Sandpoint, IdahoWe Love Sugar Beach
Left on 02/08/2013 for a stay in January 2013
My wife and I have spent two weeks in January at Sugar Beach six years in a row. This year (2013) was our first in unit 124. Unit 124 is the best of the condos we have stayed in--just steps from the best walking beach on Maui, with great sunsets and great whale watching. The unit is nicely upgraded with granite countertops, two flat screen TVs and comfortable furniture, and the most user-friendly kitchen of all the Sugar Beach units we have stayed in. The kitchen is not as well equipped as it should be: we found no sharp knives, no pancake turner, no potato peeler, no dish scrubbing brush, a single cereal bowl, and inadequate pots and pans. We sharpened the one knife that could be sharpened (at a friend's house) and purchased a pancake turner, brush, and potato peeler, and left them in the unit. We found these deficiencies to be a recurring theme at Sugar Beach ( 4 units we have stayed in), but these shortcomings do not outweigh the positives of the place.

Chehalis, WashingtonA wonderful location to enjoy the beach, pool and make friends.

Sugar Beach Resort was a comfortable place to stay.
We were introduced to it by friends that have
stayed there several times. It has great amenities and
is not far from many great areas to explore.
We would love to stay there again.

Our room was great , had a great time. The only issue we had was next door at 122 a lady was smoking inside and put of her room and it was disgusting. Their was a clear sign in her door that it also was a nonsmoking room. We also got our cooler stolen right infront of our door. We believe it was her kids. The smoking thing really bothered us. Our room started smelling like smoke if we opened the slider.

We esp. liked being able to walk out our sliding door unto the grass & unto the beach & into the ocean. The pool & hottub was great & enjoyed using the great grills. Nearby golfing was also great.

Left on 12/07/2011 for a stay in November 2011
This was our second stay at Sugar Beach #124. Here are some of the features we liked and used the most.
1. Right on the beach. Just walk out the door and you are steps from the beach.
2. With a full kitchen we ate all breakfasts on the lanai at the unit saving us time and money.
3. Centrally located in North Hihei this is a sunny location close to most everything.
4. Comfortable and quiet
5. Free onsite parking.
6. Nice Pool and hot tub.
7. Bar-B-Que grills available a few steps away.
Two minor issues. The shower head was in need of replacement, and the kitchen sink faucet needed to be tightened.

Portland, Or.The condo, location, beach, service were beyond our expatiations.
Left on 11/30/2011 for a stay in November 2011
This was our first visit to the Kihei area. We've stayed in Kanapali a couple of times before. In our opinion Kihei is more relaxing and laid back. We would never go back to Kanapali again. Sugar Beach Resort has it all. The condo was perfect. The facilities had a great pool, hot tub,six Bbq's.Not to mention right on a sandy beach, with an awesome ocean, sunset view. There also was a nice pub style restaurant bar and snorkel and boogie board rental facility on premises. There was also an excursion, tour company to help you sign up to see whatever you want in Hawaii.
There is no doubt next time we come to Maui we'll be staying at Sugar Beach Resort In Kihei Hawaii. Thanks to all the staff at Sugar Beach Resort for making our two week stay the absolute best we've ever experienced anywhere in Hawaii.

This unit was great. Huge rainstorms b4 our arrival made the water brown from south Kihei to Kaanapali. Had to drive >20 minutes from Sugar Beach to get to water safe to swim in. Only reason didn't give 5 stars.

Left on 03/15/2011 for a stay in December 2010
The location steps from the ocean with fantastic sunsets was ideal. Easy "free" parking right in front of your condo.
Cooked most breakfasts in the unit saving $$ on breakfasts out.Close to shopping and just about everything you might want to do. Check out the Snorkel rental right at the resort. Get there early as this is a good value.
If you are a Costco member stop by on the way from the airport to pick up supplies and wine if you are so inclined. Many good restaurants close by, so enjoy!! -
