Cottage Profile This cottage overlooks one of the best sections of the stunning, sand beach of Boiler Beach just minutes south of the town of Kincardine on Lake Huron. The beach can be accessed just across the street and down an embankment. You may feel as if you haven't left home! You are on municipal services so there are no water issues that typically accompany cottages. Pinch yourself or just walk across the road to the wonderful beach and prove you really are at the lake. Park your car in the garage if you want or on the double asphalt driveway. It's your choice! The interior of the home is freshly painted drywall. There are rugs through...out along with comfortable furnishings. The centerpiece of the living room is a nice woodstove. Your day at the beach ends with a collapse into the leather sofa and chair. Both the sitting area with a large window and the wooden porch provide a limited view of the lake. No couch potato-ing allowed here - you have to walk down to experience the spectacular sunsets! Step across the road and you'll find steps leading you down to the fabulous beach (please watch your step, the stairs are steep). Bring your beach umbrella and shovel and join the children building a dream sandcastle. Or throw open the white shuttered windows and let the lake breezes embrace you on those warm sunny beach days! The shutters give the airy feel of the Keys! Featured in the backyard is a rock garden surrounding a micro - pool that contains a water fountain. Adjacent to the living room area is a kitchen fully equipped with fridge, stove, dishwasher and microwave. A large kitchen table is also provided next to the sliding glass doors leading to the sunroom and backyard. It seats four (4) comfortably and doubles as the games table. There are three (3) large bedrooms here. The master bedroom, painted in moody blue, features a Queen bed, with a window. The other two (2) bedrooms have one queen and one single bed. The washroom is a 4-piece with toilet, sink, bathtub, and shower. Plus, besides being the coolest place in the house, the full basement has a laundry room with washer and dryer to save you the hassle of going into town on your precious vacation time. After a swim or when the lake winds blow, move to the solace of the backyard and soak up the rays there. Or enjoy that bestseller that has possessed you. Eat in or out at the many nearby restaurants. If in, a BBQ is provided to grill up your savory summer dinner. The cottage is located on one of the finest sandy beaches in the area. This beach consists of fine sand and provides a shallow entry point into the water. You can walk this shoreline and watch the famous sunsets that were a finalist for the 'Seven Natural Wonders of Canada'. Some of the most beautiful Lake Huron sunsets are visible from the beach shoreline. After the sun sets, the evening skies are open and provide breathtaking views of the stars, the moon, and the whole night time sky. If after all that you still have time for golf - there's the Ainsdale course 3 minutes away or the Somerset or the historic (100year old) Kincardine Golf and Country Clubs within a slightly greater distance. For the kids and young at heart, the Family Fun Park, just a few minutes away and opposite the Ainsdale Gold Course offers mini-putt and go cart rides. If you still need to seek other attractions, the property is located only 4 km from the Town of Kincardine with its historic downtown fine restaurants and shopping. Don't miss Kincardine beach and it's boardwalk with flower gardens maintained by local volunteers! Listen to the piper perched in the lighthouse pipe down the sun. Another very popular weekly event in the summer is the Pipe Band Parade held each Saturday night, 30 pipers parade through the downtown to Victoria Park and put on a concert at the park. Finally, the road in front of the cottage is popular with cyclists.
Different than our usual more secluded cottage rentals, this "cottage" was in a neigbourhood beach community with lots of vehicle and pedestrian traffic. However, it was right across the street from the beach - a beautiful, sandy beach with our own direct access.
The house was well set back from the road and had a nice front porch, giving a sense of privacy from the street/beach action.
The place was in great shape and well cared for.
My own complaint is that there were no typical cottage trappings including board games, magazines, books. We couldn't even find a deck of cards. It would have been good to know that in advance so we could have come more prepared. Otherwise, a great beach vacation rental.

Great location, very clean, We did not have to go and pick up anything, this place had it all. The beach is very nice. I grew up just down the street so I was aware of what to expect from the area. Anyone who is looking for a place on the beach for the kids....This place is highly recommended.

Our week at The Beach cottage was terrific. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was spacious, the kitchen had everything you need. Laundry room access allowed us to go home with suitcases full of clean clothers. My favourite feature was the beach itself. This cottage is right across the road from the steps leading to the beach, which is perfect: sand galore; shallow, stone-free entry; very few others on the beach. Our kids are asking to come again.
