This house is beautiful, and perfectly located on the beach road, near all the sights and restaurants and directly across from the beach access. It is a very nicely appointed house. There was a little wear and tear, but its a beach rentla you'll have that. There are more than enough very nice bathrooms. The King sized beds were so comfy!!! The twins and the bunk beds are suited more for children - short and not as nice, but just know that going into it! The table seats 8 with two extra seats at the kitchen bar. There are resonalby nice lounge chairs outside. The pool was wonderul - probably gets 5 foot deep? The hot tub was very nice also. The only complaint was no wifi. That can be a blessing, but we needed it for school work. Word to the wise, you can get lots for free around kill devil hills. The views are stunning and you can't beat the quick access to both the beach (second only behind oceanfront, and who has the money for that!) and access to delicious places like Duck Donuts, The Red Drum, Captain George's and Ritas. I love this house and hope we come back next year!

When we arrived our "home away from home" was ready as is the usual with Seaside Vacations. The location of this home is spectacular, you are right in the middle of the Outer Banks. There is a beach access directly across the home, that I felt comfortable walking my dog at 6:30 am as well as 10:00 PM. The kitchen was well stocked and the pool and hottub were just amazing. There were only 2 things I would change. The Tv's in the bedrooms are ridiculously small, I mean tiny. You cannot see the TV from the beds. And I would exchange to 2 love seats in the family room upstairs with 2 regular size couches. It was kind of hard to congregate in the upstairs, family room because of the lack of couch space.

This home is perfectly located, right across from the beach. Great pool, beautiful decor, very comfortable. It feel like home away from home. Beds are very comfortable. Centrally located to restaurants, shops and beach. We will be renting this house again!!

Our stay at two pies south was great despite the weather and the smoke detector malfunctions that woke us up two nights in a row. The house and the location was great except for a few things. I think it may be time for some updating with the furnishings of the house for one the tv's are terrible to say the least and the same with the living room furniture it's kind of hard for everyone to watch tv in the same room with a couch that seats a total of 4 people and I think it may be time for new mattresses in some of the rooms as they are very springy and uncomfortable other then that our stay was great and we look forward to future stays in the obx we just think it may be time to look for a new up to date place to stay at

We have rented in the Outer Banks for 25+ years.
First off, the location was great!Second best to Ocean Front! Pool was nice, loved the beach cart-huge help. Loved layout for our group. Now, the negative. The carpets were really dirty, the furinture was starting to look rough.For a house that sleeps "11", should have a table that seats more than 8. The table can be bigger and the chairs smaller and easier to use. Too bulky for that house and hard to move on the carpet.!The kitchen was poorly equipped. Not enough tableware, cooking utensils, containers. We were very suprised to see how small the Tv's were in the bedrooms. Can't they be bigger and up on the walls- like most? Now the biggset compliant-the bunk bed mattresses were awful, really bad. I thought my kids were being dramatic until we sat on them. Need to be changed. The master bedrooms has king size beds but the bottom sheet slipped off every night-not a fit at all. I blame the linen rental Co. for that that one. These complaints seem petty, but was annoying to deal with every day.
While all in all 'Two Pie South' location can't be beat, it just needs an owner to look it over and do a few repairs,upgrades and attention.Response from Seaside Vacations* - 08/19/2012

My family has came to the outer banks for over 20 years now and love it there. We really did like the house in general. It had many great things for entertainment. Games, movies, foosball, nice stereo etc. the layout was truely great. The pool was very nice. Beach access was good to. Right next to a lifeguard stand.
But there were lots of things that were wrong. All had to do with house keeping and some maintenance. We had to call about the trash left laying all around. The cleaner came out she was more interested in showing us how to use the vacum than doing what she was suppose to. Plus the stuff she did pick up (bottle caps etc) she didn't throw away she just set it on the nearby tables, Yyuucckk!
But there were still bottle caps and stuff everywhere- under the couch in the cushions and around the furniture. There was combs, lip balm, 6 hour energy bottles there too. It was just everywhere. Under the dining room table I found a huge hairball (blondish)the size of 2 golf balls just laying there in the open. The top floor bed had aquafina water bottles under it. I left them there. I bet they are still there too! Go look.
The sinks were clogged. The blender threw off sparks and smoke the 1st time we tried to use it. We left a note on it. The game room had a chair with the cusion stoved in/broken on one side so you had to put a pillow there so as not to fall thru. The carpet needs a good cleaning as well.
If not for these things we would have enjoyed it completely. If it were 1 or 2 bottle caps or just one or two things it would really be no big deal but there were so many issues it really took away from the enjoyment.
The office staff was very polite and prompt to our requests for repairs on the sinks and the drawers and as I said the layout is superb and the appointments are wonderful. But you guys really need to redo your cleaning service because they are not earning their money. I know people who would have freaked out and refused to stay there. -

