CalgaryGreat space in paradise
Left on 04/11/2013 for a stay in March 2013
This is our second stay at the Royal Mauian and our first in unit #519. We love this space for its size and the ease of access to the wonders of Maui. It has been renovated and has all ameneties necessary to feel at home. We did entertain a fair bit in our unit and one missing piece is wine glasses, could have used a few more.

We spent a week in this unit and we were very pleased with all the unit had to offer. This was our first time not staying ocean front but it didn't bother us one bit. The unit was completed updated, clean and very comfortable for our family of four and we still had a view from the lanai so we had nothing to complain about. The rental company was also exceptionally helpful and accomodating from start to finish which was a nice treat. Much easier than dealing with an individual living thousands of miles away! I'd recommend this place to anyone.

Shorewood, ILAs advertised!!!
Left on 07/11/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We booked based on the cost as it was listed as a ''partial view'' unit, and we e to do things on Maui, not for the view. The room was clean and contained all the amenities we needed with three teen-agers: kitchen, laundry and proximity to stores and restaurants. The ali"i resort people were very easy to work with thru the entire process.

The service was very good, someone always available by phone if I had a question or concern. The suite was nice, had everything we needed and the location was superb. We liked being central (in Kehei) as well as being on the same side of the road as the beach. The roof top deck is amazing and we had wonderful sunset dinners on the roof deck. Also liked falling asleep under the stars in the lawn chairs near our building. It would have been useful to have more items at our disposal like beach toys, boogie boards, etc. A family we met on the beach gave us these items to use when they left and we left them for the next guests in suite 519! Hope they came in handy like they did for us. As well, the beds are very comfortable. Only complaint: the suite needs a new cooler. The current cooler was very dirty and we had to wash it out and it is quite torn (and was like that when we started using it). Otherwise, everything was great!

We had a great vacation and were overall happy with the accomodations. We had some problems with the air conditioning in one of the bedrooms and the room smelled a bit like mildew but ali'i Resorts was fair and compensated us for the trouble. I would definitely recommend ali'i Resorts to our friends and family booking there in the future.

Taber ABVery comfy condo & great rooftop patio for watching sunsets
Left on 02/11/2012 for a stay in January 2012
Overall we enjoyed staying in #519. The resort personnel were very welcoming and helpful. The condo was in a great location, within walking distance of many shops and restaurants. And Kihei is a central spot for travelling elsewhere on the island. #519 was well kept up and having 3 a/cs in the condo was great. The rooftop patio was beautiful. We had a few concerns though. The couch was very uncomfortable, definitely needs replacing. The living room rug was very stained. The showers' edges and grout could have been cleaned a little bit better. And the kitchen was very poorly stocked with any food products, cooking spices etc. There were only a couple of little jars of bbq spices. There wasn't any sugar, salt or pepper -the basics. Got expensive having to buy all of these items. We had heard of others that rented elsewhere having a fully stocked kitchen, so we were surprised to see this one was not stocked at all. But overall, we really enjoyed our stay there and would definitely go again.

San FranciscoUncomfortable
Left on 02/02/2012 for a stay in January 2012
This condo is superficially "pretty". However, there was just no comfortable way to use it. Couch sinks down to the hide-a-bed mattress. Kitchen and bar chair made of wicker and wrough iron, and with the new elevated height of them, you couldn't sit more than a few minutes. Same goes for the lanai chairs, only the reverse--chairs too low for the table. My daughter used the second bedroom and said the bed was so uncomfortable she'd rather sleep on the floor.
The view not spectacular, but just listening to the waves was enough for me. I did like the master bedroom opening to the lanai and thus great sound of the water. -

Left on 01/11/2012 for a stay in December 2011
Carne was great - very pleasant lady.
The condo was fine but it really needs an update. It could use the following:
- the couch is horrible - we were unable to sit on it and to sleep on it is impossible
- there were no bar-b-que utensils to use to bar-b-que
- there is no normal toaster
- there is a broom that has seen better days and no dust pan to sweep the floors
- nothing to clean with
- the mattress pad in master bedroom needs to be replaced as it is in shreds around the edges
- the linen closet is basically bare
- the cooler bag is very ragged, tattered and dirty
- the area mat in the living area is very dirty
- grout in the tile in bathrooms hasn't been cleaned for a while.
I think for the amount of money that is charged the condo should have more comforts available ie matching set of glasses, more than 2 wine glasses, get rid of the melted plastic containers.
The pictures that we seen on the internet when we choose this condo are certainly not what we got and this is disappointing. -

Maple Ridge, B.C.Spectacular roof top sunsets!
Left on 12/15/2011 for a stay in November 2011
Had a wonderful stay in unit 519. we went knowing the we didn't have a ocean front unit, and it really wasn't much of a concern. We were either on the beach or on the roof cooking and eating. The roof top patio was an amazing place to watch the sunsets and visit with other guests. We would definitely go back!

