We Think it's Better Than the Hamptons

This house overlooks the Nissequoge River near where it enters Long Island Sound. There is a nice yard, big trees and immediate access to the water. Bring your canoe or kayaks or rent them locally.

This area is probably the best kept secret on Long Island. It is ideally located for day trips to all other Long Island locations including the Hamptons and to New York City by train or by car.

Two major state parks and local town parks and beaches are less than three miles away. One town beach, on the Sound, with life guards (in summer) is right across the water from the house by canoe or kayak.

We think we have supplied... the house with everything you will need for a very pleasant vacation. While we can actually sleep more than eight people, up to eight is generally best.

There is off-street parking in the driveway. The separate garage in not included in the rental.

The house is located at the edge of a quiet year-round residential community.

The Long Island Rail Road and major state parkways serve this area with access within three miles. Your car, or a rental car, will make it possible to get to local grocery stores, shopping centers, shopping malls, churches restaurants, state parks, town beaches, golf courses and a myriad of other places and activities.

Long Island is located to the east of New York City, with Long Island Sound along its North shore and the Atlantic Ocean along its South shore.

You can take a day trip to Montauk Point Lighthouse at the end of Long Island's South Fork and spend the day at near by Hither Hills State Park on the ocean.

You can drive onto the Orient Point ferry at the end of Long Island's North Fork for a trip across the Sound to New London, Connecticut for a visit to Mystic Seaport and Museum. There is also a ferry crossing Long Island Sound from Port Jefferson to Bridgeport Connecticut.

Many walk-on ferries cross the Great South Bay from towns along the South Shore for day trips to the ocean beaches along Fire Island.

Long Island has large suburban areas close to New York City and to the East it has farms and vineyards. There are large universities. There are concerts and theater groups.

Book in advance with a NON-REFUNDABLE half payment. The second half plus the $500 security deposit will be due 30 days prior to arrival date. Personal checks will be accepted on early bookings only.

If you book within 30 to 15 days of your arrival date, payment must be by Bank Cashier's check or US Postal Money Order.

Last minute bookings can sometimes be accepted. Payment must be paid to us in cash, at our local bank, on your day of arrival. At that time we will provide the key and directions from the bank to our vacation home.

  My Mom, myself, my two aunts and best friend, met up here for our yearly summer reunion. My family grew up in Kings Park so it is always nice to go home and stay in familiar surroundings. This circa 1920's cottage overlooking the water is precious. The owner Sandra, was very accommodating and so very nice to work with. Loved everything about this rental. It was so clean and Sandra makes sure you have everything you need for a stress free visit. I would for sure go back there for another great reunion!

  Great Christmas Experience

  My family and i stayed here over Christmas. The home is very clean, has everything you need and the landlord made every attempt to make the stay just as comfortable as home (we arrived in a snow storm and the driveway had been plowed, lights were on, the home was decorated for Christmas and there was hot chocolate on the counter). I would definately stay again!!!

  This vacation home is really nice. You have a good view. There was plenty of space inside and outside so that the children could play and were happy. There was nothing missing. Everything was clean.
