  Maui Sunset was recommended to us by a friend back in late 2005, as was Kumulani as the property contact, and we did some additional checking around before our first reservation and stay in 2006. In the eight straight years that we have stayed at Maui Sunset, each time for a week or more, we have enjoyed six different upstairs units, including several two-bedroom and a couple of one-bedroom units. Overall, we have been very happy with the arrangements. The units are spacious and well maintained, and there are generally plenty of dishes, towels (including beach towels) and such. The walls are solid enough we hardly hear (or don't hear) the neighbors, and it's only a short drive to Safeway. Lanais have tables and chairs, ample for eating or just sitting out and watching the sunset with drinks and munchies at hand. In a couple of cases there were minor concerns...for example, last year when we mentioned that a dishdrainer would be helpful, Kumulani staff took care of that need within a day. Since these are lived-in units, there can be the occasional spot on a rug or other such minor nit to pick, but we've always felt comfortably at home there. In coming back year after year, we've made reservations several months in advance to be sure of getting a more desirable choice, as we prefer to be in a unit nearer the ocean; the Kumulani website is excellent for seeing what is available. Kumulani staff have always been helpful with questions about the units and with making of reservations. Our routine on arrival in Kahalui has been to pick up our rental car, get checked in at Maui Sunset, go over to Safeway to stock up on essential groceries, and then we're off to one or another of Kihei's several fine snorkeling beaches. It's real vacation! We expect to be back again next year.

  Very nice appointed apartment, fantastic views, outside lawns are a site to be seen :-)
  Everything we need was supplied in the apartment.
  Only thing i would suggest is that the main shops are quite a walk and ask for directions as safeways is a bit confusing to find the rest of the shops are along the main road about 2km.
  But we had a fantastic relaxing time there with many drives to see the sights, would highly recommend
