Pasadena, Md.Bad elevator, great home and view
Left on 04/11/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We loved our week at Dolphins Watch. Everything was wonderful as usual, nice, clean, had all of the amenities that we needed, close to everything etc. but for the 2nd time since we've been coming there... the elevator got stuck. This time it was worse than befor, this time all of our belongings were in the elevator when it went down about 6" and stopped and the doors would not open. We had to wait for a maintenance man to come and get it open, and even then it would not move. What if someone had been in there? What if no one was around and a person was stuck for hours? Very scary to think about. Not so sure about renting here again.

Left on 04/10/2013 for a stay in March 2013
Dolphin's Watch provided everything we needed in a family vacation. The views from the dining area and decks were outstanding. The elevator was certainly welcome especially for my grand-daughter who is disabled! The beach was fantastic as we found hundreds of beautiful shells. Having rented a number of vacation rentals let me say that the folks at Seaside Vacations are top-notch!!!

Very Nice Oceanfront Beach House with a great Ocean View from the Kithen/Dining Room! It was perfect for our stay during the New Year Holiday! The Elevator was an added bonus in unloading and loading our luggage to the upper levels. Wireless Internet was also a necessity!
Some other notes...It is directly across from a restaurant, and it did get loud at night!
Unfortunately, we were unable to use the Hot Tub due to a mechanical difficulty that was not resolved during our stay:(
Overall, perfect vacation home and it served our needs for our week stay in the OBX!

Dolphin's Watch, is a beautiful ocean front home, in an ideal location.
Close to everything, shopping, dining, and just relaxing. We like to bring our dogs with us and this is perfect place for them, especially in the off season. We have always found the Outer Banks to be a magical place to vacation, and this time even more so. We were so excited when we arrived at the house and instantly felt at home. Thanks again for a wonderful stay. -

Baltimore MDHome again!!!
Left on 10/28/2012 for a stay in October 2012
I have rented Dolphins Watch 10 times and consider the two weeks in October that I spend there the high point of my year. Dw is a magical place where people instantly relax and feel at home when they walk in the door. The ocean front location is ideal for whatever your favorite "beach" activity happens to be. Mine is getting up early and helping the sun come up and taking pictures of its progress. Later in the day, there are all sorts of interesting things to watch--including dolphins coming in very close. My favorite features are the ocean front hot tub and the glass dining room. The house is exceedingly dog friendly with a rear that exits directly on the dunes. The physical location is convenient to any destination if you feel like roaming around the Outer Banks. There are several amenities that I frankly don't use --a full size lower level clubroom with a Foosball table and 2 big screen TVs and an outdoor shower. An elevator facilitates movement among the 3 levels--especially handy for arrival and departure and shopping unloading.
In addition to DW being a really great house, the management folks at Seaside are very responsive and helpful.

Our experience with Seaside Vacations has been good. The home we rent from Seaside Vacations currently meets our needs. We like the home very much and the location is perfect for where we like to stay while in the OBX. We can walk to certain stores, restaurants and bike to nice areas. Seaside Vacation offers nice amenities, many that other realtors do not offer. The only negative is the cleaning. The house, overall, should be cleaner.

Pasadena, Maryland, United StatesWhat a wonderful beach house!
Left on 04/02/2012 for a stay in March 2012
We loved this place! It was Pet Friendly which is a must for us. The house was very nice, 3 stories tall... bottom level had a game room w/kitchenette, 2 Tv's and a bathroom. 2nd level had 3 bedrooms, 2 baths & washer/dryer. 3rd level had 1 bedroom, 1 bath, full kitchen, living room & dining room w/windows surrounding it and a nice deck also. The elevator made bringing everything in a breeze, it would be perfect for the elderly, people in wheel chairs or people like us that just wanted to relax and not carry loads up 3 flights of stairs. We like to go on the off seasons because there is less people, better weather and an empty beach. We noticed that there were hardly any Sandspurs in the Spring, a huge deal for us because of our dog gets them stuck to his feet & fur (then I get them stuck in my hands trying to pull them off of him, very painful!)... for this reason, we will no longer go in the Fall and will make all our vacation stays for the Springtime. The only cons to this place would be the awful non-working vacuum cleaners, no door mats (can't wipe the sand off your feet properly w/out door mats), no hair dryers in the house and no wine bottle opener either. Otherwise everything else was just perfect :-) And if you want a great place to eat, try Mulligans, just south of Jockey's Ridge. We loved sitting upstairs at the bar where we consistently received great service and watching the tv's while eating tasty meals and drinking a few good beers. They had the best Oyster Stew that I've ever had!

Left on 01/11/2012 for a stay in January 2012
This house was as advertised very comforatable and great for 6 people, would be great for 8 as well. The house was clean and ready to go. Check in was a breeze and the staff friendly and helpful. We saw lots of Dolphins, about three times a day. The one knock is a block to the south there are some ugly Motels on the beach, but other than that it was a great rental. Hot tub was in good working order. The elevator was a nice touch, and it was pet friendly. I would aboslutely use Seaside again.

