Left on 05/10/2013 for a stay in March 2013
I love this place. It is a beautiful townhouse in a wonderful little town in enchanting West Cork. The owners are extremely thoughtful and they have provided absolutely everything one could need. They are also warm and charming hosts, attentive but not intrusive, and they give excellent advice about what to do and see. It rained a lot when we were in Ireland but with the choice of Kinsale's great wine bars, pubs and restaurants a few steps away, or great Irish seafood and meat to cook in the very well-equipped kitchen in the townhouse, we couldn't have been happier.
In the past I usually preferred staying in a hotel to renting an apartment, but this changed my mind. We have already been back once and I hope that we shall be able stay there again in the future. In fact the only problem with the Boland Townhouse is that it is so hard to leave. -

This is a lovely town house located in the middle of the small town, plenty of shops, pubs, walks and local history all just outside your door. The friendly and welcoming owners have gone to great lengths to ensure you have everything you could need. We stayed with 2 grown-up “children” and there was plenty of room for all. Safe off-road parking is a real bonus and it is very handy to Cork. Kinsale boasts a lot of good restaurants (not all open in the Winter season) and some great pubs.

Tony was waiting up for us to drive down from Glasgow. Very calm and helpful throughout the welcome. Wine and chocolates of course - very nice touch. Even a mobile phone to help the traveller save money! Flat is very very well stocked. Couldn't possibly want for anything in the kitchen or in the flat. Power shower! Computer printer wifi - even paper! The place is immaculately clean. Washing machine & tumble dryer so appreciated when travelling with toddler. We lucked out booking this place. Kinsale is so small everything is within walking distance and despite being in the centre of town noise isn't an issue. Secure parking on site. Truly amazing for a young family. Tony even moved his stuff out to make space for our bulky buggy! Thanks so much tony!

If you are visiting the beautiful Kinsale, Boland Townhouse is without a doubt the place to stay, from the position, centre of town, restaurants, shops, pubs, everything you need all within easy walking distance.
The accommodation is excellent, comfortable beds, nice sitting room, kitchen with all you need if you plan to cook, but there are good places to eat out. A welcome pack, a bottle of wine a box of home made chocolates. There is a lovely roof garden where you can sit out to eat, weather permitting. Ideally located in the centre of Kinsale, the Boland Townhouse is top quality accommodation. Everything you could want, and more besides - from the bottle of wine and hand-made chocolates as a welcome gift, to the very convenient parking space. Beautifully furnished , lovely bedrooms and exceedingly comfortable beds, satellite TV, a lovely patio garden, and lots of info on local restaurants etc. Tony was very helpful, particularly when we had a problem with the Wi-Fi, and I would have no hesitation in recommending his property to anyone. I hope to be able go back soon.

If you want to stay in the centre of Kinsale, Tony's Boland Townhouse is fantastic. I have stayed in lots of apartments across Ireland and Europe, and the Boland Townhouse had the most comfotable beds, Real satelite TV, best reception in terms of wine, chocolates tea / coffee etc, the best information for local restuarants and activities that I have ever experienced. All this with parking, a beautiful patio and situated in the very centre of Kinsale.
Ps. If you love walking try the beautiful Scilly Walk to Summer Cove and the Fort, and the Bullman Restuarant for an early evening meal which is first rate.

We saw this when we were in Ireland in July 2011 and my wife said that this was the place we should stay on any subsequent visit to Kinsale .
This is our verdict on our weeks stay from 12th to 19th May 2012 :-
Everything that one could wish for when visiting a nice place like Kinsale ; convenient , comfortable and welcoming .
Nice walks up onto Compass Hill with good views & not too strenuous . Good walks to Summer Cove where 'The Spaniard' was visited on two occasions (good food with a nice drop of Murphys) .
Two good take aways from the Indian restaurant (time for a drink in the 'Lord Kingsale' across the way whilst waiting for the meals to be prepared) . And just around the corner is 'Jim Edwards' , good for a cracking lunch .
We are not connected to Mr. and Mrs. Boland in any way so this is just our honest opinion of one of the best holiday accommodations that we have stayed in .

