6 Hogans Row is a beautiful and very well appointed cottage in Kinsale. Katie is very friendly and helpful and check in was easy. We stayed in the cottage for one week in March with our young baby and it was perfect for us. Its a five minute walk down the hill to the town so everything is on your doorstep. Parking is available right outside the door at no extra cost. The cottage contained everything we needed to make this our home away from home for a week.
As other reviewers have noted, the cottage is located up a steep hill so may not be suitable for all travellers if you wish to walk down to the town and back. We found it no problem however, even pushing a pram!
The next time we visit Kinsale we will definately stay here! And of course, the cream cake was georgeous! Such a nice touch! -

We enjoyed a memorable week in number 6 Hogans Row in late april/early May. The Cottage is conveniently located close to the town centre making for easy access to the many restaurants and pubs of Kinsale. The cottage is modern, clean and well equiped. We were treated to a nice welcome pack of fresh flowers, cake and the ingredients for making tea which was very welcome after a long drive. Kinsale is an excellent town and this is an ideal cottage for a couple or a small family.

I can confirm what everyone else says here - the cottage itself is exactly as advertised. We stayed in the last week of March, when the weather was freezing, it even snowed! But the cottage was very warm and comfortable nevertheless. Katie left us cake and flowers on arrival and we felt very at home, instantly. Our one year old was well looked after, with a travel cot and high chair included as standard. The cottage felt very personal and welcoming, with lots of little touches that made it so.
The parking was never a problem and it is only 5 mins walk to the main street. Kinsale is a bustling, gorgeous little town with history and food its main attractions.
Above all though, it is Katie herself who made the stay memorable. We found her to be extremely generous of her time and help. Just as we were leaving, to our horror, my car stalled. It was 11am on an Easter Sunday morning and it was lashing rain outside. I had just left in the keys, so we had no way back into the cottage. In desperation, I rang Katie to see if she could help. Within minutes she had dashed down to help us out, even letting us back into the cottage for an hour so we could wait for the aA man to arrive. In the meantime, she tried helping with my car as much as she could, including trying to boost the battery.
It all worked out OK in the end and I remain very grateful for her selfless help on a very wet day. I'd have no hesitation recommending the cottage to anyone. -

This cottage was a wonderful place for our family of four to stay. Kinsale is a fun little town, although we visited in winter when things are a tad more quiet. However, this cottage was a sure highlight! Katie was very gracious and flexible with us when we did not have a phone to connect. She checked in on us upon our arrival and explained some of the quirks of the cottage.
This cottage is very well equipped. We enjoyed cooking in the modern kitchen, doing laundry in the full size washer and drier, and having space for the family to relax. The beds were comfortable, and it was nice to have separate bedrooms. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 6 Hogans Row, and would not hesitate to stay again and recommend Katie, and the cottage, to others. -

6 Hogan's Row is a really cute cottage; 1 dbl room and 1 twin room - with new kitchen & bathroom a such a cozy living room. The place was very clean when we arrived and the owners had left us flowers and cake in the kitchen - a nice little touch. The house has all the modern conveniences you'd want (flatscreen with Sky+, Wifi, microwave, hair straighteners) but a nice cottage feel with a very cute backyard. It's located very near the centre of Kinsale, just a short walk to the main street, so very convenient, we had no problems parking either. A word of caution for tall people - there are some low ceilings in parts!
Very nice comfortable stay in the center of Kinsale, I recommend it! -

6 Hogan's Row is a charming 2 bedroom home near the heart of Kinsale. It has all the modern conveniences (modern bathroom and kitchen, flat screen TV, DVD, Sky Cable, internet), while maintaining a cozy feel with it's wood burning stove, small garden, and large, comfortable couches. It has 1 full sized bed and 2 twin beds as well as two large leather couches. The proprietors keep the place immaculate and even left tea and cake for us. Downtown Kinsale is a 5-10 minute walk from the house, through a charming neighborhood of brightly colored homes and lively pubs and restaurants.

My October 2012 stay at 6 Hogans Row in Kinsale was a delightful experience. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in a friendly, centrally located vacation rental. The owner, Katie Hogan, was professional and very responsive to all of my questions and requests. 6 Hogans Row is a great value for your money, and I’d definitely hope to stay there if I’m ever lucky enough to be back in Kinsale.

