---great condo---great vacation. -

LOCATION - very easy to find, on the main strip of Kihei, 20mins from Kahului Airport, Foodland (open 24hrs) is only 2 blocks away, surfing school right across the road, unobstructed view of the ocean from balcony, quiet, loads of restaurants and shops just steps away. Apartment is exactly as described on website. AC not required - ceiling fans were in good working order and sufficient (we stayed from June 25 to July 3rd and did not use the AC once). There is a pool in the building with a BBQ area, but we did not need to use it because the ocean is just steps away.
AMMENITIES - fully equipped kitchen, comfortable king size bed, beddings could use some upgrading. This apartment has everything you can think of - cooler, floaties to use in the ocean, beach towels, ironing board, hairdryer, snorkelling gear, straw mats for the beach, toilet paper, paper towel, detergent, on and on...Anything you think you need, Norman has already thought of it for you.
OVERALL IMPRESSIONS - I have already recommended this condo to three other people who are planning to visit Maui. Maui is without a doubt, paradise on earth, and Norman's place is the icing on the cake. The value for location is amazing. Read some reviews that said noise was a problem, but this is ridiculous! You are in the middle of Kihei - it's part of the charm and atmosphere and has nothing to do with this wonderful condo. For the eight nights that we were there, not once did we see a traffic jam or heard someone honk the car horn. This condo allowed us to experience what it is like to actually live in Hawaii and we are hooked. I have been to many parts of the world and stayed at some very nice hotels, but none as memorable as this. Norman, thank you for your honesty and allowing us the opportunity to love Hawaii as much as you do.

My family stayed three days at Norman's condo as part of our spring break Hawaii trip, everything worked our great! The place is conveniently located; condo is well equipped, and with nice ocean view. If you are interested in taking a surfacing lesson, it's right next the building! I wish we could spend some more time at the condo enjoying the ocean view, but we are mostly on the road during the day. I would certainly recommend this nice condo!

This condo is in a great location, convenient to so many things - shopping, beautiful beaches, parks, etc. It was comfortable and clean, all amenities are as described. The view was fantastic, the breeze from the lanai allowed us to live a/c free. Norman was easy to work with, our vacation went off without a hitch - except for a little tsunami warning!!

Just returned to California from our vacation at Norman's outstanding condo.
Kihei is a safe town to walk, drive, motorcycle or bike - awesome beaches, central to the all of Maui. Normans' unit is directly across the road from the best Stand Up Paddle (sup) on the island. Rental is on the ground floor of the Island Surf condo as well as across the street. Breakfast on the lanai is wonderful particularly because we were always joined by a dove that perched on the rail serenading us. The condo is equipped with a new kitchen appliances, bathroom, furniture and floors. Flat screen cable TV, Wi Fi & washer/dryer are all in the unit. The traffic on the street can be heard but is not a problem as most Kihei condos are on the same road. When the traffic calms (as it does after dark) we can hear the surf and see the stars. There are many highly reviewed restaurants, fun places, & shopping within a walking distance. A block form the condo is an upstairs dance floor with live salsa, rumba, tango and cha-cha music to enjoy with no cover charge. The pool & barbecues are another nice place to spend the evening. There is lots of safe parking with a 12-foot fence and one entrance. Many of the residence in the condo reside all year and are protective of the area as well. Aloha Motor Sports, 2463 S Kihei Rd, south of us offered the best prices on moped rental. The manager gave us a great deal and motoring on two wheels is a fun way to see the south Makena with easy parking at the beaches. Norman stopped by but we missed meeting him. He is a gracious host, concerned that you enjoy your stay. I hesitate writing that the unit is under-priced, as I want to come again.

My husband and I spent two most peaceful months in Norman's condo,who is a wonderful person without the condo!
He told us places to see and saw that every thing was okay before he left us.
The condo is just a short walk through a small park to the ocean.
But we enjoyed just sitting on the lanai watching the life below or the surfers,waves or whales on the ocean or reading and listening to the waves slapping the shore. At night when all the other activities had stopped I wood sit out there looking at the stars--peaceful.I hope the guests after us feed my deformed little dove!!!
The condo has all the conviences of home,I really liked the washer and dryer.It was clean and neat.
Charley Beach about two blocks away got to be our favorite.
It has a couple of miles of beautiful sand.
There is shopping, eating places all with in walking distance of the condo.
The resident manager and his staff kept the whole building clean and tidy.
We had such a great stay we are booked to go the same time in 2012!