VancouverAwesome location
Left on 11/11/2011 for a stay in October 2011
The condo was in a terrific location for sun, sand and snorkelling.
Kihei is a great central location for travelling to the rest of the island.
The unit itself was updated, extremely clean and well stocked. Also, all bedrooms had a/C units (which is very rare for this complex.) The lanai was the only disappointment- as it is very loud and hot with the air-conditoning fan running. We would definitely recommend to friends?family and we would stay again! -

Salt Spring IslandLoved the location, not so much the view...
Left on 10/05/2011 for a stay in September 2011
So this is the thing... the vast majority of units at the Royal Maui have ocean facing views that are spectacular, but 519 (and all the 19s) are not in that majority. Instead, they mostly face the parking lot, and the building adjacent to it, with just a sliver of ocean view if you are on the rail of the lanai. So that was pretty hard to take, given the premium price, and our intentions of relaxing at sunset on our lanai with elderly guests. Also, the noise from dumpster trucks and leaf blowers every morning seemed excessive and too early for a vacation destination. Upsides were: lots of space in the renovated 2 bdrm. Great location on first class beaches with food & shopping steps away, modern appliances with w/d and dishwasher, beautiful rooftop BBQ patio, great front counter staff, prompt service response to missing fry pan, ample parking. In truth I've no regret but the missing sunset from the lanai, which was for me, more important this time around than it need be for other visits. I might stay there again...

Unit 519 was a great choice for our vacation. We spent a fair bit of time in the room due to poor weather, but did not feel like we were cramped. Loved the tropical decorations and lay out, and really hope to return soon.Perfect location to shops and the beaches. Barbeque deck was fantastic!

Left on 09/06/2010 for a stay in November 2009
The condo was great and when we had a couple of problems upper condo leaking into ours the aLI staff was quick to get on the issue. The view from the side deck was ok if you were at the edge rails and if you ran the a/C it was way to hot and noisy to sit on the lanaii. So view not good but cond location is good and the beach is great Kamaole#1 I think. Pool was very clean. We should have used the top floor barbecue area more it was very nice.

Edmonton, Alberta, CanadaGreat location, nice suite
Left on 09/06/2010 for a stay in February 2010
We had a wonderful vacation at the Mauian. Our family, including 2 teenagers, found the accomodations excellent. Located right on the ocean, with a good view from the balcony (not direct but still nice). The suite was very clean. Full kitchen plus washer and drier - very handy for longer stays. Intenet connection so kids could keep in contact with their friends on facebook. Located between 2 beautiful beaches. You can rent surf boards near by. Excellent snorkling right on the beach - saw fish and turtles.
Lots to do within reasonable drive. Shopping within walking distance as well as lots of good restaurants. 20-30 minute drive to Lahaina which has shopping, dining and a great Luau. My husband did lots of golfing. There are excellent snorkling, whale watching and dolphin watching tours that leave close to the condo.
Airport is 20 minutes away. Also there is a walmart and costco close to the airport - great for groceries.
Overall, a great place to go as a couple or family. We are going back again this year. -

The place was nice and met all our needs. My family owns a condo next door so I missed staying there, especially for free. The place was clean, updated, nice style, everything the photos showed. No surpirses thankfully!! Welcome gift basket was nice touch. Fyi, drain in the bathroom nearest kitchen needs to be cleaned. Water backed up fairly quickly while showering. Not gross or anything, just for your info.

Our stay in unit 519 at the Royal Mauian couldn't have been better. The condo seemed to be recently renovated, was very clean with new appliances and comfortable furniture. Our host did a great job welcoming us, showing us the amenities of the condo and providing recommendations for places to eat in the area. We look forward to staying here again in the near future!
