Great potential vacation home
Lakefront heaven was the ideal vacation home that could have been. The location definitelly meets the expectations of someone who wants to have a semiprivate beach. The neighborhood is nice. The house overall is beautiful and enjoyable despite being an older house. It shows that it was owned by someone who, at their time of ownership, cared and thought about details. It did feel like it was someone's home at a certain era. The views were breathtaking from each lake front room. On the other hand, the code that was given to us, to access the house, was the wrong one. It took me a while to get someone at the rental property manager's office to finally get the correct code. Being an older house, in the kitchen: the refrigerator and freezer did not work properly (we had some of our food spoiled because the refrigerator was not cold enough), the stove had broken parts. In the bedrooms and bathrooms: the bed covers were ridiculously dirty (luckly the washer and dryer worked well so we ended up washing the linens that we used), the room that I stayed in had broken furniture and a missing window rod. Some of the bathrooms had partially working toilets. I notified the rental company, but did not get any type of acknowledgment.
If anyone is willing to pay the rental fee for the views and location, go for it! It is worth it for that. If someone wants to have a perfect family vacation, check if the house appliances are fixed and the covers cleaned before you decide to rent this house... I just wish this house could be kept better... it was still an unforgettable experience for my family and me.

Manager
Thank you for your review. This Management response should have been posted sooner than now to let you know that all of the reviews have recently been addressed by our management company as well as the owner. We are all working together to bring all appliances and bathroom toilets up to good quality working condition. The refrigerator/freezer has been repaired and is working perfectly. The toilets are being addressed and will either be repaired or replaced. Our cleaning team may also be repaired or replaced as there seems to be a disconnect there. Thank you for all of your good feedback. Although we do strive for perfection we may need a little more time to get there. This home is lovely and one of our most popular lakefront retreats. Great views and an easy stroll to town
When we arrived the driveway was full of garbage bags of garden waste/trimmings (about 20 bags!). The downstairs "powder room" toilet did not work and the repair tech who came out just told us not to use it. Luckily there was another bathroom downstairs since my mother is not able to get up/down stairs easily. Also, despite trying to adjust the temperature, our pint of ice cream did not stay frozen in the freezer...we had to throw it out just as we were planning to serve it as it was literally liquid after 2 days in there. The fridge also did not keep things all that cold...our milk almost went bad! Otherwise the place was clean, warm and had a great view!

If I bought a vacation home, it would have to be like this one.
Comfort - This property is very spacious. The couches in the living room are big and comfortable. I could've slept on those overnight. The chairs near the windows overlooking the lake are a treat even in the winter. Who needs a huge tv downstairs when you've got that view. The outdoor hot tub can and should be put to use especially after a long day on the slopes or even after the long drive it might take to reach the mountains.
Cleanliness - Everything was clean and orderly when we got there. Even the pots and pans were still pretty new.
Check-in - Couldn't have been easier.
Location - In snowy conditions, the cabin is actually about a 30 minute drive to Northstar. And chains are required to get to the cabin in the snow. This will only matter if you have a 2wd car that only fits cables. On the plus side, Safeway is so close and there is a 7-11 right around the corner.
Service - Pullen people were very responsive. We had a problem with closed roads and were afraid we would not reach the cabin for our stay. By that time, the reservation office had already closed. But we called the 24hr maintenance number and they gladly took our call and said they would leave a message for the reservation group. We stayed here during one of the biggest storms this winter and as being stranded became a possibility, the Pullen Group was very accomodating. Lastly, to book the reservation could not have been easier. It only took no longer than a 10 minute phone call.
Overall - Great cabin that lives up to its price (not the cheapest rental). Can't beat the lakefront view! I can only imagine it is even better in the warmer months when you can hop into the water.

Great Location!
We loved our stay at Lakefront Heaven. The house was very clean and the kitchen was well-appointed. We loved the hot tub looking out on Lake Tahoe. The sunsets were gorgeous. We loved being so close to Northstar, Diamond Peak, & Mt. Rose.
The thing we liked least about the house was in the layout for the TV & entertainment rooms. The main living area had a very small TV. The larger, flat screen TV was upstairs, in a room with a twin bed & the ping pong table, no couch & chairs. When it came to watching the playoff games, we stayed downstairs to be near the kitchen and enjoy sitting on the couch, but with the small TV. They need to move the larger flat screen TV downstairs!