We will return in a heartbeat, as soon as we have the opportunity. The house is quaint, beautifully decorated, and perfectly appointed. The kitchen has everything you need to cook up a lovely breakfast, lunch, or dinner. There is even laundry detergent if you find you need to wash some things during your stay. The gas fireplace was at the heart of our most relaxing hours of family time - a welcome, cozy spot to relax after long days hiking the exquisite surroundings of Kinsale. We never used the car while we were there, just walked to historic sites and world-class restaurants, even enjoyed a pint of Guinness at a pub while listening to a great R&B; guitarist/vocalist. The beds are top-notch for comfort and the linens are laundered with a light, heavenly scent. As for service, the Bolands own the gift shop next door, so there is always someone close by if you have any questions. A box of chocolates and a bottle of wine await you on arrival, too!

Our stay at the Boland Townhouse was one of the best vacations we have ever taken. We have talked about our trip and the Boland Townhouse to many of our friends and family since coming home. We plan to stay there again soon. The townhouse had everything you need and much more. It is perfectly located in the center of beautiful Kinsale. Literally a minute's walk gets you to the supermarket and many restaurants. It has a private parking spot at the front door. The floor plan on 2 levels is ideal for 2 couples or a family with children. Each of the 2 bedrooms has it's own private bath. The kitchen is very well equipped and there is a washer and dryer that came in handy during our stay. Best of all was the kindness of Tony and his wife who made us feel like extended family members.

Absolutely perfect are the words that first come to mind when I think of Boland Townhouse. We stayed here for four nights in October and were disappointed when it was time to move on.
The location is convenient to shops, grocery stores, pubs and restaurants. Our hosts were full of information regarding the town of Kinsale as well as the surrounding area and if they weren't available the bookself was full of informative books and brochures. The townhouse is immaculately clean and perfectly set up for two couples or a family. We took advantage of the well equipped kitchen to cook ourselves some lovely meals using local ingrediants. Parking is at premium in town so it was very convenient having a designated, enclosed, parking spot.
Staying here was the highlight of my trip to Ireland. The Bolands can expect to see us again very soon! -

We have stayed in many self-catering properties in Europe and further afield, but this far exceeded our expectations. Spacious, very comfortable, immaculately clean and fully equipped with everything you might want or need in a holiday home. Lovely beds, fantastic shower, jacuzzi bath, computer and even a mobile phone for calling local restaurants to make reservations. Loads of lovely towels and fluffy robes too. A delightful roof terrace, which unfortunately we were unable to use because of poor weather, but I can imagine it would be very pleasant to sit out there with a coffee or glass of wine. Perfectly placed in the centre of Kinsale, near the harbour, and a private parking space too. Very helpful owners who supplied recommendations for restaurants and bars with live music. Would love to go back and stay there again.

I have traveled to Ireland 12-13 times and have stayed in various accommodations all over the country. I can wholeheartedly say that Boland's Kinsale Townhouse is one of the best places in terms of value, comfort, and location.
The townhouse is situated smack-dab in the center of Kinsale with gated private parking. Restaurants, pubs, shops, and the supermarket are all within walking distance. The property itself has every imaginable comfort. The beds are comfy, the living room is cozy with a gas fireplace, and the water pressure in the showers will just about knock you over! This townhouse is furnished as though it were someone's home. We're not talking about yard sale dishes and towels knocked together to fill the rental property. Everything is of the highest quality, from the dishware to furniture to the white terrycloth bathrobes. And, what a treat to find a bottle of wine and box of chocolates waiting for us upon our arrival! I wholeheartedly recommend this property for anyone looking to visit Kinsale! -

We can only echo the other reviews. It was beyond fantastic. Just a few of the many, many pluses: Two big bedrooms, both with lovely bathrooms (one bathroom even had a jacuzzi tub); beautifully decorated; large--completely stocked kitchen (there was even a pastry cutter); washer and dryer; wonderfully cozy, yet spacious living room with lots of light and a gas fireplace, which put out plenty of heat; a lovely private garden; a parking space; and I could go on and on. And best of all, the lovliest landlords you could ask for. Tony and Colette live right next door and were wonderful. We were there a month and we seriously could have stayed forever!!!
And if the above is not enough--it is in the heart of the great village of Kinsale. Everything, truly everything, is walking distance. And there are loads of pubs, with live music almost every night--for what ever your taste is. And . . . .there are just so many "ands" Kinsale is located in a beautiful area of Ireland. We took many drives just to admire the countryside. And (said there were lots) , Kinsale is a sailing town, so there were lots and lots of activities--community theater, old car rally, national chowder cook-off!! A stay at Boland House in Kinsale could get you thinking that relocating to Ireland just might not be a bad idea!!
And once more, I just have to say that Tony and Colette made is just perfect. -