The house was well appointed for all of our cooking and sleeping needs. Very spacious - with 6 adults and 5 kids we never felt cramped. The decorating is enough to feel like home and still be efficient. The private pool and hottub were the highlight of the home. The beach access is directly across the street and a grocery is 1 block away.
However, the furniture needs updated in the main living area. The bar stools are cracked and very unstable. The winged chairs have many stains. The dining chairs were referred to as "monuments" by the end of the trip, their weight on the carpet makes it hard to maneuver. The closet with all of the beach items was not discovered until the end of the trip - more information would be helpful.
For people flying in - bring dish soap, toilet paper, paper towels and beach towels. Things we did not think we would need to pack. -

We have been to Two Pies twice now and have had wonderful stays both times. It is close to the beach, has a great pool and hot tub, over all it is a very nice place. The beds are great! but much of the other furniture is worn, there is a chair on the first level that has been broken both visits. The TVs are fine but are old, no Internet connectivity and no cable on the first floor are real draw backs. The kitchen is nice, and well stocked we love to cook so we ate in the whole week. The fire place is lovely but would be even lovelier if it worked. The pool and hot tub were huge hits both years, and the ability to bring the dog is what sealed the deal.

our stay was great with the exception of hurricane irene which forced us to leave 2 days early we had a great time and the weather was beautiful and the location was great, right across the street from the beach. having a pool and hot tub at the house was great. The only thing i would like to see different is better living room furniture and bigger tvs

We had a wonderful week at Two Pies South. We were able to watch the sunrise from our front deck and sunset over the Wright monument from the back deck. The beach was beautiful and just a short walk away. When not at the beach we enjoyed the pool and hot tub and had some great volleyball action on the sand court. Our only complaint for the week were the cactus burrs on the v-ball court. Ouch! Seaside's service was first rate. We needed extra towels upon arrival and had them delivered within 30 minutes. The pool was clean and serviced again midweek. Two Pies location is perfect as we could walk to the Wright Monument, bike to the grocery store and had a five minute drive to all the destinations in Kill Devil Hills. We will be back.

This was our third summer vacation at "Two Pies". As usual, we enjoyed every minute. Everything is easy to get to from the house. The house is set perfectly - not beachfront, but a perfect view of the ocean. One thing that I mind add is that we think it might be time for new mattressed and furniture. Things are starting to wear. Our bed in the bedroom on the top floor was like a marshmellow. We still love it there and will probably see "Two Pies" again in 2012. Thanks for a great vacation.

We were disappointed that some very unpleasant bathroom trash was left for us on check-in. Furniture and carpeting are worn and dirty. There was a broken patio door lock and several lights were burned out around the pool and decks. The outdoor shower head is cracked and unusable. Two screens were broken on the porch, but you did address that. We would strongly recommend a blackout shade on the top floor master bedroom half-moon window - the strong morning sun woke us very early, which is not what you want on vacation! We also recommend the mattresses be updated - not comfortable at all. The best feature of this home was its proximity to the beach. We visited another property directly across the street and it's a "wow" compared to the one we stayed in.

We were amazed by the service and caring at Seaside! This vacation was to have been a family reunion for us, and unfortunately we had a death in the family the day we were to check in. Deciding that we needed some solitude, we called to say that we still wanted to come for our final two days of vacation. Melinda at the Nags Head office was extremely caring and helpful, and emailed several times with directions and information to make our check-in smooth ( we arrived after hours). At check out, she recognized us from the house number, and gave us additional information about how to make a claim for insurance...we we just blown away by her thoughtful, caring attitude!
The house itself is very clean. This is a pet-friendly house, and there were a few stains on the carpet and the furniture on the top floor has seen some love, but it was sparkling clean! The bathrooms and kitchen area look brand new, and the beds were extremely comfortable; the linens and towels were crisp and fresh. The pool and pool area were also immaculate.
Location could not be better; although Two Pies South is not beach front, there is still a good view of the ocean from the top deck, and it is literally steps from the ocean. Public beach access is right across the street. We loved the fact that "dog duty" bags were available right at the beach access; we had forgotten to bring any. Please be aware, though, that Hwy 12 is a very busy street...we were surprised at the traffic in late September. It would be important that dogs are leashed and small children in hand before opening the door because the street is right there.
Two Pies South is a prime location for getting to activities and sight-seeing. We loved the direct view of the Wright Bros. Memorial that we had from the front deck.

