Beware the rental agents ! And their empty promises !
Left on 04/01/2013 for a stay in February 2013
The good: location. The bad: condition of the property. The ugly: you have to raise H@#$ to get your security deposit back.
So .. the location is pretty good. Convenient shopping, dining, beaches and activities are all within walking distance.
The condition of the property can only be rated as poor. For instance, there's an entry gate - which is supposed to have one or two remotes so that you don't have to park in the middle of the street, get out of your car, punch in the code and then drive up to the house. That didn't happen.
Rental agreement says there will be two keys in the lockbox ( we were a family of eight celebrating both an anniversary and a birthday). Severe warning in the rental agreement that if you locked yourself out or lost a key, you would be fined. Unfortunately there was only one key and no explanation. Live with it, I guess.
Nice interior and furniture was accomppanied by ancient appliances (the coffee pot and the microwave must have been ten years old, the blender was missing the top cap, the ice maker in the refirigerator did not work, the dryer ran for hours before anything would dry and the screens were damaged and for the most part inoperable). Okay, I know, you're on Maui so you live with these things because you have plans and fun and sunsets and all the things you came for ~ and are paying a thousand dollars a day for. Annoying , yep.
Don't count on getting in on time either. If there's a rental checking out the same day, you best plan for a dinner time arrival otherwise you'll be moving in with the cleaning crew.
And do not believe the advertising about repairs. We were told on move in that the property manager would have the ice maker repaired and working the day after our check in. Didn't happen in the seven days we were there. Foodland sells 20# bags of ice that fit nicely in the freezer section. Better go get one.
Now the $$$ issues. You know that you have to pay a deposit and then you have to pre-pay your entire stay 60 days prior to arrival. You are also told that your deposit would be returned within two weeks from your departure. Nope ! You have to make multiple calls. Here's my experience. Two weeks after our departure, I called the property manager about an iotem left behind.. She said she would contact the cleaners and let me know if it was there or not. Never heard from her. So a week and a half later not having recieved the deposit bak, I contacted the rental agent about the deposit. I was told she had "just received it" from the property manager ( funny, because I sent it to her company and not to the property manager's company) and would send it out "that week." This was on a Friday, so one would assume that meant the check would be mailed Friday or Saturday.
Now I know it's along way from Maui to Colorado, but here I sit ten days later - and no check has arrived. So . . I do what anyone would do. I call again. Leave messages for the rental agent and the property manager. And lo and behold on the fourth week from our departure I get a call back from the rental agent and I am told the check was mailed one day ago. "It slipped throught the cracks."
Not a good way to do business, in my opinion! And I told them so ! I suspect the check will get here in another two or three days, but if it doesn't, I'll be sure to update the loyal Ta review readers. -

To be on the ocean with a lovely green grass yard (played croquet) and have a pool in the back yard and a dining table for eight and four great bedrooms was a dream come true. Location was wonderful and the caretaker was extremely nice and helpful for any need that came up.

The accommodation is pricey but what isn't on Maui. The house has a great, central location in Kihei, within easy walking distance to Foodland yet completely set apart from the tourist traffic. It has the best possible view of the Hawaiian sunset that you will ever find.
The rooms are clean and the grounds are well kept.
If you are a traveller that can appreciate the overall ambience of a place and overlook some minor annoyances and flaws, this is a good place for you. If you sweat the small stuff and nitpick the details, you should look elsewhere.
There is a steep, rocky drop-off to the water. Parents need to keep a close on eye on young children. This is not a beach to play on.
Know the potential risks involved in renting beach houses on Maui. Not all rentals are licensed to operate as such.

This place was old but clean, except a lot of bugs and ants. I guess that is what you have to expect when you visit warm climate. Otherwise this place worked out great for our family. This place had everything we needed; dishwasher, washer and drier, cups, dishes, towels,...

We loved the home and Bello Realty was pleasant to work with. The location of the home is outstanding, within walking distance of town. It was everything I had hoped for when I rented it for a 70th birthday celebration. The Pacific Ocean in the backyard and pool in the front of the house which is gated. It has a feel of seclusion once you go through the gate. Coffee in the morning on the ocean side, breakfast on the Lanai in front with the pond and fountain. Delightful! Sunsets were beautiful! We had 7 people across 3 generations, 3 different family units and each were able to have their own bedrooms as well as bathrooms.
Home is in good shape and very clean. If there is anything that needs to be repaired it is those darn vertical blinds. They are old and replacement would be a good idea. Many slats lay under beds in each room. If you are using all bedrooms and wish to keep sun out or have privacy it is not posible. They are in bad need of replacement in two of the rooms.
I think it would be difficult for me to consider a condo or hotel in the future when visiting Maui again. It was so nice to be in a home. I would highly recommend it. -