We just returned from our week in Kinsale last night and I could hardly wait to write this review! It was just perfect. The house is lovely, and Tony and Colette thought of every little detail. Kinsale is gorgeous, and the townhouse is right in the middle of everything! We hadn't really planned on it, but had dinner in almost every night as the kitchen was so well stocked and Kinsale had so many great shops. Don't miss the small but really good farmer's market on Weds. mornings - make sure to try the thyme marianated goat cheese! Kinsale is alo very well located if you'd like to do day trips. Cork airport is only about 20 mins away but unfortunately the flight times didn't suit us, so we flew to Dublin. I have to say the new motorway meant that travelling from Dublin airport was so easy too. The Bolands were fantastic, the left us provisions as we arrived at death o clock! The house is in a fantastic location, we went walking around the town and the area nearly every day. One day we took at trip to Kilarney and another to Cork all within easy reach. This house is lovely, clean, warm and so comfortable. I look forward to a return visit.

If you're thinking about Kinsale, this is a great location. We wanted to stay in County Cork and thought Kinsale (with a rental car) would be a good central location. It worked out well. Within walking distance are many restaurants, shops, two grocery stores (open late), and the harbour. The Kinsale tourism office is just across the street.
The townhouse is well-equipped with everything you want, including wi-fi capabilities. There was an iron, vacuum, hairdryer, washer, dryer, refrigerator, dishwasher, big TV, computer, printer and a mobile phone for local calls...very difficult to get all that from a hotel for the same price!
If you stay here, enjoy the drive on R600 towards Mizen Head...you won't be disappointed. Plus along the way you can see the Drombeg Stone Circle. -

Our stay at Boland Townhouse was without fault, from booking through to departure. We stayed the week before Christmas with our two young children - 2y10m and 10m. The location is perfect for exploring Kinsale and the parking space right outside the townhouse is an added bonus. The accommodation was spotless and the attention to detail in providing their guests with everything they may possibly need impressed us the most. The bedroom windows even had wooden shutters and blackout material on the curtains which prevented any early morning wake-up calls from our daughters. If you are considering staying at Boland Townhouse then do so, as you won't be disappointed. We have visited Kinsale a number of times and will return again - when we do, it will be first on our list when checking for available accommodation.

We were 4 motorcyclists;secure offroad parking and grd floor storage for bike gear. Central to all amenities. Superb accomodation and the modern kitchen had all utensils fit for a gourmet chef.Great attention to detail thro'out both in decor and comfort. Beds v.comfortable and showers worked 'just right', no shortage of hot water. Reception on arrival made us feel welcome.A great week was had by all.If there has to be negative then I would advise light sleepers to have the back room. Having said that, it is nothing more than one would expect in such a cental location

Boland Townhouse is located in the heart of Kinsale. Parking space in Kinsale is at a premium, so being able to park your car on the gated driveway in front of the house makes life very easy.
We were given a warm welcome by Tony and Collette Boland, which was enhanced by the provision of wine and chocolates as a gift on our arrival. Tony showed us around the house and each room revealed all of the home comforts that are so rarely delivered by other vacation properties we have rented.
The accomodation is very comfortable. There are also a wealth of added extras that make a difference such as Sky TV, Computer with internet access, Jaccuzi bath etc. We found the bedrooms extremely comfortable and spacious with a plentiful supply of clean, fluffy towels. We were very pleased to find that every little detail had been thought of to make our stay as pleasent as possible, including plentiful supply of such things as tissues, dishwasher tablets and even a mobile phone to enable us to make calls in Ireland without incurring the costs of international calls from our own mobile phones. All of these are small details but they made a real difference.
Kinsale provides a wonderful location for the house with all of the bars and restaurants in close proximity. Cork City is also close by should you want to venture a little further afield. Although the house is located in the centre of town, shutters on the windows help to keep out any noise at night.
We had a wonderful stay in Kinsale at Boland Townhouse and would have no hesitation in recommending the house to anyone. We will certainly be back. -

My husband and my two daughters ages 15 and 12 just spent two weeks at Boland Townhouse. We were in Kinsale from New York for a family wedding. Tony and Colette were helpful without being at all intrusive. The location was perfect as we could walk to anything we wanted to do in town. It was also nice to know that when we did need to use our car we didn't have to fight for a parking space. The townhouse was clean and neat and was just the right size for us. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay in Kinsale. If we ever return we'd be sure to stay at Boland Townhouse. Thanks Tony and Colette.