We just got back from our stay at Norman's outstanding condo. First... Kihei is a great town to stay in - great beaches, weather & central location to the rest of Maui. The condo is directly across the street from a lovely park & beach + close to lots more . The view from the lanai is great and the condo is completely remodeled and up dated - new kitchen & appliances, bathroom, furniture and floors. Flat screen cable TV, Wi Fi & washer/dryer. While it is true you can hear the traffic on the lanai (tho' not in the bedroom) - but all the good Kihei condos are on the main road.. because that's where the beach is. The traffic wasn't "noisy" to us - we always heard the surf too. And the traffic dies way down by around 8 pm.
The coolest restaurants, fun places, & shopping start just a short block away. Try the walu! The grocery store is great and a pleasant two blocks walk or drive - they have great fish - "poke" - prepared foods - and wine or spirits for your sunset celebration. The pool & barbecues are nice too. Lots of parking. There are restaurants, dive shop, and activities right there. Norman is a wonderful host too, so don't be confused by the price.. it's worth a lot more. -

We had a wonderful week's stay at Norman's condo. Our 19 year old daughter used the futon and was comfortable. The unit is well stocked, with nice extra's like beach chairs, coolers,snorkel equipment and boogie boards. Even had aloe gel for the sunburns! Norman bent over backwards to make us comfortable and gave us personalized attention and care. He is a super nice guy, and we look forward to staying again. The view is incredible from the lanai, and as others have mentioned, this unit is walking distance to stores, dining, and beaches. There is also Discount Care Rental office in the building which made the rental care option easy:) The only drawback to this unit is if you are a light sleeper the street noise can be a little loud. Other than that, this is a real good value.

I was pleasantly surprised when I entered Norman's condo, especially for the price!
I didn't need to rent a car, except for the one day I drove 1/2 way to Hana, due to being walking distance to restaurants and nightlife. For only $1 you can take the bus to Waimea where you can transfer buses to Lahania for an additional $1 (lots of shops and art galleries). For $1 more I recommend taking the bus From Lahania to the Sheraton where the snorkeling is the best, plan on spending the entire day there!
The condo was nicely furnished and being right accross from Kalama Park was incredible with awesome ocean views from the Lanai.
I would highly recommend Norman's place for location and value!

"We had a wonderful time staying at norman's condo in kihei. He gave us an incredible deal for 9 days. The location was close to everything and within walking distance to many of our favorite places. Watching the surfers across the street for 4 days finally convinced me to try it and I absolutely loved it!! The condo was just like in the pictures so we weren't surprised when we got there. The only reason why I gave it 4/5 stars was because it was a little noisy outside but it had nothing to do with inside the condo. Thanks so much Norman, I will definitely recommend you to others heading your way!"

My husband and I stayed at Norman's condo for 10 days in July. The location is perfect as it is walking distance to many restaurants and beaches and centrally located to drive to areas such as Lahaina, Hana, and Wailea. We enjoyed many breakfasts on the patio watching the surfers ride the waves and locals strolling by. There was ample parking behind the condo for our rental car which we used most days. We loved having a full kitchen (fully stocked with plates/pots/blnder/etc) and cooked many meals. This condo is perfect for a relaxing and affordable stay in Maui. Thanks Norman - we will be back!

My husband and I live in Hawaii and are always looking for places to stay for local getaways. Norman's condo is just like it presents in the listing. It's spacious for 2 people, very comfortable and has everything you need especially if you do some of your own cooking on vacation. The view from the lanai is wonderful especially in the early mornings. We liked the pool area which was usually deserted when we went out to swim and the Bbqs are new and very well maintained. The best part about the condo is the location. You are in the heart of Kihei and in walking distance to anything you could possibly want - stores, restaurants, the beach, movie theater, library, etc. The only small drawback is some noise - the road noise during rush hour and the noise from Lulu's off in the distance at night.

The location is very convenient, close to anything you could need, with an awesome view of the ocean from the balcony. I will miss watching the morning surfers while having breakfast every morning! We were so pleased with our condo rental at Island Surf through Norman Halip. Everything went smoothly from making the arrangements, meeting Norman and our wonderful nine night stay. We have stayed in Maui many times paying considerably more and found this place the absolute best value! We were in walking distance to grocery stores and across the street from beautiful Kalama Beach. Location was great. The condo had all the amenities of higher priced places. We would highly recommend this place to anyone staying in Kihei.

Went to Maui for a quick get away, Norman the owner was very helpful and accomodating with our needs. The Condo had everything we needed and was very comfortable. We went to the newly renovated pool area every day and were usually the only ones there. The Condo is located within walking distance to restaurants, stores and the beach. We liked the location and price of this Condo, and compared to others we sourced out it really was great value. We also really liked meeting Norman, he's a super fellow and only a phone call away if you need anything. We will vacation here again.