A quaint Irish cottage in the perfect Kinsale location - not to close but not too far. Close to the centre but far enough away to be perfectly quiet. Groceries, wine, pubs and shopping are within 5 minutes walk. The cottage is cozy, clean, well equipped and perfectly modern with a functional bathroom and kitchen. Beds are a little firm with comfortable duvets and great drapes for sleeping. Fun to stay in an Irish cottage but headroom can be tight. If you want an authentic experience, this is for you.

My husband, 14 year old son and I recently spent a week in charming Kinsale at 6 Hogan's Row. After spending the first week of our holiday in hotels, it was a really nice change of pace. From the warm personal welcome by Katie to the fresh cream cake and milk in the refrigerator, our stay was most enjoyable. The house was very clean and well equipped. The location was quiet but within a short walk of the pubs and restaurants. The Irish music at Dylan's pub is not to be missed. Dinner at Max's was excellent. The clothes line and laundry facilities were very handy for drying out the rainsuits after a particularly rainy round of golf :)

We stayed in this gorgeous cottage for one week with our 3 boys all under the age of 6. Everything we needed was there, was very pleasantly surprised at how well equipped, safe and comfortable the cottage was, it really was home from home. The location could not have been better a nice quiet road yet the town was only a short stroll away. Would highly recommend staying here we will definitely be returning.

We arrived tired after the overnight ferry to a lovely welcome with fresh cake, milk and flowers on the table delivered in person by Katie the owner.
The cottage was spotless and had everything we could have asked for. The television and Sky box and free wifi were great as it was during the London 2012 Olympics and the family were keen to be up to date on events.
Katie accommodated every request and I would highly recommend Hogans Row as a place to stay. -

We spent four nights at Hogans Row as the Co Cork leg of our Ireland tour. Our schedules meant that we never met Katie but she had put a cake in the fridge (many thanks from our daughters) and a huge vase of lilies on the table.
Living Room & Kitchen are nice and spacious. Gas BBQ is a plus and was put to use as were the washer & dryer in the outhouse.
The cottage is just minutes walk from Kinsale's pubs, restaurants, shops and harbour front.
All in all a great base to explore the south west from. -

This was my second trip to Ireland having stayed in B & B's around the country last trip. This time I wanted to stay in one location and take day trips. Katie's cottage couldn't have been lovlier! She met us when arriving in town, showed us the layout of the cottage and let us know that we could call her for anything. The cottage offered everything we could possibly need. The location was perfect to town centre of Kinsale, the slight incline back home was perfect to exercise the extra calories from the fabulous dinners and numerous pubs we indulged in. At the end of each days journey it was nice to come "home". Many thanks, Katie for sharing your home with us! I hope to visit your beautiful country again!

Anyone looking for a comfortable base from which to explore Kinsale and surrounding area can't go wrong with 6 Hogans Row.This well equipped traditional cottage ticked all the boxes for me.The kitchen has everything you would want for a self catering holiday, the comfortable lounge has Sky plus a large flat screen TV and the large walk-in shower is great.Located a short stroll from the centre of Kinsale it is convenient for services but away from any noise.Ok you have to walk back up the hill but I did not find this a problem.A car is not necessary unless you want to go further afield. There is a regular bus service to Cork. The walk to Charles Fort with lunch at Summer Cove is ideal on a sunny day.Booking the cottage was very simple as it is easy to communicate with Katie via text or e-mail. Would definitely recommend.

Very cosy, comfortable, clean house in a great location. The little extras like a cot and a highchair for our baby made the break much easier for us. The house met all our requirements and we had a very pleasant stay. It really was a home from home. The owner made us very welcome and was very helpful. I would have no hesitation in recommending a stay here.

