NewcastleFantastic... Loved it, so did the dog!
Left on 06/21/2012 for a stay in May 2012
Stayed here for a few nights in may 2012. The hall is very well maintained and grand inside. We were travelling with our dog and im always a bit worried about dog friendly rooms (cleanliness, smell, etc). The lady tower room was brilliant, immaculately clean with everything you need to enjoy your stay. I had ordered flowers for a treat to my partner and they were beautiful. The Hall is just over a mile from Kirkoswalde where ther are a couple of bars and a shop. There is a Coop in lazonby which is about the same distance again a Morrison in Penrith which is a short drive. We visited The Lakes everyday which is a good drive away but with the country roads and views it's really enjoyable. The old staff quarters have been turned into private houses, the neighbours are very friendly as is their dog. Best part was sitting outside with a glass of red wine watching the sun setting with the sheep gently groaning in the background. Ideal if you want a quiet escape or if you wanted a big venue to hire for a big family holiday. Would definitely stay again. Thankyou.

CalneThe Lady Tower- Staffield Hall
Left on 06/14/2012 for a stay in June 2012
The Hall and the surrounding area are beautiful and agreat place for a retreat and to access the Lakes and The Pennines.
The oven wasn't working on arrival but the owners managed to get it fixed the following day even though it was the bank holiday Jubilee weekend so that was very good!
The pictures in the tower are a bit naff but that's down to personal taste. The fireplace in the lounge would benefit from modernisation. If the fireplace had been a little bit more modern and effective then I would have rated Lady Tower all round as excellent!
We came back rejuvinated and that was just what we needed.