We enjoyed our stay and found the house comfortable and well equipted. The only thing we would suggest would be to upgrade the TV and the vollyball net was all torn up.

My family and I stayed at Two Pies South once again because we love the house overall and its location. We look for houses that are pet friendly and have a hot tub and with Two Pies South we had the bonus of having a pool too. We enjoy the lay out of the house, the kitchen is fully equipped and fenced pool area allowed our pets to share time with us outside without the worry of them exploring other parts of OBX without us. This house is perfect for one or two families to share a wonderful and relaxing time in the Outer Banks. Enjoy your stay at Two Pies South...we did and we will be back!

We had a great stay at Two Pies South in September. Having paid an additional fee for my dog I was not very happy to see stains on the carpet that looked like they had been left after previous dogs had stayed there. There were also stains on the cushions on the sofas and on the bed covers. The house itself was very well situated and nicely decorated in light and bright colors. Everything was included that you would need (although I did take most of my own things from home). I loved that there were fans in every room and plenty of TV's etc. Although we didn't use the pool or hot tub it was nice having it there. I think whoever uses the house after it has been completely cleaned (carpets and soft furnishings included)will be very lucky and I would definitely consider staying there again (but this time I would take throws and my own bedding!)

The pool in the vacation book is not the pool at the house.The pool at the house is much smaller.We had a couple maintenance issues during our stay.Is very close to the beach access.House was not as clean as the last place we stayed at. The volleyball court was a joke.The net was a torn and tangled mess bearly hanging to the posts.

Rental Service Company was good. Location was very central to most things. close to ocean!
Negatives - Street Noise (example - garbage pickup was around 6 AM) and Cars. Very Noisy.
While it says, sleeps 11, that is based on having little kids that want a bunkbed or trundle. The single beds, bunkbed combo/trundle were not comfortable at all.
Next time we would probable be further off the road and review the bed situation better before renting. -

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Two Pies South. We liked the way the rooms were situated and found the rooms to be spacious and well planned. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. We loved the fact that there was deck on the front of the house. The house was situated with easy access to the beach across the street. The pool was great for our 4 year old grand-daughter with the three steps leading into the water. We would definately consider renting this property again next year. We've been coming to the Outer Banks for about 12 years now and this was definately the best rental yet.
There is one issue that still bothers me when renting these properties. It is the cleanliness of the unit. I realize that a thorough top job cleaning cannot be obtained in the short time they have between renters. However, I have always, and will continue the kitchen and bathrooms be clean. The first day we arrived at this property one of us spilled some juice on the kitchen floor. We decided to wash the floor to pick up everything. This was the kitchen floor, the day we arrived, and THE WATER FROM THE FLOOR WAS BLACK. The kitchen is usually one of the smaller rooms in these houses and I still don't understand why, each year, they are not washed efficiently.
We were also wondering if there is some way we could make an appt. to check in upon arrival. It's truly like being a homeless person for the first 4 hours we arrive.
As I mentioned earlier, we loved the property - just not the floors. -

Everything was fabulous!!! The house was lovely. The location was perfect! Furnishings were great. Lots of room. Immaculate! The only thing that would have made the stay better would be that some basic, staple items (such as paper towels, toilet paper and dishwashing liquid) be made available. Otherwise, just fantastic!

The house helped make this our best vacation ever in Kill Devil Hills (we have been coming for over 10 years, but this was the first time in Two Pies South). The weather was rough the first three days but the house layout made having fun indoors a breeze for the family. The owners have gone all out to make this a nice place to spend time and the views are fantastic. The location is perfect for beach access and the Wright Brothers Memorial is within walking distance if you did not want to drive. I have already reserved the house for our next vacation so that should say it all.

This home is in a great location, right across the street from the beach and beach access. The interior is nicely decorated and well kept. My family enjoyed our stay. Our only complaint is that there were fruit flies all over the kitchen when we got there and even though we made an attempt to keep all food closed up, the flies remained for the whole stay.

We very much enjoyed staying at this home. It was very well equipped with numerous items not listed in the description, including a coffee grinder, beach chairs, pool toys, bicycles, board games (with all the pieces) and a kite. The description also failed to make mention of the vaulted cieling in the master bedroom and ocean views from the windows there. Being so close to the ocean was also a great convenience. Overall, the home had a very comfortable and inviting feel! Highly recommended!!!
