Comfortable cottage in a great location.

Left on 10/24/2012 for a stay in August 2012

Loved the journey through stunning scenery to the cottage. Accomodation very comfortable and clean. Especially liked watching the wild life in the garden, red squirrels, deer and too many different types of birds to list. This can all be seen from the kitchen/sunroom. Easy walking distance to Kingusie, lots of restaurants, bars, cafes, takeaways, shops etc. This is a fabulous area for outdoor activities, you will never be bored. Dog friendly but one small criticism is the garden is not fenced off from the road. Overall a great holiday.

      Great place for walking

Left on 08/18/2011 for a stay in June 2011

Loads of walking straight from the cottage,so long as you can manage the hills, but the views are worth the effort. Lovely village with all amenities you could need. For the less active the drives through the Cairn Gorms are beautiful.

      Nature

Left on 12/03/2009 for a stay in June 2009

After a long and tiring journey, we arrived to a very warm welcome, from the owner's daughter, and found a large mixed basket of fruit and goodies. It even included a doggy selection for Sasha our pet dog.
The cottage was clean, and everything we needed for our stay was provided, right down to the wine cork extracter.
We noticed the containers of monkey nuts, bird seed, and peanuts. That gave us a clue of what could happen next, and it did.
Every morning we opened the curtains to see nature at it's very best.
From the young seagull who made his presence known by his clamour for attention and bird crumbs, to the very frequent visits by a family of red squirels, who kept us in stitches as they demonstrated how they had learned to lift the lid on the container of monkey nuts, and the one on the box of peanuts, in order to extract the contents.
Plus we had all the hangers on, who profited from the squirels. That included the pigeons, the blackbirds, the thrushes, the sparrows who all got the leftovers.
And we must mention the Mum and Dad blackbirds who lived in the tree where we had hung all the various containers for the squirels, they were raising a young family at the time, and kept divebombing the crows and pigeons who were trying to get the left overs, annoying Mum and Dad and the young chicks.
Every day was the same, and we loved the drama of mother nature at it's best
By the way did we mention the rabbits, and the hegehogs, and the friendly dogs from next door.
The weather was fantastic, and we loved every every moment of our holiday.
We will return, and can reccommend this holiday to every one.
Beautiful holiday, made even better by the stunning local walks nearby, the very friendly local people, and the facilities in the local Kingussie area.

      Bill Millar, Margaret and Sasha.
