We love the house for our two boys of 7 and 2. They enjoy night fishing and the distance to the beach is 5 min walk. The house have beach supplies in the storage room but some of the stuff was broken but it was fine because we brought our own stuff. I love the fact that they have a washer and dryer and wifi. I would rent this house again but the kids would love to have a private pool on the property.

Very good accommodations and location for the price. Very clean and looks to be recently renovated. A little trouble figuring out remote control ceiling fans. Some light bulbs were out but maintenance person was quick to replace. Would definitely rent again.

Good location, central to Kill Devil Hills. Great service from Seaside Vacations. The property itself was very basic and not worth the price. We have stayed at much nicer properties for lesser price.
Most of the things that bothered us were small so we didn't complain about them but they all add up to a rather grubby experience. There were no instructions on how to use anything. There were stickers on the light switches on how to turn lights /fans on/off, but it took a phone call to SV to figure out where the washer/dryer was and the key. The wifi never really worked - SV did try to help with this to be fair but we didn't want to spend our valuable vacation time trouble shooting technical issues. Overall the house was rather dirty - the vacuum cleaner was full to overflowing with dirt /sand so we didn't use it. Lots of flies inside the house. Dusty. Ripped, dirty and moldy shower curtain. Parts of the floor were not nailed down properly. One of the beds kept coming off its base - cut our son's foot badly when he got up in the night.
The washer and dryer were ancient and stored down under the house in an unfinished room - very dirty. Had to walk down steps outside and go under house to use them.
Both bathrooms were small, old and dirty - neither were en-suite for the master bedroom. Only one was on same floor as all bedrooms. Not convenient for several people sharing. Beds were uncomfortable - bed covers were old, scratchy and had stains on them. Towels provided were poor quality and too small. The fridge was dirty - blue cheese in the drawer. The blender didn't work - no frozen margaritas! So nothing major - just lots of little details which we haven't experienced with other rentals. They should review the price point - a lot of people don't mind very basic so long as it's cheap. If you're looking for a very basic place to stay that is dog friendly this is the rental for you. If you are looking for clean and modern you might want to keep looking.Response from Seaside Vacations* - 08/13/2012

In a lot of the homes you will find washers and dryers in a room under the homes. This makes more room within the home.

Overall I feel this is a great rental property and priced right. Location is just a few minute walk to the beach. There is some maintenance work that needs done such as securing the dishwasher but nothing was major enough to impact my vacation.

Comfortable home but looked like some repairs inside were ongoing/needed and we were not informed prior to arrival. Could not find any info re: recycling and feel that should be added (with appropriate bins, etc.).

Upon entering the home for the first time there was a strong smell of cat urine at the top of the stores on the main living floor. I immediately called the office to report the problem. I spoke to a rep with the rental company and was left with no choice but to stay in the house with the very dirty carpet/smell the entire week. The rental company offered to have someone come clean the carpet the next day but that would have only created more smell and wet carpets that me and my family would have to deal with. I asked to be moved to another home or to have my money refunded and was told that neither were an option. Having waited a year for this vacation and not wanting to just throw away my hard-earned money, my and family and I stayed and endured the smell and distgusting carpet throughout the house. We had to buy lots of candles, air fresheners, etc. to mask the bad smell. I am disspointed with the the inflexibility of the rental company to give other accommodations or a refund.

The house was wonderful to stay in. Very confortable and convenient.
I know that the house needs some repairs though. There is a leak under the kitchen sink. Also has caused a big leak coming down to the master bedroom which needs fixing. There is numerouse stains on the carpetin the living room. Hope you fix this house would love to come back. The fishing was great. This was the first time that we have been to the Outer Banks. The house was just a block away from the beach. It was very roomy and provided my family a wonderful opportunity to spend quality time together. The house was very clean and was well furnished.
The only problem was that my husband has some medical problems and at times had difficulty manuvering all of the stairs. -
