We enjoyed our stay at kylee's kaper in July 2014. We enjoyed the view and the deck was spacious. The unit was clean, but being that it is an older complex, the bathroom (especially the master) could use some renovations... and the comments about the master shower being small are accurate. We had no problem with the stove/oven, or tv/cable. Could use some bread pans or cookie sheets and a few other things for the kitchen. but we got by. I do want to say we went there not knowing if there were grills ... nowhere stated that. There are 2 grills in the grilling area outside the complex, so if anyone is wondering about that like we were, then you know. we would stay there again.

I'm sorry to post a review like this, but since I was asked to provide a review, I can't let other unsuspecting vacationers spend money on this unit without knowing what it was like inside. The best words are aged and dirty. The temp control on the refrigerator was broken, 2 burners on the stove were lop-sided, the kitchen cookware, utensils, etc. were sparse and worn out, the floors, carpets and upholstered furniture were filthy, there weren't enough drawers in the master bedroom to accommodate the clothing of 2 people for the week (so we lived out of our bags), the furnishings and decor are very dated and aged, etc. When we arrived there was sand and hair in the master bath shower. The broom sat in the corner of the kitchen with cobwebs on it. You have to navigate 2 gates around the pool with beach gear in order to access the beach. The best part of the unit was the balcony with a beautiful view and the proximity to the beach. However, because of the filth of the unit we will not be renting this unit again. As I stated to the rental agency, I understand a unit being small and on the lower end of the rent scale, however I do expect cleanliness and comfort when I spend my money. Read more

Great location. Even though we were one of the "side" units, we still had a beautiful view of the ocean. The place was clean; perfect size for a family of 5 (two full baths!). My only complaint for our particular unit was the oven. It took at least an hour to warm up even when set at 500 degrees to try to speed up the process. Food took 2x as long to bake. I shouldn't be cooking when on vacation anyway! I will definitely stay at Kylee's Kaper again. Read more

It's great to hear that you and your family enjoyed your stay at Kylee's Kaper. In looking at our maintenance system, I did not see a work order about the oven, so we will certainly look into it. Thanks for letting us know. We look forward to seeing you again.

We chose this property based on it's location (ocean front). It was ok...the rooms were typical condo rooms, kinds of small but adequate for my husband and myself. The shower unit in the master bedroom was extremely small and the tub/shower unit was a little small as well so if you are very tall or large this may be a challenge for you. Also, there is no ramp or elevator at this property so not very friendly for you if you have any physical challegengs with stairs. We did love the location and how easy the beach access was. There were several ammenities available however the cable and televisions were only moderately functional in the unit. Read more

Prior to signing a rental agreement, I contacted the Nags Head location of Resort Realty to inquire as to the "oceanfront" view advertised on your site. Looking at the online pictures it appeared to me to be a side oceanfront view and I wanted dead on front oceanview. I was told by a representative that it was in fact a front on ocean view not a side view. Well, it was a side unit with an obstructed side view of the ocean. The rental property in my opinion was not clean. The master bedroom walls had dust balls on them. All the lamp shades in the unit had built up dust on them, down to the baseboards with built up dust on them. The bed in the master bedroom was very uncomfortable and of poor quality with broken springs. The bed pillows in the master bedroom had stains on them to the point that I refused to use them and went and bought $4 pillows at K-Mart. I have to say, I think the couch in the living room was the worst. I refused to sit on it the two weeks I occupied the unit. The couch was white, or at one time white. It now is grey and loaded with stains, down to dried blood stains on the pillows. Really, there is no excuse for this. This unit either is not cleaned on a regular basis or you need to find a new cleaning company. The furniture and appliances are all outdated. In my opinion, this unit needs a remodel. I am not a "picky" person but when I plan all year and spend hard earned money on a vacation, I want comfort and cleanliness. In the last 8 years I have been coming to the OBX, this has to be the worst place I have rented.

Thank you for taking time to review this property. We apologize that it was not as you expected and that the view was not clearly communicated. Since your stay we have updated the property description to say "2nd floor corner wing unit of Sea Oats complex". We strive to provide a clean property for our guests’ enjoyment, and it appears we did not meet that goal. We do hope you are aware that we are happy to come back out to a property to rectify cleaning issues during your stay, if needed. We have notified the housekeeping department in the meantime as your input is important to us. We have also shared your comments about updating the property with the owner. We hope you give Resort Realty another chance to serve you in the future.

We loved being so close to the ocean. A few steps to the pool, then the ocean, and no dragging coolers, chairs, etc. I loved seeing the sunrise from the deck. This place was sunny in the am, but shady in the pm. I took a few afternoon naps on the deck. It said "smoking allowed", and initially I thought it would smell like cigarettes. There was no odor at all. :) It could have been a little cleaner, and my teenage daughter said that the twin beds were not as comfortable. Otherwise it was good. Even though there is a big club beside it, I felt there was more privacy than the condos that faced the pool. I'd like to come back. Hope Hurricane Irene doesn,t take it away. :(

I loved the porch breeze. There wa no working outlets in the either bathroom. I feel that the price for the ocean "view" is to high. I spoke with several other residents that had ocean "front" and the cost was the same and one slightly less. The price is the main problem, with the economy and the down turn in economics the owner needs to reconsider the price. Price is probably the reason I would not recommend this to a friend. I may shop around next year.

Right ont he beach so that was great, perfect facility. room was big enough for 4, furniture and decor dated, but clean. For the price it seems fair considering on the beach in Kill Devil.
