Peaceful, good locality, friendly owners and well equipped!

Left on 04/18/2013 for a stay in January 2013

A perfect wee retreat with everything close at hand. The owners are very welcoming and see to everything from the off. A lovely apartment, spacious and full of character, set at the foot of the hills with a scenic walk and waterfalls to enjoy. The loch itself makes for great photo oppertunities no matter what the weather. We will certainly consider rating there again.

Really pleased with this stunning apartment

Left on 01/13/2013 for a stay in January 2013

We found the apartment to be spacious, warm, comfortable, immaculately decorated and spotlessly clean. It was great base for our winter week in the Highlands, with mountain paths running just behind the garden, and its very peaceful - the only noises we could hear were birds and waterfalls. The kitchen is fully equipped to cook proper meals, which is nice, and the place felt like home for a week. I'd thoroughly recommend it.

Spacious well presented apartment in great location

Left on 07/22/2012 for a stay in July 2012

Very warm welcome from owners to a very clean and spacious apartment. The bathroom was big with a great power shower. The kitchen/diner/lounge was ideal with great views and added light in kitchen via velux windows. If I was being picky I would say the bed was showing its age, but that would not stop us from staying again.

A warm, spacious and comfortable retreat from the rain

Left on 12/02/2011 for a stay in October 2011

The Steading apartment was a lovely, warm, comfortable retreat from the almost continuous rain we had during our stay, with beautiful views of the mountaintops, covered in snow during the time we were there. The owners greeted us on arrival, and had catered for our every need. The immediate area has lovely walks right out of the door, and the surrounding area is just glorious. Kinlochleven is within easy reach of so many 'must visit' places - Fort William, Ben Nevis, Glencoe and further afield. As seafood lovers, the highlight of our week was the Loch Leven Shellfish company just down the road, where we bought the freshest mussels, crabs and scallops that we have ever eaten. We can't wait to return to this beautiful area, and wonder if the waterfalls will be quite as spectacular on our next visit.

      Different

Left on 10/28/2011 for a stay in August 2011

Host and hostess not prepared to put themselves out for us! We travelled 281 miles for our stay, paid for full week and due to family committments could only travel on the monday late afternoon. 3 hours into our journey we were contacted by them and told to find overnight accommodation as they were not prepared to wait for us to arrive, we were an hour away!!! We asked them to leave a key, but they said no!!! We had to sleep that night in the car, in a car park as we could not get any accomodation!!! To add insult to injury we were told they could not meet us with key until 12:30 the next day !! Strange way to run a business!! We got them to reluctantly meet us at 10:00am !! To our further dismay, whe we asked what to do with key when we left we were told to 'leave it in the door as there was no crime in Kinlochleven' !!! Double standards, as the could not leave key indoor for our arrival!! I look forward to your comments and have also put this complaint in writing Spoken to an operative when booking my next break for november but all seems to have fallen on deaf ears !!!

      An ideal Base

Left on 02/03/2010 for a stay in December 2009

The apartment was easily located, we were met and
warmly welcomed by the owner. The apartment was in
excellent condition, very clean and warm. We
walked directly from the door onto a footpath giving
access to the mountains. After a cold, wet day of
walking the shower and endless hot water was
brilliant. A well appointed kitchen made for easy
preparation of evening meals. Just more sunshine
would have made for the perfect short break.