What an amazing vacation...A hard year with a good ending.. We had a beautiful vacay, the elevator was so helpful with elders and all the bags from shopping.. The view was breathtaking, the hot tub amazing..jolly roger across the street was perfect and lots of fun... Honestly the only thing I would change is the yellow paint in master room..and a hair dryer... Other than that, and that is so silly..but yet my opinion.. the home was great and we will rent again.. Thank you!!!

I first rented DW for a week in October 2002 and fell in love with the house. Subsequently DW has been "my house" for 2 weeks in October since 2004. A variety of friends and relatives have visited there and most have loved the house for its location, features and general level of comfort. It is obvious that the owners have a similar attachment to the house from the way it is maintained and updated. Dw is my safe place--where I am most relaxed and happy.
Seaside does a great job of managing the property. Everyone I have ever encountered has been very friendly and responsive. Most service requests are handled immediately.

Left on 09/28/2011 for a stay in September 2011
We liked the place a lot, especially the ocean view. House is very well equipped and very comfortable. Few things could get little more attention in cleaning - like ceiling fans, but overall place is very nice. There were no floor mats at the entrance from the boardwalk, so we bought a couple and left them there.

New JerseyGreat time at Dolphin's Watch
Left on 09/15/2011 for a stay in August 2011
This was our first trip to the OBX so we were not sure exactly where to go for a shore house. Kill Devil Hills seemed like a popular choice so we narrowed our search to this town. The house was wonderful and very comfortable. The kids loved the rec room and hot tub and the views of the beach from the top level were wonderful. We did spot dolphins almost everyday. The house was clean and well stocked although we thought some basic items could have been helpful such as salt, pepper, hand soap etc. Although the kitchen was well stocked with dishes and appliances. A better grill would have been nice. We do a lot of grilling, but did not like the looks of the small park grill provided in the front of the house. As one guest mentioned you could rent a grill if you wanted. The beach area was fabulous and very quiet, and we had perfect weather everyday.
We did love the house and would stay there again if we ever returned to KDH. However, I think we would like to try a different town next time. Kdh was busier and more crowded than I pictured it being. The road in front of the house was busier and more congested than I thought it would be. The houses are very close together and there are many hotels and restaurants along the strip. The next block over was a 4 lane road and was very commercial. With shopping centers, restaurants etc. It was nice that we had the conveniences, but we were hoping for something more laid back. Even though it was not everything we thought it would be, we loved the house and had a great time. -

We really enjoyed our stay in OBX. The house was perfect for our family and we loved the space. We wish that we were not evacuated due to the hurricane and could have enjoyed the rest of our week at the beach. Overall, it was an excellent experience and we look forward to returning again.

Great house, near everything. Beautiful uncrowded section of beach. A pool table downstairs would be great. Love the top floor with the expanded dinning area. Kitchen is a bit cluttered no where to put groceries, but great for cooking meals. Have stayed there 3 times and we are planning on coming back next year. Have been coming to OBX for 15 years and this house is by far our favorite. See ya next year.

We really enjoyed our stay. The kitchen was well equipped. The decor and furniture were very nice. The game room was a plus and the extra frig. Hot tub always appreciated. Loved not having to bring linens and towels :) Very spacious - room for everyone to spread out. Great access to the beach! Overall - just terrific!

Over the years we have stayed at a variety of places on the Outer Banks from Kitty Hawk to Frisco. But the Dolphin's Watch turned out to be what we had been looking for. Seaside made the rental procedure easy and it was a pleasure to deal with them. The cottage's location is excellent, convenient to everything. Access to the beach is good and the view is spectacular. In our case the elevator was essential as we have several family members who cannot negotiate stairs very well - also very handy when moving in and out. It was obvious the owner had spent generously to keep this place comfortable and attractive. All in all, we loved this cottage and made arrangements to rent again next summer before we left the beach.

We've rented homes down in KDH/OBX before and always had a great time but this house is amazing and was our best rental yet. The view from the dining room is breathtaking and the location of the home in general is pretty convenient. The elevator was extremely helpful and the downstairs area was great for entertaining. The hot tub overlooking the ocean was the perfect spot to relax in the afternoon. The bedrooms run a little small but hopefully you won't spend much time there anyways!

This is not the first time we have been to the outer banks but it is our first stay in this beautiful home. I will definately be back! Every morning we woke up to dolphins and we even saw whales twice! The view and location was phenominal! We walked to the pier every morning and met up with other dog friends. The house was fully equipted-just needed some beach towels and a floor mat to wipe sand off your feet as you enter the door. Tvs in the bedrooms would be better if upgraded to flat screens on the wall (and would save space). I also could not figure out how to play the dvd player on the third floor. The window screens on the top floor bedroom were not on so even though we didn't need the air conditioner, we couldn't open the windows in that room. I called about some minor things into maintenace (a light outside out on first floor) and housekeeping (bedsheet not fit on bed) and they never returned my call. I also was skeptical about leaving the keys to the home in an open box at check out. Jolly Rodger was right across the way and it was perfect (not noisy!) Even with Biker's week! The tranquil noise of the ocean waves was all we heard. We were so happy it was pet friendly place and perfect set up for it! The entire family and dog had a perfect time! Thank you!

