Room #610 at the Royal Mauian was well stocked, clean, and comfortable. The amenities such as towels and appliances are all of high quality. The Royal Mauian itself is well maintained, conveniently located with ample free parking. A bonus is the rooftop garden where you get 360 degree views of south Maui while you dine on the food you just cooked up on the gas grill up there. What makes the Royal Mauian stand out is how close to the beach it is. I counted 30 steps from the elevator to the sand on Kam 1. I can't imagine better views than the view you get from room #610. There is literally no obstruction between your balcony and sheer paradise. I highly recommend staying here during whale season. You can watch them breaching right from your patio in room 610. My only complaint was check-in was a tad confusing since we arrived late. But we figured it out. There was another couple a few days later who arrived late that were also confused that we helped out. Check out was a breeze though. I'm used to having to clean when renting a condo but all they wanted was for us to double check we had all our possession. (I cleaned any way) I would most certainly stay here again and would recommend it to others just as it was recommended to me. Read more

My wife and I stayed at this unit for 10 days earlier in December. This condo is located in a very clean and well maintained building in a perfect location in Kehei. It is situated directly between two of the best beaches in Maui. The unit itself is perfect and has a gorgeous view of the ocean.
There are restaurants and shops right across the street which is convenient. We found the snorkeling to be very good right in front of the building and swam daily with 3-4 giant sea turtles along with a variety of other fish (go early).
All in all we had a great time in Maui and this condo was a great place to come home to and watch the beautiful sunsets.

We are just finishing an unbelievable stay. Top floor (6th) which means nobody is peering into your room. We saw sea turtles from our balcony multiple times each day, everyday. Nice sized pool - no slides, but clean and never crowded (3 ft - 7 ft deep). The door to the room has a code to get in, which means you don't have to bring a key with you on your excursions (except to the pool, which requires your room key). So many food choices right across the street: Thai, Tex-mex, seafood, sushi, Hawaiian, coffee, cinnamon rolls, sports bar, local hangouts, etc... The major resorts in Makena are a 5 minute drive south if you wish to step-up your dining experience, but the food right here has been excellent. Grocery store, organic grocery store, beer & liquor - all right across the street. The kitchen has plenty of pots, pans, dishes, bowls, silverware, glassware. Automatic ice machine and blender. Roof top deck is fantastic and has 4 large, clean grills to use. The breezes (25 mph!) every afternoon are just amazing. The bedroom facing the ocean will hear crashing waves all night, and the 5am sprinkler system (not too bad, this is the 6th floor), and the bedroom facing the street will hear tons of birds at about the same time. The Royal Mauian is nestled right between two of the most beautiful (and uncrowded) beaches I've ever experienced. Snorkel right here - lots of coral, fish and turtles. The sand is almost as soft as baby powder. There are spots of natural shade on the beach, too. When we come back to Maui, this is our spot.

Location. Location. Location.
Kihea is convenient to everything and this unit is in the heart of it all. Just steps to the beach, pool, or roof top deck, this complex is fantastic. Warning...if you don't like to hear the waves lapping against the shore as you fall asleep then this unit is not for you! You are almost literally on the water...you that that close. It's great for spotting turtles from your room or enjoying a classic Maui sunset from the balcony. I will be going back.

Found this unit on Vacation Rentals by Owner and fell in love with the photos and descriptions. The condo was on the top floor and had a neighbor on only one side. It was very peaceful and the ocean breeze ran right through it: glorious! Everything we needed to enjoy our stay was provided (beach chairs, towels, etc) and it was clean and nicely furnished. We viewed the sunsets from our lanai and spotted sea turtles in the surf below us. The beach, "Kam" #1, was right next door, or you could sit on the lush green lawn or go in the pool. What a wonderful place to stay. We will return to this unit in the future.

Somewhat dated with less than spotless cleaning. Fan in second bedroom was not initially working but was fixed promptly. Appreciated the call from staff to make sure all was well. Would recommend for the view and the location.

Easy, easy to book the reservation; so friendly and informative! Check-in was beyond easy, and the lady who checked us in was so friendly, and so eager to make the stay confortable. Who wouldn't love the location? Right on the water, 2 beaches on either side just a few steps away. The unit was clean, stocked with everything we needed, and quite lovely. The only problem was the second bedroom. It was hot and stuffy the whole time. My son ended up sleeping on the couch every night. I thought I got a really good deal, but the unit ended up a bit pricey. Ultimately, it was worth the money. Thanks so much for hosting us!
