Clematis Cottage is a delightful, comfortable and spacious holiday cottage in the central Scottish highlands. The original building is 400 years old, now fully renovated and comprising 2 bedrooms, lounge, kitchen/dining room, bathroom and patio area, with private rear garden and off-street parking. Situated in the historic and welcoming village of Killin, at the southwestern end of Loch Tay, it is perfectly situated for easy access to many of the scenic and sporting attractions of Scotland, yet is easily accessible from the main Scottish cities and airports. Ideal for hillwalking and mountaineering, fishing and golf, and within easy reach... of Scotland's ski areas, it is also perfect as a base for touring and sightseeing. The area itself, has been inhabited for thousands of years, and there is a ring of standing stones on the edge of the village, along with evidence of flint axe production, and a plethora of local myths and legends. A Campbell stronghold, for centuries, the ruins of whose castle can still be visited less than a mile from the village centre, and the administrative heart of the ancient territories of Breadalbane, Killin is now a favourite destination for tourists and sightseers. There is an abundance of local amenities and things to do, and an extensive network of walking and cycle trails; around the shores of Loch Tay, in the forests lying on the foothills at the edge of the loch and village, and, for the more adventurous, into the hills and mountains surrounding it. Loch Tay and its tributary rivers, two of which run through the village, are famous for their salmon and trout fishing. Boats and permits are available nearby. A deposit of £100 will be required to confirm a telephone booking. The balance to be paid on arrival.
All bed linen, towels and kitchen linen supplied. The cottage is fully electric and this is inclusive in the price.