We thoroughly enjoyed our one week visit to Cork, using Kinsale as a base to travel around, and the cottage was just a wonderful base.
We were welcomed with a lovely Easter cake and milk in the fridge, as well as everything we could need for our week in Kinsale.
The house was lovely and warm and there was even the makings of a fire in the little stove in the sitting room.
The cottage is perfectly located out the outskirts of the town centre and we enjoyed our walks around the little streets of Kinsale from the cottage.
We had a BBQ one of the evenings which was a change from eating out every night and it was great to have the option to chill out in the cottage and watch TV the odd time as there was Sky as well as a dvd player and Wifi access.
I would recommend this cottage to anyone and Kinsale is a wonderful base to explore West Cork.

I traveled in Ireland via Dublin - Kinsale - Dingle - Galway over 9 days and was wanting a real feel of Ireland. In Kinsale as a special treat, I wanted to not be in a hotel. Found this property and was so impressed by the other reviews and pics. It is everything you see and Katie is wonderful! Flowers and a delicious cake with a carton of milk there when we arrived. Lots of books to look through for Ireland trip and loved looking over it the the sitting room where there is the possibility of lighting a fire. Easy walk to town! Very flexible when we arrived later than we thought due to traffic from Dublin down to Kinsale. Loved the experience!!

Just back from a week at 6 Hogans Row in Kinsale. Decent price given other rentals charged for similar properties. Cottage was generally well equippped and well-presented, with everything you need for a comfortable stay; good size well equipped kitchen and tasteful, comfy living room with flat screen telly, Sky box, dvd and h-fi. Bedrooms ok, but not to same standard as living room, and bathroom ok but a little tired. Bathroom houses washing machine and tumble drier. Enclosed garden at back was fine but ever-present whiff of kerosene from outside oil tank detracted somewhat from the ambience when trying to sit out in the sun and enjoy a glass of wine and a book. Owner was very welcoming and helpful with booking and directions and met us on arrival, nice touch with the flowers, fresh milk and cream cake...
Cottage is 5 mins walk from town centre, up/down steep brae so ideally located but less so if you have mobility issues (tip: when in Kinsale itself dump the car and walk about). I'd recommend this homely holiday cottage as we had a very enjoyable week and it was an ideal base for touting aboit the area. -

We stayed at this lovely little cottage, with our 9 year old daughter, in late October. Our first impression was that the photos do not do it justice! The cottage is extremely well equipped - whatever the weather - having sky tv, internet access, central heating plus an ample terraced area with barbeque. Street parking was easily available - always a plus in Kinsale - and it 's a few minutes walk from the centre. Friendly owner. We would highly recommend a stay here.

We had a lovely holiday in Kinsale. I would highly recommend our accommodation in Hogan's Row. Ideally located, this cottage is close enough to walk everywhere but also away from the hustle and bustle of town centre. Its a beautiful quaint cottage on the outside, and newly refurbished and modern inside. It was spotlessly clean, we had excellent facilities eg. full use of Sky Digital TV, computer with broadband connection, barbecue in small back garden, magazines to browse through, clean towels and all the usual amenities. This cottage is perfectly suitable for 3 people. All in all it was an excellent choice. I would be very slow to fault it in any way but if I was to pick out anything, it would just be that it is at the top of a hill, so if you are not using a car then you would need to be well capable of walking a steep hill. Also this cottage wouldn't be suitable for very young children because it has a few steps indoor going from one room to another and also in the lovely paved back garden, which otherwise adds to the character of the house. A beautiful idyllic cottage which we hope to visit again.

Myself and my wife stayed at this ideally located cottage in the heart of Kinsale. A large double bedroom and a good size single room. The kitchen was clean and tidy and also a decent size. The lounge was very modern with comfortable sofa's, and a flat screen LCD tv in the corner. Kate was very helpful and a phone call away, if we needed anything, but everything was excellent. The cottage was just five minutes walking distance from the town centre, which has so much to offer with it's many restaurants and bars.

I had the pleasure of staying in this old-world comfortable cottage recently with my husband and daughter. We found the cottage spotless and the owner provided everything necessary for an enjoyable and relaxing stay together with a very interesting selection of books.
On arrival we found a welcoming pack including fresh flowers and cake on kitchen table, which was very much appreciated and a nice thought by the owner.
The cottage is located in a very quiet area and yet is within a five-minute walk of the town centre, which has so much to offer with its restaurants, cafes and bars.
