Carmichael, CARight on the beach!
Left on 05/25/2012 for a stay in April 2012
The room itself was extremely comfortable -- great deck, especially, to enjoy the early morning sun. The only negative regarding the location is the wind: every day from about 11:00 until early evening.

Every other year we fly to Maui and always enjoy our stay at the
Sugar Beach Resort...the setting is perfect and our unit is always
clean and welcoming. The location is perfect for getting around the
island. -

Gig Harbor, WAI definitely would return!
Left on 10/05/2011 for a stay in September 2011
We were looking for a reasonably priced place to spend the week with friends. This was it. The location was terrific. The proximity to the ocean was conducive to hours of walking and laying in a chaise on the deck reading. Although the unit could use a bit of updating that was reflected in the price. I liked being away from "the city" although we were close enough to wherever when we wised to wander.
If we ever return to Maui this is where I will stay. -

Camas, WashingtonBeautiful oceanfront condo
Left on 05/06/2011 for a stay in October 2010
Sugar Beach Resort #535 is the best of all the condos we have been to on Maui. It is oceanfront, and the view of the ocean is awsome due to its being a corner unit-with not only 2 slider doors to the lanai, but also a side window with more views of the ocean from that direction. The lanai is huge- twice the size of other condos we've stayed at.Beautiful sunsets, beautiful sandy beach for long walks. Also, it seemed so quiet and peaceful.
It is a large, comfortable condo with a well equiped kitchen. It has a very nice barbeque area and pool.
Allii resorts was very helpful to us when we had to reschedule our trip due to a death in our family-we were able to keep the same price as originally booked.
We hope to stay there again when we return. -

Love alii Resorts - always the best rental company to deal with. Love Sugar Beach Resort, have been coming for 20 years. Need a 2 BR when traveling w/3 people (which is most often to Maui), and alii only handles #535. Location is perfect, many things we like about the condo itself, but LR furniture is old and uncomfortable, drapes are a disgrace, DR chairs dirty, screens are hard to slide (know that's common in hi!), ceilings needs to be scraped and painted. Nothing but carpet has been done in years, so always somewhat disappointed to arrive and see it's still the same. For the price, really should have some work done to improve it. Have stayed in several 1BR units (when it's just 2 of us) that are kept up much better. We always leave it much cleaner when we leave than it is when we get there. The washer was filthy, and the fabric dispenser was totally caked with soap. Took quite awhile to clean it all up, and would have been totally obvious if it was even looked at. Drain in the second bathroom was clogged by the dryer lint and we cleaned it out. Bugs all in the door tracks (and yes, we have dealt w/the midges every year, but not always from before we even get there!). We do understand how fast the turnover needs to be, which is why we try to help by taking out all garbage, washing the sheets and towels, leaving it spotless except for remaking beds (sheets are folded so they know they're done) and scrubbing (?!) bathrooms, etc. Wish they hadn't put the carpeting on the lanai - much harder to sweep bugs, etc, and I'm quite sure the cleaning people don't! On the plus side (finally!), the master BR furniture is good, shower nice, kitchen very well equipped. Like the amount of lanai furniture, and don't think it will ever be upgraded, but ok with that. Would rather they do the Living Room!!! Wrote some of this in the alii review on the first day. Hope it helps!

We stayed in Unit 535 at Sugar Beach Resort. It has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathroom and is spacious. It has a nice balcony overlooking the ocean, close enough to throw a rock to the waters edge. The unit had all the appropriate amenities, the kitchen was well equipped. When the cable TV went out alii had it repaired early the next day. Alii represented the unit and resort accurately and we enjoyed our vacation there.

Seneca, SCSugar Beach suits us well

The condo is in major need of updating inside. However, we love the view, the beach access and being located where there are no other highrises.

Left on 09/02/2010 for a stay in February 2010
This condo is lovely! The view is breathtaking and the condo itself is very nicely decorated and confortable. The kitchen was very well equipped--maybe the best we have been in. We have stayed in several of the units in these Sugar Beach buildings, but this one is our favorite by far. Almost hate to say so, because we may not be able to get it so readily next time!