Dolphin's Watch was everything and more than expected. We had everything we needed, the house was very clean and beautiful, and the thing I loved best - the view, was absolutely gorgeous! Check in and check out with Seaside Vacations was quick and easy. I am planning a return trip in the summer with family and hope to stay here again.

Frisco, TXA Great Escape for My Family
Left on 03/31/2011 for a stay in March 2011
We had a wonderful time on our first trip to the Outer Banks and our vacation rental was a key piece of that. I have my wfie and I, triplet daughters who are 9 and a son who is 6. We also brought along our cousin (who has helped as a Nanny at times in the past and so is very close to the kids) and her husband. The house fit us wonderfully and is well laid out with almost surprisingly nice furniture (at least to our tastes). I did not have a problem with the bedroom size and I did not notice an issue with the beds as someone else had noted (although the fitted sheets for the master bed on the third floor almost did not fit -- but stayed on ok), but in fairness we did not go to spend a lot of time in the bedrooms. The beach access was perfect and we had a great time even though the water was too cold to swim in (but not too cold to put your feet in). Seaside's support in the booking process and once we were there was great. Having a small set of base necessities in the house waiting for us on our arrival was very helpful and appreciated. The house was in immaculate condition and nicely supplied with kitchen implements etc. The kids enjoyed the foosball table the few times they were not at the beach or we were not heading down to Roanoke or Hatteras or up to see the Wild Horses at Corolla or letting them burn off energy rolling up and down Jockey Ridge (all great options by the way) . I would note that although the detailed description only lists Vcr's, there were dvd players in the two major sitting areas which was a definite positive. Oh and we did see dolphins our first afternoon -- but I suspect we were up early enough reliably enough to catch them in the mornings. The whole family wants to come back to the Outer Banks and to stay here when we do.

Oh, and a shout out to the Jolly Roger (right across the street, which was nice for great breakfast and some drinks). -

2009 is the 7th time I've rented this house--6years consecutively. My friends and I love it!! Location can't be beat--right on the water and close to everything we need or want. Size is just right even after renovation and addition of space. New elevator makes it easy to load and unload when arriving and departing (very reluctantly each year). House owners love it. A few things should be updated--kitchen stove doesn't always work properly; hot tub jets are sluggish, twin bedroom should have ceiling fan. And, yes, I've already reserved it for the same time next year.

Overall we very much enjoyed our stay and would consider this home again. The top floor dining room and kitchen are very nice, light, and sunny. We saw dolphins twice.
Positives: large dining room, sunny, quiet beach, nice walkway, right on the ocean, convenient location, hot tub, oceanfront, 4 bedrooms + pullout
Cons: No internet access! Hot tub is small and has a plastic step-stool to enter, management was rude when we called one time, bathrooms and bedrooms are very small, springy beds (not terrible, but definitely not especially comfortable). -

I also sent you a detailed sheet via snail mail.
The home was pretty dirty although we paid extra for early arrival. Sand everywhere, dirty dishes tossed back in the cupboard, counter tops sticky. We cleaned and vacuumed although the vacuum wasn't working well we did the best we could. I called your office twice because there was a big trash can overflowing behind the house, on the beach, and it was NOT the city's trash can. Also, there were cigarette butts all over the lower deck and ashtrays. The front of the house is right on a busy section of road. Definitely not worth the $4000+ we paid for the week. The upper deck is pretty small and has no sunblock so the only time it's comfortable is after 5pm. The service from Seaside was wonderful, and we will gladly use you guys again. We don't mind paying a bit for beachfront but this house really wasn't worth the money based on location and ammenities not to mention the condition it was in when we arrived. Thanks for your great service though. -

This was our 3rd stay in this comfortable, fully
equipped and beutifully decorated home. We
liked it before but were completely blown away
by all the changes and updates, including
elevator (great for loading and unloading, even
if you don't need it for handicap access). The
kitchen is the most completely equipped, we
have seen in any vacation rental. The newly
glassed in porch enabled us to have our meals
overlooking the ocean without getting blown
away by the wind. And we found the new
downsatirs game room a great addition to
expand the options for family fun. -

Left on 09/10/2008 for a stay in August 2008
We rented Dolphins Watch in August 2008 for a vacation for our family of four, two sets of grandparents, one great-grandparent and two Boston Terriers. The layout is perfect for a large family - there's space for getting together and being apart. The house is beautifully but casually decorated and to me, was the perfect beach house. The views and sounds of the ocean are incredible. We spent most of our days sitting on the deck reading and watching the ocean. The beach in front of the home was very secluded when we were there - it felt like we had it all to ourselves. The location of the home is convenient to many restaurants and shopping desitnations. It would be our first rental choice for a future Outer Banks vacation.