Four couples relaxed and enjoyed 12 nights at the home, centrally located on the beach in a quiet neighborhood. It is an updated home with a great design. Each bedroom is on a corner of the house and they are reasonably private. But, one of the three bathrooms is shared and the open windows limit privacy. The eight of us enjoyed dining together to the setting sun - either indoors or outdoors. There are nice gardens, multiple large and small palm trees, and a private pool. Trade winds and inside fans cooled the house from the ocean side where air conditioning wasn't necessary. An excellent air conditioner is available for the master bedroom. We only used it one night. The ocean, about 80 feet from the lanai, has a 10' drop on a lava rock seawall. The beach below is sandy and exposed at low tide, but murky shallow water with coral rock makes the area a poor choice for swimming. A long sandy beach about two blocks north and Charley Young beach (one mile south) are the closest sandy beaches. The Wailea area beaches are only 10 minutes away by car and the Kamoele beaches are 5 minutes by car. We took a two-person kayak out from a nearby sandy beach and paddled out in calm morning hours in groups of two. After paddling southwest a few hundred yards we could look down to see beautiful coral reefs and as many as 50 sea turtles near Kalama Park - without the tourist crowds. In the late afternoon, sea turtles often swam by the house. In the afternoon or evening, trade winds were strong. The pool is about 3' to 6' deep and it is very pleasant and private after a day at the beach. Some beach equipment was provided including six boogie boards, floats, balls, two swim boards, and two beach chairs. Beach towels and bath towels were available in abundance. Two remote controls for the main gate were available - although the battery on one failed. The gate can also be opened with a touch-pad controller from the outside. The kitchen is well equipped and we had no problems with appliances. We used a propane BBQ pit several times and there is a nice pond and waterfall near the front door. The initial supply of toiletries lasted just a few days and after that we were expected to resupply as needed. A few inside and outside doors had minor problems, but were managed. With the two extra hammocks we brought, the hammock provided, a bench seat, or with towels on the grass, we were able to comfortably view nine incredible sunsets all the way to the ocean between West Maui and Lana'i as the palm trees swayed and the cool island breezes blew. Several times we walked to the markets and restaurants just two blocks southeast in Kihei. What an incredible place to enjoy our vacation. It was appropriately named "Seaside Tranquility House".

Overall we had a very nice stay at Seaside Tranquility in Kihei.
The house layout was great for a family of eight, the view was spectacular, kitchen was ideal for cooking large meals, House location was convenient to the grocery store and shopping malls. As a negative comment, some of the vertical blinds and window screens need repair. -

This very spacious home is in a great location on the ocean with lovely views and a wonderful yard. We enjoyed eating and hanging out on the lanai, sitting in the hammock, and watching the whales and the sunsets. Easy entry into the water right there for kayaking and boarding. There is a good-sized pool, which was nice for both adults and kids. The house is in a quiet neighborhood and close to grocery stores. There is plenty of room for sleeping, and a pack-and-play was provided for the 1 yr old in the family. We were very happy to find a well-equipped kitchen (including good knives!) as we enjoy doing a lot of cooking. The bedrooms and bathrooms were quite nice, and provided plenty of privacy.
Regrettably, and despite the fact that the house has had substantial remodeling and presents well, it is literally falling apart and not being maintained. Our greatest disappointment was a leak in the refrigerator that kept the tile floor wet and Very Dangerous. We reported the problem to the property managers our first day, but no one came to fix it. There were broken slat windows, and it took two people and several minutes to lock each door when we were leaving the house due to old and malfunctioning locks. The safe was broken, so not usable. My husband spent several hours trying to fix the very large lanai screens, because they kept falling off! None of the screen doors worked well. Some of the bedroom blinds also malfunctioned and the slats would fall off. And, the dryer did not work well at all. It took nearly two hours to dry a load of towels! (Fire hazard?) The list of 'broken and falling apart' goes on... It's really a shame that the owners are not maintaining the property, because it is really in a fabulous location.

Great location if you want to be a little out of the way from the tourist areas. Very comfortable even wtih 6 adults & 2 kids, Awesome views/sunsets, lots of whale sightings, the beach in front of home is not too sandy but we knew that going in, with so many beaches near by it wasn't an issue at all. If I have to point out any cons, it would be the basic house supplies..with a house full of people, there was limited toilet paper, paper towel and garbage bags and laundry soap...had to go to store for some basic supplies. Overall we loved it and had a wonderful trip.

We have rented from Bello 5 times now in the past 8 years in different residences and have always enjoyed our experiences and have no reservations of using them again in the future. Pam has always made sure that if something was not right it was corrected immediately, and how she helped us through our delayed arrival due to airport closures was first class all the way.
The thing we like best about the property is that there is absolutely no better place on the island to watch the sunset at night than on the hammock in the back yard. My family made it a point to be back at the house to enjoy each and every one of them during out stay.
The house is an older home and expectations are better if kept in check, this is not an estate home rather a comfy lived-in older residence. Beach access from the back yard is limited and not really suited for kids, but a sandy beach is a short walk away. My kids absolutely loved the pool and used it each and every day of our stay and look forward to going again.
We were happy to have the long drive entrance with the gate, it made letting the kids out to play a whole lot safer because they could just go off in the yard without worry of getting to the street.
Overall I was very satisfied with my stay and would certainly use their services again. Sharing the residence with another couple made the cost a bit easier for a regular Joe like me and the four bedrooms gave us a lot of space. And once again, thanks for everything Pam!!!
